Their home is beautiful! Cozy! Furnished wonderfully and had everything we needed! They drove us as we needed around the island, helped us unload and load at the ferry. Made us feel quite at home!

My three days on Salt Cay with Cathy were outstanding ! The cottage was impeccable. The island is so very unique. I loved the donkeys and saw the first whales of my lifetime. Think I was fortunate to have found a lovely cottage and wonderful host who went beyond to find a golf cart rental and introduce me to delightful island friends and neighbors . Enjoyed biking around the island and relaxing everywhere I went. I look forward to my next visit to Last Resort.

Nice holliday house
Nice holliday house
We had such a nice time on Salt Cay. Cathy was a big part of this, because she had been so helpful even before we booked her house. Giving good advises on buying flight tickets, what to make sure to bring etc. that made our stay at Salt Cay possible. The house is clean and beautifull and have everything we needed. We really liked the covered patio in the evenings. We also loved having the 4 bikes which we used every day. We hope Salt Cay will stay the same in the future with no resorts, no big cruise ships, just pure island. We loved the diving and snorkeling, all the cute donkeys and all the kind and helpful people that lives on Salt cay. The only thing we would love to see improved on Salt Cay is the way the carbage is handled. Hurricane Irma took the fence around the dump and haven’t been fixed, so you’ll see a lot of carbage in the south part of the island.

We love staying in this home on Salt Cay. The island is not large so you are close to everything. It is peaceful and quiet with the most beautiful beaches in the world within a 10 minute golf cart ride. You cannot go wrong staying here!

Well appointed cottage

Cathy and Ed are excellent hosts, and were thoughtful and helpful during our one week stay. If you've never been to Salt Cay, you'll need a little help figuring out its quirks, and Ed was great about providing guidance, advice , and arranging whatever we needed, including a golf cart rental for a day. The cottage has wonderful ventilation, is clean and nicely furnished. The water in the pipes is rain water from a cistern and is safe and tastes delicious. There are bikes for use, and we used them daily. Plenty of towels and the kitchen was stocked with basics. We loved the privacy and amenities. The location is in the middle of the south settlement, so the ocean is a short walk away, but the island is so small, it doesn't take long to get anywhere on a bike. The yard is enclosed by a wall and is about a quarter of an acre so feels private. There is a crows nest that we enjoyed for sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing. There are a few things a new visitor to salt cay may want to know and be prepared for. The island was devastated by two hurricanes in 2017 and is only very slowly recovering. Luckily this cottage was a survivor, but there is a lot of rubble of homes that have been abandoned and you will see wreckage everywhere except the eastern savannah. It's not easy to get a restaurant meal, fresh fish, or much variety in groceries. The few businesses that are still here have only sporadic and unpredictable hours. Also there are wild cattle and donkeys all over the island, and the multitude of roosters start crowing at 4 am--bring earplugs. But if you are an adventurous soul who loves wild places and exploring, none of this will bother you. You'll have wild beaches and remote trails all to yourself. The bird watching is superb, as is the snorkeling.
