Stay away (nasty)! house was not cleaned upon arrival.

The community was very nice, needed a pin at the gate to enter. 15 walking distance to the beach which wasn't too horrible (bring a wagon for your gear). Beach is very private, wide and beautiful with white sand (no shells or rocks). Ocean was warm with gentle/medium sized waves. Harris Teeter and some upper scale stores (Vineyard Vines etc.) within a 5-10min drive.

Upon arrival (check-in was at 4pm), and after a 10+hr long drive the property was not cleaned yet, door was left ajar letting some wasps in. Because of covid you try to avoid public restrooms while traveling, with only one pit stop we were really looking forward to the house only to find it dirty from the previous renters. We immediately called the management office and once the staff arrived it took another 2 hours to clean. My concern was if it was disinfected properly (not just cleaned) because of covid. I did not see any inspectors go in to verify just some cleaning ladies (it stated in my rental emails that an inspector would verify that the property was cleaned correctly). At least the management apologized and refunded the cleaning fee because of the delay. House needs some major updating, you think you are stuck in the early 90s, wallpaper and original kitchen w/ older appliances. Old light fixtures throughout (spider webs included). Master bath was pretty gross. Cleaning staff promised to bring a new shower curtain since this one had major mold. They never swapped the shower curtain out. I had to close my eyes showering because I didn't want to look at the mold. Bed blankets were probably more than 10 years old and nasty. We had to go to Target and buy new ones. It's not too much to ask to update blankets every 1-2 years on a rental. It doesn't cost that much maybe $120? Pipes under the kitchen sink were leaking. The plumbers came and put a temporary fix (a bowl under the sink to catch the water) they stated that new faucets/ dishwasher pipes were needed. Ants on kitchen counters, found one live 1 inch long cockroach in the living room. Nasty. The community pool was only open to home owners and not renters because of covid. Kids were disappointed. This house has so much potential and could be updated nicely with a little bit of money, the previous reviews must have been fake. Do not rent this property. It's a rip-off.
