Year Round Lakeview Cottage with Dock on Lake Champlain
About this cabin rental
Nestled in Alburg, this attractive cabin for $150 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Year round activities in a private lakeview cottage! Winter: We are located on the VAST trail (Corridor 78) for snowmobiling with direct access right out of our driveway! Plenty of off street parking for your trailer and machines. Amazing ice fishing right in front of the cabin as well! An hour from Jay Peak, 1.5 from Smuggler's Notch, and 2 hr. from Stowe Mountains for skiing and riding. Spring: Spring skiing in the mountains or mountain biking once the snow is gone. Visit a Maple Sugar house, see maple syrup being made, and try the famous "sugar on snow." Of course, Spring is amazing fishing here; it is prime time Salmon and Walleye season in this area! Summer: Boating, fishing, swimming, biking, hiking all directly from our cottage! Our dock is directly across the street. A short 5 minute walk down the road will take you to a beautiful sandy swimming beach. Summer concerts, beer festivals, food fairs, farmer's markets, amusement parks, are all 30-45 minutes or less on a day trip to Burlington, Montreal, or St. Albans. Visit the Vineyards and farmer's markets or go antiquing in the Champlain Islands, 10 minutes away. *We do now share our dock and deck/access with the neighbors, a nice couple. They do not live there full time and are very rarely around so most of the time it will be all yours! They do not have a boat on the dock so that will be the same as it has always been; open and available for your boat during your stay! Fall: Foliage is breathtaking in this area! We are connected to the gorgeous Lake Champlain Islands via bridge, only a beautiful hour drive from Jay Peak and 1.5 hours from Stowe with amazing foliage and views! Many Fall fairs, apple festivals, brewery tours, vineyards, music festivals, and of course fall fishing! Duck and goose hunting is big in this area this time of year as well. For Fisherman: This area is known for catching unbelievable trophy winning small and large mouth bass, walleye, pike, perch and crappie literally right off our shore! Bass really love the trestle bridge out front and the Missisquoi river to the north. If it's salmon you are after, a short boat ride south will get you in fantastic salmon territory! Hog Island Market is 2 miles away and accessible by car or boat in minutes for fishing licenses, live bait, tackle, boat gas, and snacks. Campbell's Bay Campground is 3.5 miles away for fishing licenses, boat gas, pontoon rentals, tackle, snacks and is accessible by car or boat as well. This spot is MADE for fisherman! We are located in between the Route 78 Alburgh/Swanton bridge and trestle bridge in East Alburgh, VT. We have a large off-street parking spot, with electricity, for your boat and trailer. You can drop in at the Larry Greene/West Swanton public launch 1/4 mile away (just across the bridge) and tie up to our dock with-in minutes! Our dock is directly across the road from our cottage. Keep your fishing and boating gear safe and secure in our large screened in porch. For Golfers: We are located 15-30 minutes from 4 fantastic golf courses! Voted one of the best in Vermont, Alburgh Golf links, is 15 minutes away with beautiful lake views. Champlain Country Club and North Country Golf Club are both 20 minutes away. If you bring your passport the Club de Golf International 2000 is right across the border 25 minutes away! For couples and families: Our dock, directly across the road, has a 10X12 ft deck for swimming and sunning with easy access to bring all the water toys you'd like. A row boat and life jackets are included in the rental. Our bay is calm and great for kayaking and SUP. Storage under the deck for all your toys as well. A short 5 minute walk down the road to the south of the trestle bridge, will take you to a beautiful sandy swimming beach that is typically deserted so will most likely be all yours! There is also access to walking and biking trails there. We have a very large and private backyard for lawn games and 2 fire pits for roasting marshmallows under the stars. We are 2 miles from the Missisquoi National Wildlife refuge with great nature trails and bird watching. Sandbar beach on Maquam shore, just a few miles to the south, is a popular spot for anchoring, swimming, and picnicking for the day. We are an hour from Jay Peak, Montreal, and Burlington if you are looking for more public adventures. We enjoyed our stay in East Alburg cottage. The beds were super comfortable, giving us a restful night. We did not know how to stay on their property as it was so overgrown. When we found out where [behind neighbors mailbox] we still couldn’t enter because husband discovered steps and deck were in such bad shape. Probably from recent storms. The coffee pot was old, wet, & dirty we had to purchase vinegar to clean it before using. Area was clean except for thick dust buildup on exhaust fan in bath. Microwave was used as our breadbox only because plates weren’t microwaveable. I don’t have ocd, but these little things are important to me. This cute little cottage is stocked well and will be a perfect place to stay when these dangerous areas are taken care of.

My husband and I had a great vacation while staying in Khara and Steve’s cottage. It is immaculate and is equipped with everything you will need for a stress free vacation. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood just minutes away from the Missisquoi National Wildlife Reserve. Natural beauty is everywhere. Communication with Khara was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves so much that I have already booked our vacation at this cottage for next year.

Beautiful views and the great central location to all the boat ramps on the northern end of the lake make this an ideal fishing retreat. We'll be back.

This property was perfect for our needs. Close to Swanton and easy commute for our business needs. On the lake for evening enjoyment!
This is a quaint little cabin whose age just gives it more charm. Checks all the boxes!

This cabin was such a pleasant surprise! Super clean, appointed nicely and perfect to come back to after each day of exploring! It is an older cabin so things were dated, but that just added to the charm. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay, in a very quiet neighborhood.
We had so much fun in the area. We came to fish, but the water levels and crazy weather patterns didn't make it easy. We did fish Sandy point - literally a stone's throw across the bridge . We visited Hog Island Market, Alburg Dune's State Park (beautiful), ParkHero's Welcome General store and took a drive into Montreal for a day. There is a train trestle out front and we got to see a couple trains, which was very cool. We didn't use the dock or deck by the lake because of the weather, but we did enjoy sitting on the covered front porch looking out at the lake. Khara was really nice and did everything she could to make us feel welcome. I would definitely stay again!

Very quaint cottage, nice neighborhood area, very quiet. Loved the kitchen reminded me of being in my grandparents kitchen as a kid in Connecticut back in the 80s, loved it. The seating was challenging in the living room, but for 2 people all good. Dock down at lake, needs some attention. Over all loved the place.

Enjoyed our stay.

Cottage was nice with great amenities. Biggest downfall was not having a full size couch which made for very cramped seating. Very disappointed in the condition of the dock and the lack of a clean swimming area. Had to go to Alburgh Dunes multiple times to swim which was beautiful. Host was pleasant and accommodating.

The house was perfect for my needs and was just as described by the hosts. It was very clean and had a lot of nice personal touches, including everything one would need in the kitchen and helpful brochures for the Champlain Islands as well as Burlington and Montreal. Khara was very helpful and responsive. It didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Very clean, spacious and nicely tucked away. I really appreciated the keypad contactless entry! Bathroom had soap dispensers in showers like at modern hotels so that was a nice touch as well. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay and the views were beautiful! Location was great for us and an easy drive from Plattsburgh airport. The hosts were great to communicate with and gave us lots of suggestions for entertainment during our stay. We can't wait to come back and check out the area in the summer or fall.

We loved our stay! The house was perfect! We loved the porch and the dock that came with it! The washer and dryer came in soon handy! Our host Kara was great and responded quickly when we couldn’t figure out TV! We loved the area and our stay 😊

We kept loosing water pressure. We would have to turn water off for a few minutes then turn it on again. There isn't much to do in the evening so better tv and more comfortable furniture so you don't feel like you're in the dr. Office. I went to make coffee. There was moldy coffee grounds in pot. The laundry room has horrible mold smell. I have weak lungs so stayed out of that room completely

We needed to bring our daughter up to UVM for the first time and also needed a place to stay. We were familiar with the islands, and looking for a cottage seemed the way to go. I can't express how happy we were with this property .
It was peaceful and quiet and a great place to escape to enjoy nature. We rented kayaks , did a bit of fishing , went to a farmers market and just RELAXED.... the cottage was everything we could have asked for and more ! ENJOY your stay ; this cottage won't disappoint .

Overall good.
However my wife was not pleased with the cleanliness of the food pantry/shelves, porch window sills or laundry room floor. She thought the cleaning service was lacking. She appreciated the shower and bathroom being very clean.
I enjoyed the fishing and location.

Great location for a day trip on our boat exploring Lake Champlain. It was unclear which dock was associated with the cottage but a quick text to the host and it was clarified instantly. The host supplied a basket full of brochures containing points of interest which was helpful to learn about the area. Communication was easy and directions and expectations were clear.

Access to boat launch was down the street from the camp. Near two really fun golf courses and Alburg Dunes State Park which has a nice beach. Easy access to Isle La Motte and other Champlain Islands for excellent bike riding.
