Custom Built Penobscot Bay Retreat on a Private Beach
About this house rental
Situated in Camden, this charming house for $320 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This great vacation home was custom built in 2016 is ready for your Vacation to Camden. The house is roughly 2,400 square feet with two large covered porches adding an additional 500 square feet of space. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and one first floor bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a King bed with a fantastic view of the water. It has a private bath with a double vanity, a large shower and a cast iron soaking tub. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and shares the hall bath. The hall bath has a double vanity and a shower / tub. The 3rd upstairs bedroom is perfect for the kids. It has a 3 level bunk bed and a pull out bed so it can accommodate 4 kids. They will be fighting over what level of the bunk is theirs :-) The downstairs bedroom is spacious with a queen bed, a desk and plenty of light with 4 large windows. We have blended a modern open floor plan with the period finishes you would expect from a 1920's cottage. Hardwood Maple floors throughout, tastefully done tile in the kitchen & bathrooms. Granite counters and high end cabinetry, chef kitchen with 36" dual fuel range, large old fashion baseboards, large old fashion door & window trim, high ceilings with crown molding, large windows with views of the outdoors and the ocean. The property has plenty of space to explore. It is nicely wooded and has been left natural with several maintained pathways to explore the property. It sits up about 35' above the beach and the stream running down the south side of the property actually has a 10' waterfall as it makes it's way down o the beach. This home and property is a quiet relaxing getaway.

Had a great time our week in Sept. House is well stocked with everything you could need in kitchen. Use of the kayaks was a bonus. Explored the surrounding area with trips to various lighthouses, Camden Hills St Park, took sailboat cruise out of the harbor, day trip to Acadia. Ended up leaving a day early due to approaching remnants of hurricane Lee which is always a risk being on the ocean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this sweet home. The location outside of Camden was perfect for privacy and family time. We enjoyed trips into Camden and traveling up the coast. We were very comfortable in this home (7 guests) and loved the beachfront setting.

Our family vacation in Maine, has come to an end, but the memories made and quality family time spent together in this beautiful home is priceless! This house proved to be magical for all three generations!
For our meals “at home,” we gravitated outside to the beautiful deck, overlooking the wildflowers in the woods and sparkling ocean views. We made use of the kayaks provided, and spent evenings on the patio around the
Solo fire pit, enjoying s’mores.
It’s perfect location near Camden, allowed us to venture out for day trips in both directions, to some of our favorite places.
This is the 6th house I have rented and by the end of the first day, EVERYONE was saying it was their favorite!

Thank you to our amazing hosts. We had an incredible stay in a beautiful home tucked quietly in by the bay. The house was comfortable, clean and most importantly-had everything we needed. If we thought of it; we found it in a drawer or closet. We especially enjoyed Camden! Amazing little town with charm, fun shops and fantastic people. Highly recommend a stay at this home and Camden! Take the lobster tour on the Lively Lady. Well worth it. Thank you again to our hosts.

Camden is a wonderful coastal town. The house is perfect for a family stay, well equipped and pleasant. The grandkids loved kayaking in the cove. Also nearby to a sandy beach and the Camden State Park for hiking.
The driveway could use a little TLC if you have a low ground clearance sedan.

We had a wonderful time at the house in Maine, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, biking, reading and dining in Camden. We saw Bald Eagles, Cat Birds, Goldfinches and heard countless other birds each morning and evening. The house was very clean, contemporary and functional and had all that we needed to enjoy Independence Day in Maine. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house on Penobscot Bay, it was just lovely getting up in the morning and sitting on the deck overlooking the water. We took advantage of the Kayaks, beach area and firepit during our stay which enhanced the visit. This was probably the best equipped house of all the ones we have rented with everything you could need in the kitchen. The local town of Camden is great with many good restaurants.

This was the second time we stayed in this beautiful home near Camden. It had been 6 years since we stayed before and the house was as lovely and well kept as then! It is well stocked throughout, especially in the kitchen!

Visits to Camden, Rockland, Rockport, Belfast, Northport, Searsport and Iselsboro. Mount Battie and Meguntecook Lake were high points. Plenty of room for kids, parents, uncles, aunts and grandparents. Everything we needed was there.

Very nice newer home with a fantastic location just 5 minutes from Camden. Super clean! We stayed with 9 members of our family and never felt crowded, everyone had plenty of space to spread out. Even the smaller queen bedroom upstairs was larger than we were expecting from the photos (although that room gets quite warm because the air flow from the A/C unit in the hall doesn't flow well into that room -- we kept the window open and the fan on at night and that helped). The kitchen is very well equipped -- we do a lot of cooking and found everything we needed. The warnings about the steep steps to the beach are accurate, it is quite a hike, but our kids went down there multiple times each day and had a blast catching crabs and other sea critters. Even my 90 year old grandma made it down there a couple times.

Peaceful stay outside of Camden
The property is described accurately. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the bay. The walk to the water is not for children under 5 or people with mobility issues. The owners are very responsive. One thing to note was the air conditioning. The units are not in the rooms (except the Master). The other two are in the hall upstairs and in the dining area downstairs. It works pretty well, but if you get some warm days, the evenings require you to leave the bedroom doors open to get the air.
Camden is a wonderful area to visit with so much to do. One week was too short. I enjoyed all the magazines, brochures, and books about Maine. Kitchen is wonderfully stocked. And we were pleasantly surprised by the deck outside which is fantastic. Also, the first floor bedroom is tucked away and offers privacy.

Beautiful, well equipped house
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The house, and especially the kitchen, was the best (and highest quality) equipped VRBO that we have stayed in - stainless pots and pans, tons of utensils, and just about any appliance you'd need. The beds were very comfortable, sheets and bedding were high quality, and we had more towels than we could possibly use! We also loved the kayaks and paddleboard. There was tons to do between playing at our beach, seeing Camden and other nearby towns, and hiking at Camden Hills. I would highly recommend to anyone!

This is the nicest house we've stayed in. It is comfortable and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was lovely. The bathrooms were excellent. We loved being able to use the kayaks. The fire pit was enjoyable. Excellent place.

Beautiful home, great location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home is beautiful and has all the amenities needed, and then some. We loved the rocky beach by the house, perfect for viewing sunrises on the bay. Really appreciated the supplied kayaks, and explored the shoreline. Spent several evenings by the fire pit roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. We bought firewood at Hannaford’s in Camden. The backyard was not mowed, but still lovely with bright green ferns and other natural plants. Just be aware that Spring and Summer are prime seasons for ticks, chiggers, and mosquitos. So, definitely use insect repellant if you plan to spend time outdoors in the backyard or by the fire pit.

A peaceful retreat
We LOVED our stay at this amazing house in Camden. The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need; they even had Smore’s skewers!
Our favorite parts of the property were the views of the bay and the beach! My favorite parts of the house were the back porch and “sunroom”. The best part of the vacation was all of the family time and memories made. This was a vacation we will never forget. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for sharing your home!
