The Plantation Cottage near Poipu Beach is GREAT! It was perfect for our nephew, niece and their two young children, with 3 connecting bedrooms and comfy, kid-friendly living room and porch. And just a very short walk to Brennekee and Poipu beaches. A great house and great value.

Good experience overall. Close to the beach, beach chairs and snorkel equipment there to use. We bought a bucket with shovels etc and left for future families. Walls are thin so you have to be quiet after kids are asleep. I wish we would have known about laundry access, would have made our trip so much better as there are no close laundromats near by. I found a key hanging by the back door labeled "laundry" on our last morning there. Kitchen well stocked with appliances. The beds do make a lot of noise just rolling over on them. Otherwise great experience. The woman staying in the back house of lot was friendly and helpful. There is a bar very close by with live music which can be loud at night but the fans mainly blocked out the noise even with windows open. Thank you for letting us stay at your property!

If you want to stay in the heart of Poipu but not have to be in a hotel/condo this is a great house option. It's small and simple but feels legit-Hawaiian in the best of the ways. Location is fantastic.

A friend and I enjoyed the home for a week. The beds are comfy, the bathroom is modern, the furnishings are beach house comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, except could use more glass drinking glasses instead of plastic tumblers. Plenty of fans and plenty of towels were very appreciated. Beach chairs etc were available. The house is very clean. I encountered a few harmless scared small critters in the kitchen near the end of our stay. The exterior access could be improved—the driveway has a large rock you have to avoid, and the stepping stones to the front door are spaced too far apart to use. Do heed the instructions about parking on one side of the driveway, as gardeners parked on the other side. The porch was a lovely place to eat and hang out at all times of day, with the monkeypod tree sheltering above and filled with birds. We liked hearing the surf crashing at Brennecke’s Beach. Occasional music from Kalapaki Joe’s drifted over at happy hour. Loved being able to walk places. It was a happy week staying at the Plantation Cottage.

We often stay at the Plantation Cottage for a month in late winter. As usual the cottage was very comfortable for my wife and me and a series of house guests. In particular, we love the covered porch and the location close to the beach. This year the kitchen appliances were new which improved our ability to prepare meals.

This was such a lovely, comfortable, cozy cottage. We felt so at home here! Montgomery and Julie are friendly, helpful hosts, the cottage was clean, and beautiful touches like orchids in the house. Uncomfortable..The property owner made daily appearances,leaving us to feel as if we were being watched.When I did our laundry,the person who had done their laundry just prior from the back house had lost something in the dryer and it melted and ruined nearly all of our cloths. This was the worst vacation we have ever had. It was our anniversary trip. That got ruined. We will never stay in this house again.

A beautiful home, perfect for our family’s visit to Kauai! Easy walking distance to Poipu and Brennecke’s Beaches. A short drive to restaurants, shopping, and Shipwreck Beach. Nice floor plan and size of cottage for our family. The outdoor lava shower was a nice bonus, and we enjoyed the front porch for meals and visiting! The property owner was attentive and had great recommendations for restaurants and nearby places to visit. Highly recommend.

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs, a family of four. Everyone had their own space. Very clean, very comfortable. It had every amenity we would need, beach chairs, towels, laundry soap, etc. We walked down to the beach every day. We had a small hiccup in that the ice maker was broken and there were no ice trays, but a call to the management company fixed that almost immediately. It's true that the furniture on the lanai isn't what is in the pictures, but we didn't care. There are comfortable chairs and we sat out there every day.I would absolutely reserve the cottage again, we loved it.

I booked the property because I love the plantation homes of Hawaii and the location cannot be beat. While yes, the house is charming it is also very dark and musty and needs a deep clean. The location is amazing but in my opinion this house could be amazing and still charming with some upgrades: the beds! are squeaky old spring beds on rolling box spring and should be replaced. The appliances need to be replaced and overall furniture has prob been there since 1980. I mean I get “if it’s not broke, why fix it”, but some minor upgrades would make the stay much nicer. I requested the management provide new towels and replace broken patio furniture and they were great and did so and even provided another place to stay. Overall, we decided to cut our stay short at this house and again management was very kind and worked with us. Wish this place was as charming in person as it is in pictures, but for me this was it the case.

Our family of 5 recently stayed at the Plantation Cottage and it fit our needs perfectly. It was a quaint little house sitting on a beautiful property a stone's throw from the ocean and dining but tucked away so it was quiet (except for our kids!) and private. The owner stopped by to say hello and make sure we settled in and then gave us some bananas from his tree, which were so delicious. We barely bothered with the indoor shower, preferring to use the outdoor shower. It had every convenience we needed (hairdryer, washer/dryer, plenty of towels, boogie board, etc.) and was a perfect place for us to rest and relax after an activity-filled day. We would definitely stay there again!

We've stayed at the Plantation Cottage on our last 4 winter vacation trips to Kauai. We usually stay for 3 weeks. It's a simple 3 bedroom cottage located on a quiet side street only a block from Brennecke's Beach. It's a perfect spot for a family vacation.
This year the owners updated the kitchen and installed new floors. They also redid the roof. So they continue to maintain it in good condition and update it. It also has a laundry and a fun outdoor lava shower (which our grandkids loved).
The KVR folks have always been very accommodating, but this year they went the extra mile. Our dates constantly fluctuated; because of the additional Kauai quarantine requirements our flights seemed like they were changing all the time. The KVR people were very flexible in working with us to accommodate our schedule.
We've booked it again for our next winter trip to Kauai and highly recommend it.
This year the owners updated the kitchen and installed new floors. They also redid the roof. So they continue to maintain it in good condition and update it. It also has a laundry and a fun outdoor lava shower (which our grandkids loved).

The cottage is rustic - in the best way. Its charm lay in its Hawaiian themed decor, location, and hosts. It had all we could need or want in the kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, an outdoor shower and off street parking (to name a few of the amenities).
