You will love this exceptional townhouse only minutes from the vibrancy of the downtown village area. The secluded location in a lovely neighborhood assures it will be quiet and relaxing. Delight in the space and luxury of a very nicely appointed home for less than the price of a single slope side hotel room. Take a moment, and take in the spectacular views of Gore Creek from the large living room windows. In spring, summer, fall, and warmer winter days you can relax on comfortable patio furniture, perfect for your morning coffee or evening cocktail. The gas grill on the deck is available for barbeques all year. Both bedrooms are on the upper level, each with premium and very comfortable king size beds. A cozy sitting area between the two bedrooms has a full pull out. The low ceiling loft "fortress," furnished with a comfortable queen mattress, is recommended for older children. Up to 6 people, a maximum of 4 adults, will find very pleasant accommodations. Johnson Ski House is thoughtfully furnished with all amenities you expect: quality contemporary furniture, 3 new large flat screen TVs (in the living area and in each bedroom), a Blue-Ray/DVD player, private high speed Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Sound Bar, and luxurious linens. Approximately 3 minutes away in West Vail are grocery and liquor stores, sporting goods, gourmet coffee options, fast food, popular bars, restaurants, and more. Legendary winter skiing is a given, but do not overlook the wonders of summer and fall in Vail. The condo was quite clean, well stocked with all essential items, and communication was good with the owners. The view of Gore Creek was very relaxing from the back patio and family room. The condo is in a convenient location as we hiked several trails at Vail, Beaver Creek, and Breckenridge driving to the trailhead or gondola/lift locations by rental car. Note that after Labor Day weekend, mountain lifts and gondolas only run on weekends in the area until ski season begins.
Playing golf was a fun activity at EagleVail Golf Club and Vail Golf Club.
For a nice dinner outdoors on a patio we enjoyed Elways. Our Montauk Seafood Grill dinner was delicious also. There is a Safeway Grocery Store nearby. After full days of activities it was nice to come back to the quiet setting of the lovely condo. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to return to the condo next time we are in Vail.

This was our second stay at the Johnson Ski House and it continues to be a lovely townhome on Gore Creek. The location is in West Van, steps from the free town of Vail Bus so no need to drive. The home is very nicely decorated with comfortable furniture, great beds , well appointed kitchen and a nice size laundry room to store skis,etc and a huge washer and dryer. Everything is clean and spotless and the owners are very responsive. This is a small complex with a shared pool and hot tub. There are full time residents so it’s nice and quiet. Gore creek right out your back door with its lovely soothing sounds. It is a great value for Vail! We look forward to staying again!

Very nice condo in older development but well updated and super clean and in a great location. Short drive to Lionshead or an easy 30 min walk along the creek. Property manager was super easy to work with. Great experience all around!

This was our 3rd time staying at this lovely home. We have stayed in a few other places in Vail but keep making our way back here because it is perfect for our family of 5. The host is always so attentive, the home is always so clean, and we always have everything that we need for our stay. We love the location as we can just ride our bikes into the village if we want, and the views/sounds of the creek are the best part. We will definitely be back again!

We cannot speak highly enough about our stay at this unit and it’s gracious host. Not only was it spotless, but you can see how much attention to detail is provided by the owner to ensure a comfortable stay. The unit was very well equipped, accommodations were top notch, and it’s location was most convenient for using the town bus. We’ve been coming to Vail for more than 30 years and can honestly say that we’d more than welcome the opportunity to stay here again.

Excellent location, next to the bus stop to the Vail Village, only few minutes ride. Bus comes every 30 minutes in Dec. Plenty of room in condo, sitting by the fireplace and looking out the window seemed like a National Geographic Movie.

We had a great stay at this location! Many thanks to Kari!! Great beds, great showers, great location, great coffee, great kitchen, great community hot tub etc!! Great communication with Kari and we were able to check in early thankfully. We accidentally left something behind and it’s being mailed to us! We didn’t use the shuttle much but it was right there and we saw neighbors using it. Parking right in front of house. Easy drive to lifts and food. Stay here and don’t worry about what ur getting into!!

Amazing townhome on Gore Creek!
Have been coming to Ptarmigan since the late 70’s. Kari has done a beautiful job on this one. Is well stocked, updated and has everything you could want. And Kari is very accommodating and helpful for questions! Great price as well!

Cozy condo by the Stream
We had 3 adults and 2 children stay and all had plenty of room. The littlest stayed in the upstairs loft and loved it. Stream is right outside your door though you do hear the highway noise as well. Shuttle picks up steps away. Kitchen has everything you need, we did bring food so would have been nice to have a pantry or cabinet space so our things were not out on the counter. These are all small things, I would definitely stay here again and recommend. Kari is fantastic and just a phone call away.

Creekside Delight
This condo is ideal for a stay in Vail with relaxing decor, all needed amenities, comfortable beds, sights and sounds of Gore Creek right behind, and just a few steps to the Vail transit bus stop. The owner is extremely responsive to occupant requests even when those requests come as result of occupant-caused issues (no need to elaborate as we all have our moments). If I return to Vail next summer, this will definitely be my first choice of condo.

We had such a wonderful visit to West Vail! The Johnson Ski house was comfortable, clean, on the river and close to the grocery store (across the street), Vail Village, Minturn etc. We would rent again!!
