About this cottage rental
Welcome to the Cozy Cottage in the Heart of the Adirondack Mountains! It's nice to go away and feel at home. The cottage features a knotty-pine living room with a large leather couch (not a pull-out sleeper). The well-equipped kitchen contains a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, x-large toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker, glassware, silverware, plates, pots, pans, utensils, blender, crock pot, etc. The bathroom has a shower unit (no bathtub). The separate bedroom contains a queen-size bed with plenty of closet storage and dresser to unpack your suitcases, put everything away, relax, head out and enjoy. For your convenience, there is a compact washing machine, although small, to clean your clothes; plus electric clothes dryer. When a reply is sent that the cottage is available, the website will automatically send you an email requesting payment of one-half of the total to be sent in advance to confirm the reservation. There will be a 48 hour hold on your requested dates to allow you time to complete details on your end. The one-half payment can be paid by credit card through this website. When the website sends a request for the one-half payment, you will notice a 'service fee' has been added to the quoted amount. This fee goes directly to the website. When I receive notice of your payment, I will send you an email to provide you with information regarding key retrieval, directions, etc. Your well-behaved pet is welcome, but you will be responsible for clean-up and damage due to your pet. Out of courtesy to others, please do not allow your pet on the leather couch or the bed. Also, please bring your pet's food/water bowls plus their bedding and a towel. There is a small back yard behind the cottage to walk your dog. Please do not let your dog walk on neighboring property. The cottage is very well equipped and contains everything you need, other than your personal belongings and food/drink. There is a convenience store within walking distance which makes going out for forgotten or wanted items very easy without having to get back in the car & drive. There are several very good restaurants and shops either within walking distance or a short drive away. The scenery is beautiful. You are welcome to have guests visit but no overnight stays. The cottage is the perfect spot for a centrally located and comfortable little stay in the high peaks region. Minutes from Keene Valley, close to Lake Placid. The cottage is small, but for those just looking for a comfortable place to stay, this spot is great. Dorothy communicated very well and made everything very smooth and easy. Will be staying here again.

Perfect little space for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. Close proximity to hiking and cute little restaurants, but not too far from Lake Placid when we felt like venturing in town. Gas station next store was super convienent for when we needed to grab some snacks. Backyard was cute but we sat out front and watched the people go by.

Very clean and convenient place to stay. It was very close to the trails in the high peaks wilderness and lake placid. Stewart's was very close and a short walk for morning coffee and snacks. Highly recommend

This was a lovely little property. It's location was perfect for sight seeing but with limited restaurants open during the early part of the week. Weekends everything is open. That said great restaurants within 15 minute drive in all directions. Dorothy was a wonderful host and we enjoyed our stay very very much Thank you Dorothy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage as a home base for our latest ADK hiking adventures. The property was perfect! We had all the comforts of home including a very comfortable bed, full kitchen, washer/drier, grill, fire pit, hot water, etc, etc, etc. property owner was very easy to communicate with and even greeted us to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I highly recommend the Cozy Cottage we would stay here again without hesitation. THANK YOU! Hike on, friends.

We booked this for our girl's trip to explore the Adirondacks. It's a cute little place and served as a good base. We took full advantage of the fire pit out back and enjoyed the quiet area! Dorothy had already built a fire so all we had to do was light a match the first night. The cottage was perfect for two people.

Cozy cottage
Very nice and cozy feeling. It has a tv in the livingroom and bedroom . Very clean and tidy . The kitchen is fully supplied with everything you need to cook with . The AC 's work great. One in the bedroom and one in the livingroom. I think this is a great place for a couple and one child to sleep on the fold out couch bed.. It also has a nice enclosed porch . Dorthy is very friendly .

this property was exactly what i wanted. i wanted an affordable place to use as a "base camp" while we were hiking in the park. i didn't want to pack camping gear, and i didn't want the hassle of camping. the dog was a lot less of a challenge in the cottage than in a tent. we enjoyed having a real kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer, etc. this cottage was located within driving distance of all that we wanted to do, and that says a lot, since the park is really big.

Super Pleasant & Convenient
The cottage looked good online for what we envisioned as an anniversary getaway. It turned out to be great! It was just what we needed. I described it to my friends as "all the comforts of home". The location was near lake Placid (15 miles), which my wife and I truly love, and the high peaks mountain air was so fresh. Just a short walk to a convenient store and organic garden center were bonuses. Dorothy and Ken were wonderful hosts. They even left us an anniversary gift and card upon our arrival! Perfect spot for a high peaks getaway!
This was our first time renting a cottage instead of camping in the adirondacks and it was a great choice! This country cottage had everything we needed, and the comfy bed was perfect for recovering after a few tough hikes. Dorothy was so helpful during the booking process and made sure we had extra clean towels during our stay. Short drive to most of the high peak hikes. We will definitely be back.

Cozy cottage close to hiking and more
We enjoyed our stay in the Cozy Cottage. The cottage is modest in size, but is well-appointed and comfortable, and had everything we (a couple) needed for a week-long stay.
One favorite feature was an outdoor fire place in the backyard. Upon arrival, it had been set up with paper and kindling for a quick and easy light, and the owner even kindly rebuilt this while we were out the following day, making it easy to light again the next night. We also enjoyed having a small washing machine in the cottage to wash hiking clothes.
The WiFi did not work for the first few days we were there, but the owner purchased new equipment to correct the issue, and it was resolved completely for the latter portion of our stay. The owner also fairly compensated us for the inconvenience, and was pleasant and kind throughout the process.
Overall we very much enjoyed our visit to the Adirondacks, which was well-facilitated by our stay in the Cozy Cottage.

Keene Cottage
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and there is plenty of bedding and towels for the stay. This is our second time renting the cottage and we will definitely return!

The cabin was well stocked and organized for all you could need in the kitchen. Cozy and the futon was quite comfortable.

Cozy Cottage
The cottage is cozy, and has everything you need right where you expect it. There's even a Stewart's Shoppe two doors down. It's only a bit more than 15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, which is where we spent the two days we stayed at the cottage.

Great Location, Cozy and clean
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cozy cottage in Keene. Despite being right on a state route, it's very quiet and has several great spots in walking distance (restaurants, convenience store and cafe). Nearby plenty of trailheads and a only a short drive back into Lake Placid. We plan to return for another stay in the future!
