Very comfortable home. Dave and Barb were very helpful. Will use this home on next trip to SD. Close to my Rushmore. Crazy Horse. Devils Tower. Sturgess Deadwood. And spearfish. Bullwackets bar was. Fun with good food only 5 mins from home. Saw lots of wildlife from porch. Beautiful views of sunrise and sunset from porch.

The property is in a great location!! The house is in a quiet area and also close to Spearfish, if you need to pick up anything or get a bite to eat. (I recommend the Millstone Restaurant). The location is convenient to not only Spearfish, but Deadwood and Sturgis too! The house had every amenity that you need!! The check in /out was great! Communication with Dave & Barb was good, was nice talking with Dave. He was there to greet us when we arrived! The only thing was that I was not able to get a good night's sleep the whole time I was there because the bed I slept in, you felt all the springs in the mattress and a could not get comfortable at all. I don't know about the other two beds. Overall a great place !!!!

The house itself was great. There was ample room for all of us and it was comfortable. The kitchen layout made no sense and we weren't happy with the lack of bowls/etc. but we made do. The bathrooms were kind of small. The house was clean and we loved sitting on the deck. The biggest problems were check in/check out and, as I like to call it, 'owner intervention.' When I do VRBO, I like to be left alone. The owners here want to physically check you in and check you out. I was delayed but my friend checked in on time - the owner did not notify us that the one door DID NOT LOCK until check in. There was no email notification and no attempt to fix it prior to our arrival. So, we pretty much stayed the entire time with the house unlocked. Then, the owners 'popped in' to change the propane tank on the grill. This should have been done before we checked in, if at all. After that the owner stopped by to see if we minded if they mowed the lawn (yes, we did mind because it was Sunday morning.) They requested that we contact them before leaving so we could do a 'walk through' with them. Sorry, that's what a security deposit is for. All in all, the house was great but the owners seemed nosy and I didn't appreciate having them around much. If you don't mind owner intervention, this might be the place for you. If you are like me and hate people popping in, don't rent this house.

Stayed here with another adult couple Layout was perfect for this Location of property was perfect for many black hills sights - Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, Spearfish canyon, etc. Owners were very friendly and communication was great.

Owners were very friendly and greeted us upon arriving. They were easy to reach in case we needed anything. Property is nicely located in a quiet, beautiful area.

We spent 5 days in this wonderful home. We especially enjoyed waking up early having our coffee and watching the deer. Book this place for your stay in the black hills!!

Property was very clean and well maintained. We stayed while participating in the Spearfish Pine Island Gravel race. The location was ideal for the race and stay in Black Hills

Perfect location, just on the edge of town. Due to rainy weather we were not able to grill out and sit on the decks, maybe next time !

We enjoyed our stay in South Dakota, the location was perfect for the holidays. Barb and Dave were so helpful getting questions answered, checking in and checking out. The home was cozy and provided a great space for our family to celebrate Christmas and my mothers life. Dave and Barb helped make this time for use even more special by helping locate the cemetery, a Sheep wagon and a couple of attractions. We will be back in a warmer time of year. We really enjoyed the stay.

We needed a place to meet and be together with our adult children for Thanksgiving and this cabin was perfect! Prior to booking, all my questions were answered quickly. Booking was a breeze and communication was always pleasant and informative. The cabin is roomy with enough space to all be in the same room or spread out for privacy and the kitchen was perfect for all the Thanksgiving meal prep and cooks. Barb and Dave are wonderful people and if anyone asks me where they should stay while visiting the northwestern Black Hills, Top House will always be my answer.

The home was very comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect and Dave and Barb were awesome to work with. We enjoyed our stay very much and when back in the area will stay here again.

After visiting the area sites, spent the evenings and mornings watching the deer roam the fields. Very nice.

This classic design log cabin retreat was one of the nicer if not the best rental we have stayed in over the years. It is truly a lodge just 10 minutes from Sturgis but also 15 minutes from Deadwood and Lead. It is on paved road and storage for bikes and toys. The lodge is just outside of Whitewood which is a small town with grocery, couple of cafes, 2 gas stations and wildlife in abundance......fantastic stress reliever. It is a fantastic place to base your exploration of the Hills and what they have to offer. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

We truly enjoyed our stay. Dave and Barb were excellent hosts that were prompt to answer any and all questions. Would recommend and stay here again.

The place was nice, communication was challenging for the information said we could check in at 12:00 however was informed not until 3:00 pm! Check out was 12:00 (noon) (contract) but when we checked in we were told we had to leave by 10:00 but ended up checking out at 8:00 am! When we checked we were told we would have to pay an extra 25.00 if we had more than 6! The landlord had prior issues with a customer three weeks ago and ranted and acted we were going to cause issues! Not impressed how we were treated! Overall the home was a great experience however how we were treated was not acceptable!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. The owners were very friendly, and made sure our stay was enjoyable.

We loved all the indoor space that gave our family of 6 adults and 2 dogs plenty of room to spread out or sit comfortably together inside, outside on the ground-floor porch, or upstairs on the outdoor deck. Watching the cows, horses and deer in the pasture or playing outside on the huge grass lawn were favorite activities.
