Super emplacement, piscine, l’hôte très sympathique

The host Hervé was very kind and patient to our needs as our youngest got quite sick during our stay. We appreciated his understanding and support as well as the lovely time we got to feed the goats. The view is phenomenal and lovely for breakfast. This is a great stay for people who are traveling alone, want to socialize, and enjoy great views/country life. It is also best for kids 5 and up. It's almost like a lux hostel.

Unfortunately, the pool was green with algae during the majority of the visit. With 2 young kids, we would have appreciated having a heads up about the pool beforehand. The main reason we booked this place was for the pool. If we had known earlier, we would have cancelled our booking completely. In addition, we felt for the price we paid- the quality of the breakfast could have been better. A croissant, baguette, and store bought cheese and confiture/jam was a bit disappointing. In the past, most of our stays in the Vosges gave us amazing homemade options, local farm cheeses, and even soft boiled eggs. Another issue we had was this place was advertised as family friendly but couldn't supply a high chair, playable toys, fans, or a usable kitchen. This was really tough when your child is sick, crying, and you desperately need to cook something. We felt a kitchen shouldn't have been shown in the pics if it couldn't have been used. In the past, we've been supplied with everything above for a much lower price we paid for this place. At the end of the day, we also realize that we were fatigued socially from a long trip and staying with friends (in addition to traveling with two young kids). We realize our fault in this miscalculation and should have just gotten an Airbnb instead. However with that said, do not book this place if you are expecting Airbnb that is private. If you like to socialize and have kids older than 5, this place can work for you.
