We make no implied guarantee of connectivity for wireless internet or services provided by a third party. However, we will do everything in our power to remedy any situation as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your understanding. Area Amenities: The Tenants Harbor General Store, is open daily, specializing in morning coffee and pastries, corn, blueberries, native lobsters, fresh-cut meats, firewood, and all grocery supplies. It is only a 10-minute walk, or bring your bike for riding the winding roads for the scenic ocean and island views. This is a pleasantly old and proud Maine community with its own library, school, and fire/rescue department. Knox County Sheriff's Office provides policing services. One-third of all Maine lobsters come from this county, named for General Henry Knox, George Washington's chief artillery officer in the Revolutionary War of 1776. You can learn about him on the peninsula, as well as enjoy programs offered all seasons at Montpelier, the Knox Mansion Museum, located just another few minutes in the nearby coastal town of Thomaston. Heading another 10 minutes down the St. George peninsula is Port Clyde, another fishing village. You will enjoy beautiful ocean views while enjoying an incredible meal on the wharf and delicious ice cream for dessert from the local ice cream shop. In the heart of Port Clyde, you will find adventure waiting for you. Whether it's visiting a local art gallery, enjoying a day on the ocean with the Wyeth by Water Lobster Boat tours, or the Monhegan Island ferry adventures to see Maine seabirds, including puffins and American bald eagles, spending the day at the local Drift-Inn beach or a picnic at Marshall Point Lighthouse; St. George has something for everyone. Here are some things you should know about visiting Maine: Cell phones: Although coverage is getting better, there are some places where cell phones don't have good reception. Chances are you will have service, but just in case, make sure you leave the number of the house you are renting with those who may need to get in touch with you. Coverage with AT&T can be spotty in many areas of Maine. Weather: If you have heard it once, you've heard it a hundred times: if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. It can be hot in Rockland and cool in Port Clyde so make sure to pack a variety of clothes — from a bathing suit for hot days to a sweater for cool evenings. Check out the current local weather at www.weather.com. Bugs: A lot of people ask us if we have mosquitoes...we sure do. But they aren't huge and they don't ruin a vacation. Bring some repellent, or pick some up at the local general stores and you will be fine; usually, you won't even notice them. Dogs: We love dogs around here, but each town has its own rules about pets. Make sure to look for signs stating if dogs are allowed and always have them on a leash. If they leave behind anything, please pick it up, it's not a fun surprise when you are exploring the beautiful shoreline. You can also be fined for not picking up after your four-legged friend. Unwanted animals: You probably have them too, but raccoons and skunks can make you regret last night's lobster dinner. No one wants to pick up old, smelly shells that have been cast out onto the lawn by these cute, but curious and disastrously messy, little guys. So please don't put off placing the trash in the secure trashcans provided. Water: Moonlight Cottage is not on public water supply. It has a well, with a water filtration system, and is tested regularly once a year. Moonlight Cottage is a Saturday to Saturday rental year-round! This home comfortably sleeps 4 people/ max 2 adults.

The property was exactly as described, very clean, well stocked and had great linens! The view and property were the perfect restorative retreat for our family. We'll definitely be booking again next year and giving referrals to family and friends.

This is a small but well furnished cottage in a beautiful setting right on the water. Our only complaint was strangely dim lighting in the kitchen. Otherwise wonderful.

I loved this spot with its charming cottage overlooking the water. Peaceful with terrific views from all points - patio, yard and from inside the house. The interior of the cottage is small but cozy. There’s a nice size w/d - you can do as much laundry as you care to. It can get quite warm inside the house at peak sun times even with the windows open - I ended up lowering the shades for a period during the day. Veronika was generous and responsive. My sole comment is the mattress in the primary bedroom has prominent springs and is depressed in the middle, less than restful and would benefit from an upgrade. Regardless, I confirmed a second stay later in the summer and look forward to returning.

The cottage is well-kitted, with everything you need, and then some. High quality kitchen essentials, nice bedding, wood burning fireplace. A true test of a place is how is it when the weather doesn’t cooperate? That was my week: fogged in and lots of rain. I was comfortable, though, and cozy and dry. I saw the harbor briefly and could imagine how much more amazing this rental could be had I been able to get out on the beach and in the water.
