About this house rental
Nestled in Lummi Island, this lovely house for $385 per night is a great choice for your next trip. The perfect place for family and group get-togethers as well as a romantic couples retreat. This modern home invites you to relax and take in waterfront views of the shipping lanes, Orcas Island and the Straits of Georgia. The home is decorated with paintings and carvings by the owners and other islanders and captures the multifarious style of Lummi Island in the San Juan Island archipelago. The living room, kitchen and dining room are an open floor concept with large area rugs on hardwood floors creating an open and bright feel with focus on the view through the ocean-facing windows and glass sliders. The dining area seats 8 and the table expands to seat 12. All bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The ground floor is home to the master en suite with king bed and the gallery room with a pair of twin beds. Upstairs there is one king bedroom and one queen bedroom as well as the 3 single beds found in the upstairs entertainment room. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE - There is a ramp we install on the front entrance that allows wheel chairs on the ground floor. Either ground floor bedroom is suitable. The master bath has some special features. Please enquire. Outside the surrounding composite deck is faced with glass panels allowing enjoyment of the view and blocking cool ocean breezes. There are a variety of lounge chairs and tables. The yard is planted with luscious rhododendrons and other perennials. BEACH ACCESS: Across the front lawn, a stairway leads to a beach deck and the beach. 99% of the beach on Lummi Island is private and accessible only via a resident's access. During low tide one can easily walk the beach for a mile or more in a northerly direction. The beach is fantastic for seeing starfish, fishing floats, agates, driftwood, sea otters, bald eagles, sea glass, shells and an occasional orca whale. Very much worth the long drive from Tacoma, Olympia and Seattle. The house is gorgeous, very clean, with every amenity provided. The kitchen really DOES have everything you would need to put together any dish. The views from the yard and every window of the house are stunning. It was very hard to leave. Thank you!!

We had our elderly parents with us along with siblings, spouses and grandchildren.
- Plenty of room, very spacious.
- Easy checkin.
- Lots of deck and backyard space and ocean view from all but 1 bedroom.
- Master bedroom with on suite bathroom was senior friendly. Perfect for elderly parents.
- Other than the BBQ, place was very clean and tidy.
- Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of dishes, pans, pots and lot more!!
- Host was very responsive. BBQ had no gas. Messaged owner and got a full gas tank within 15m.

We had a a great time - the house had everything we needed, with the best views! We saw whales twice, dolphins, seals, and submarines!

I was on the island with my daughter and her husband as well as my sister, my niece, and my nephew. for my son’s wedding. We also had my daughter’s children—(6 and 9) and my niece’s children (5 and 8). We immediately felt at home and had everything we needed. All ten of us had comfortable beds and plenty of space. The setting is lovely and the house is beautifully maintained. It was hard to leave, but I will carry it with me for a long time.

The only thing I warn for anyone how has issues with steps, there are 70 steep steps down to the beach not shown in the pictures. But if you have no issues with stairs don’t let this deter you, the view at sunset is worth it!

Spacious and well equipped home with gorgeous views in tranquil setting. We were 2 small families (4 adults + 3 kids ages 2,5,6).
First time to Lummi Island and in many ways more convenient than our prior trips to the San Juan’s. The value was superb for the views, overall living space, and quality of kitchen appliances.
Host was very responsive to the few needs/issues we had (extra garbage bags, accidentally locked bedroom).
A few heads up for those considering booking
-the beach access is down a lot of steep stairs (they are in good condition but would have been daunting for some)
-we found the beach to be quite rocky even during low tide… So great for our kayaks but not so much for hanging out particularly with young children. Short drive to sandier Sunset Beach solved this on both days :)
-the yard is beautiful but not fully fenced, meaning our rambunctious toddler often ran into the neighbors yards and We had to stay close when he ran close to the Cliff edge which is landscaped but again not secure)

Right on the beach with western view to the islands, great crabbing. Bring your sea kayak. Stay as many nights as you can. This is a splendid home nestled on the shores of Lummi Island. It is exquisitely well appointed with lovely kitchen cooking space, top of the line appliances, Barbecue on the deck, patio furniture with capacity to gather all around the table. On the walls are very well done paintings of many destinations in the world celebrating diversity and grace of human connections. Sleeping accommodations were perfect for grown up relatives and they even had portable baby crib for napping for our 7 month old grand son who came for picnic on the deck with all his aunts and uncles and grandparents accompanied by his parents on Saturday. We saw eagles, seals, hawks, deer, and heard many birds singing in the morning light. Some of our party hiked the island and discovered much of the flora and fauna around Lummi Island. It was a pure gift to be able to gather for our reunion and reconnection of family from Arizona, California, Nebraska and Seattle. THANK YOU!!

On one evening of our stay we saw movement in the water and thanks to the spotting scope provided we were able to watch a pod of orca whales dance in the water. We felt right at home in this beautiful haven. The cupboards were well stocked and all other amenities well supplied.
