About this house rental
Nestled in Volente, this attractive house for $410 per night is a great option for your next break. A house with so many things to do: sun-bathe on Lake Travis all day, upstairs deck with outdoor speakers to enjoy music and the sun and beautiful view of the lake, downstairs covered deck to get out of the sun, enjoy the downtown Austin night life or take a drive out to the Hill Country. Several Restaurants on the lake including Carlos and Charlies directly across the lake from this house, Cafe Blue within half a mile of the home by car or boat, the famous Oasis Restaurant is a short 10-minute drive. Waterfront is beautiful with easy access to water and great swimming right off the dock. Fishing off the dock is good for perch and catfish. The view is breathtaking and one of the best on the lake. The home has 3 bedrooms total. Two bedrooms are located upstairs with 1 queen, 1 full, 1 twin and living room sofa with 1 pull-out bed. And one bedroom is downstairs with a separate exterior entrance with 1 full-size bed. Volente is a short 25-mile drive from Austin Bergstrom Airport. This location is one of the most convenient to Austin on Lake Travis. Volente Water Park is 2 miles away. Waterfront boat dock can be used for swimming, fishing, or dock your boat. The dock has a 20 x 30 sitting area and two vacant boat slips. The dock is covered and in excellent condition. *****2023 Water levels have been lower than normal and continue to drop. This may change the accessibility of the dock and the lake. Water levels and access to the dock and lake cannot be guaranteed due to lake-level fluctuations. We stay for 2 July weekend we expect to have a wonderful weekend.

We arrived at the house on Saturday, July 1.
first of all we inspect the property,
the game room is located in the garage
it was totally dirty
In the room that is located in the lower part of Okia, it is humid and we found moisture in the bathroom in the air vent in the windows, my son and his wife were leaving. to stay there, they couldn't stay because of the conditions they were in and they decided to go and stay upstairs in the living room,
what was the surprise that when we were already in bed he got up at midnight around 1am to the kitchen to get water and I listen and he is vomiting I get up and go to see and ask what is happening he tells me this is horrible the kitchen It is infested with cockroaches, it was horrible cockroaches on the wall on the floor above all the cabinets from the kitchen to the inside of the
refrigerator of all sizes we immediately called Vrbo to report what was happening and that we couldn't stay there.
We didn't want to sit on the chairs or touch anything,
kindly the
vrbo staff told us that because of the time they couldn't give us another place to go so we stayed up all night. and we were told that he would give us the return of what we paid plus apart would give us the expenses of the place where we were going to stay, but we had to rent a hotel through expedia which we the.
But never receive any payment for the hotel

Our family had a great time at this house. Erika was great. It was clean and the living room was spacious. The view from the kitchen are what you think of when you plan a lake vacation. The water was perfect! The lake was so clear, we had water to swim, the dock was floating. The walk to the water was mostly paved. It is a trek down and up but that is anywhere you rent on Lake Travis. The separate gameroom was perfect for family that stayed up later. There is the main floor with 2 bedrooms, Living and kitchen area. Then there is a separate room on a lower level that was more private with it's own bathroom. The grounds were nice and felt private. We would very much recommend this property!

Only suggestion was we needed Hot Pads or we could not find them and we also needed extra Blankets which we would have brought if we knew we needed to bring. Too HOT for the Garage but it looked well stocked for fun. Thank you for the Stay.

1. Our biggest issue is the cleanliness of the property.
2. The bathrooms (top and bottom floor) were dirty and outdated. Maybe there were no pictures of the bathrooms for a reason. Still, the bathroom upstairs door does not lock.
3. The bath towels had an odor and we had to rewash them.
4. The bottom floor bedroom has a separate entrance, for future renter awareness with kids. This room was noisy coming from the water pressure in the bathroom. Both the room and bathroom were dirty, had an odor, and were very outdated for sure. We had an issue with the toilet and avoided using it.
5. The beds did not have any flat sheets and comforter covers. The house didn't come with a blanket, flat sheet, and pillow covers for the sofa bed.
6. The game room and sofa were dirty and the ping pong table was broken. We were looking forward to spending time in the game room but that didn't happen.
7. This property could use some curb appeal around the house. It looked sketchy and run down when we first arrived at the property.
8. It was inconvenient to bring the trash bags to the front of the street which required you to drive.

This house was exactly what we wanted. 3 bedrooms with an extra pull out couch and space to add blow up mattresses. A large deck with a great view. Water access that was still swimable as of 10/22/22 even with the lake levels down. Bonus room with Jenga and a pool table.

Perfect location on the water. The property was the perfect size for our group and we enjoyed the garage/game room and dock. Only suggestion would be to bring blankets - there was 1 extra blanket in the closet, but 1 trundle bed and 1 sofa sleeper. Other than that, very happy with our stay!

Overall really enjoyed our stay, plan to come back again and stay a little longer when the lake is up.

House was clean and kitchen was well equipped. We made several meals. View from balcony is amazing. Had coffee out there every morning and wine every evening lol. Hike down to boat dock is pretty steep so not for the elderly. Owner was very nice and easy to communicate with. Only complaint would be the lower level room was very basement like. Hot and muggy. Hard to cool even with portable A/C unit. I suspect due to this, people may leave they’re pets down there. Very clean but smelled of dog. Upper level was fantastic though. Would definitely book again.

We used this as a base of operations to explore Texas BBQ. Returning each evening to wallow on the deck or down by the lake in a meat induced haze. Very pleasant and enjoyable place to recover.

Great views
Good location in a deep water cove, great views of the lake from the top deck and great place to enjoy a meal in the evening. We were allowed to check in 2 hours early, but on arrival the place had not been cleaned from the last visitors. Also the dock was stuck on land and dangerous for the older people to use the first day. I was able to reach out, and the cleaning got done the same day so we sat on the deck for 2 hours while that was being done and the dock was pushed back out the next afternoon so we could enjoy that part of day 2.
We cleaned the dock of spider webs and wasp nest best we could with a broom, the game room furniture was a little stained so we didn't sit on anything while in there at night, and the grill still had previous renters food stuck all over it. It is a good rental, just needs some attention to make it an excellent rental.
The walk to the dock isn't too bad, the water levels are low so there are some spots that are just loose rocks that you need to use caution with.

The home is very nice, lots of privacy. The biggest issue Id say I had was the noise. The kids and the dog, which is a beagle so not very big, stayed on the top floor and myself and partner slept on the bottom floor. There is not a very good noise barrier between the floors. We could hear every foot step, even the dogs. So if you’re a light sleeper (me), this can be a big issue. Also, the water heater is located downstairs in the closet and I’m not sure what else, but it seemed to run all the time; while someone was in the shower and a few times throughout the night. This was not an issue for my partner because he slept through it, but I was not able to rest very well.

This property was perfect for our family stay. Sleep 7 comfortably without using the living room hide a bed. Beautiful deck, view and rec room was a plus.

For the price we paid for the rental of this home we were surprised of all the shortcomings - high hill with treacherous path to lake; multiple appliances not working; access to parts of home were completely separate outside of main entrance. My husband had a terrible fall on the rocks getting up from the lake as the stairwell was badly put together. Had to have cleaners come to home as there was a rancid smell in a cabinet possibly from previous renter but they arrived promptly and took care of it. In summary, I don’t think the home is worth the cost-they should put some work in it before renting again. One excellent thing was the view from the upper deck which was just beautiful. We had a really good time with family but it could have been better.
