High Point Retreat is an amazing 5000 square foot log home built upon one of the highest points in Hocking County. Sitting atop the hill with 9 acres, our log home is nestled in a private location. We are minutes away Cantwell Cliffs, Old Man's Cave, Rock House, zip lines, and other attractions.High Point Retreat offers large open floor-plan, expanded dining area with wonderful views of nature, 2 balcony decks, gas grills, hot tub, fire pit, soccer goals, and even a playground for the kids. I stayed at this property with a large group of friends for a hiking and adventure weekend trip. We were able to check out some of the sites, canoe on the river and enjoy the outdoors, all due to the house being so close to so much in Hocking Hills! The house itself was stunning and was able to accommodate all 14 guests we ended up having. We booked it for 16, but there would have been room even if they came! The kitchen area was great and able to seat everyone for meals, and the back yard and fire pit areas were exceptional. Also the lower level was unexpected! The pictures show the pool table, but i dont think it shows the projector screen and couches. It was a very open area on both levels and all my guests enjoyed it thoroughly. If we ever end up with a large group to do it again, i would book this location again. Highly recommended

This property was a wonderful surprise to pull into after a bit of a tough drive on the small roads (followed GPS at first just to be safe, so definitely follow the host's directions next time). The amenities of this place were well thought out and purposeful. Great place for large groups. Lots of carpenter bees but that might be normal around this time of year. Other than that, our family enjoyed our time here. Can't say thank you enough!

Plenty of Room! Everything you could want!
We can't say enough good things about this house. It was a perfect place for our extended family Thanksgiving getaway. We had lots of room for both generations of 3 families to hangout, play games, and relax. The extended kitchen area was perfect for our impromptu dance party. The house is clean, beautifully decorated and stocked with anything you could need. We enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard and loved the hiking trails. This is an amazing find!

Better than expected!
I cannot say enough about this place. We loved our stay and it was a perfect location for our Friendsgiving! The kitchen was fully stocked for all 18 of us and there was a spacious bedroom for each of our 6 family units! We hope to book it every year moving forward.

It was our first time to Hocking Hills. The house was spacious and fun. Many amenities made it a good fit for our family, ages 3 to 60. We loved being able to all cook together in the huge kitchen and eat together at one table.
Opportunities for improvement include screen doors on the front and back to allow some air flow. We hated having to use the AC when a couple open doors would suffice.
The wifi was disappointingly inadequate. The service was too bad at times to look up pizza places or local grocery stores. This could be assisted by expanding the binder to include some recommendations with addresses.
The kitchen had every tool and dish we might need but no avaliable cabinets to store our groceries. The two fridges were convenient, as well as the two sets of washers and dryers.
The location is a bit too far off the beaten path for us, but trust the owner when he says to come in off 180 if coming from the north. The GPS route was rough in the pouring rain.

My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at this home. Beautiful in architecture and very comfortable for large groups. Many areas inside and out to relax and full of space to entertain. The host was wonderful, very responsive in their communications and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend this home and would look to come back.
