The large open great room has ample seating with a full couch and loveseat, 4 chairs and a game table all in colors of white, navy, apple green and pops of coral. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer and a powder room downstairs with access to the 2 car garage. Two large master suites w/full baths complete the downstairs; one with a stand alone soaking tub and both with double sinks and large closets. Both have flat screen TVs. Finished Bonus Room with "SECRET" door! We have finished the bonus room above the garage and added a foosball table and 2 built in twin beds. Three more bedrooms & 2 full baths complete the upstairs: one large King, one Queen with its own ensuite bath with shower and a "family room" with a queen bed, a single bed and a twin bunkbed. Hydrangea has wood floors throughout with in-room area rugs for comfort. Low country front porch allows you to watch the comings and goings of small town Cape Porpoise or you can retreat to the totally private fenced back yard which backs up to the forever wild preserve land of the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. The house is a 1 minute walk to Cape Porpoise Square, Musette Restaurant, Nunan's Lobster Shack, Cape Porpoise Kitchen---best muffins ever with your morning coffee or latte--and Bradbury's market. Two houses up Langsford Rd., you find the wonderful Farm & Table gourmet shop and along Pier Road you will enjoy the Wright Gallery, featuring works of many highly regarded local artists. Stroll past the scenic harbor and up to the pier for great food and libations at Pier 77 Restaurant, the locals favorite--The Ramp sports bar-- and Cape Porpoise Chowder House for fresh, made to order seafood. While there, be sure to enjoy views of the Harbor, the surrounding Islands, Turbatts creek, and the view toward the Bush family compound at Walkers Point. Also make sure you watch the Goat Island light at the Lighthouse, listen for the melodic fog horn, and watch the lobstermen and fishermen bring in their catch. If you want more to do, Goose Rocks beach is 3.6 miles away, Kennebunkport & Dock Square are 2.5 miles away filled with local artisan shops and top restaurants. We had a fantastic stay in this property. Truely an amazing home. Beautifully decorated with tons of space. We were a family of 8 (Mom, Dad and 3 Adult "kids" with spouces). We had more than enough room and excellent kitchen facilitaties. The host was very responsive to all our questions. I can strongly recommend this home for any large group wanting to discover this area of the Maine coast. We also had our dog, as this is a pet friendly property.

Our second stay at Hydrangea House was as satisfying as our first. The VRBO listing is admirably detailed and accurate, but even it does not fully capture the wonderful feeling of the house and the genius of the layout. The open concept of the ground floor, combined with the high ceilings and the second floor gallery, creates a sense both of spaciousness and connectedness that is very relaxing, and is enhanced by the quality and cleanliness of the furnishings. Each of the bedrooms is lovely, and together with the reading/game nooks on both levels there is ample opportunity both to gather and for privacy. And I have never seen a rental with such a great set-up for children, with the two connecting rooms that provide multiple beds- even including two queens who want to sleep near their kids- as well as games, without being crowded. Owner Kevin is a joy to deal with, and Cape Porpoise is a great setting. 5 stars all the way!

We had 11 people, 6 adults, 4 kids ( aged 2.5 - 13) and an infant. Hydrangea house was stocked to provide something for everyone! Tubby time in the BIG deep tub was a favorite after the beach. Location is gorgeous, and close to many different activities. Hydrangea House is the perfect spot to stay with a large group to create wonderful memories. Thank you!
