Situated in Orland, this charming cottage for $257 per night is a great option for your next break. Stonehill Cottage is charmingly located on pristine Toddy Pond. Facing the sunset, the house gets lots of daytime sun to enjoy on the deck or down by the water. Dive off the deep-water dock, paddle and swim the clear water, relax and listen to the loons. Indoors, the spacious living area encourages more relaxation -- six double doors open onto the lake view allowing for fresh air and sun into a double living room that provides plenty of room for everyone and a full size dining room that easily seats eight people. A fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill allow for cooks of all types to prepare meals. Bedrooms include one bedroom downstairs with twin beds and two bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed but both with lake views. Each bedroom upstairs has its own private bathroom. An upstairs seating area provides another spot to enjoy the lake view. This house is truly comfortable and provides a great home base to enjoy the lake and Maine's beauty. Very family friendly with fairy houses in the yard and toys for kids. The house is 1.5 miles down a well-maintained, dirt road. There are about six steps down from the driveway to the house that is built into a hill. Please note that drinking water must be brought in as lake water is not potable.

My family had a great time at this house. We enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen, watching movies in the big, comfy living room, and using the kayaks on the pond. It's a very comfortable and pretty house with great views.

Only good things to say about this stay. Location is great, clean and quiet. The house is cute, beautiful and unique. The decor is very cozy, there's so many comforts included & in great condition. Communication was great & the owner is very accommodating & helpful. We loved firepitting looking out at the pond & relaxing in the hammock. There's wood for sale everywhere cheap. We were lucky to have a hot week in September to go swimming. It was a bit hot in the upstairs bedrooms with the ac only downstairs but we used the fans. We didn't find the remote for the high hallway ceiling fan until we checked out. It was a wonderful 3 nights, we wish we could've stayed longer but would love to stay again sometime, maybe with family members.

Great location on toddy pond. Very quiet, except for the loons The house was immaculate , very clean.The dock at the laje was great also. It was deep enough to dive in . The dock also came in handy, because i like to bring a 16 ft fishing boat to get around. the 7 mile lake. They had lots of inner tubes a d kayaks were alot of fun too. We hope to stay again next summer....

This beautifully furnished and well stocked cottage was perfect for our small family vacation. The lake was easily accessible, and we enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle board. We appreciated how well provisioned this cottage was, as everything from beach towels to puzzles, games and books were available for our use. I loved the peace and serenity of the lake, and listening to the loons call every evening. Stonehill Cottage was a wonderful place to rest, relax, and enjoy time at Toddy Pond with family.

We loved waking up and having coffee by the pond on foggy mornings. Beautiful location and a beautiful drive to more touristy hotspots. The host was very responsive to minor issues we had along the way.

The property was located in a beautiful location. GPS is not very effective in finding this location. The 3 of us ranged in ages 64-84, the steps going down to the house where a little difficult to manuve with luggage. But it was overall it was a fabulous place to stay.

The relaxing getaway we needed!
Stonehill cottage was the perfect place to unplug with my family and get back into nature! The home is super comfortable and welcoming with everything you need, including tons of fun toys for littles, for hours of entertainment! The view can’t be beat and we loved jumping into the kayaks and taking a paddle around the pond! The location is perfect, not too close to busy tourists areas but only a short drive to Acadia. So happy we found this little gem in Maine!

Stonehill is in a beautiful spot away from any highway. It’s a typical scenic Maine camp location I grew up with, but more comfortable and modernized. Roomy and well equipped. Great place to celebrate our 50th anniversary and host family visiting from around the area

Magical spot on the Pond
This house was so comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. Loved waking up to the view of the lake and loved watching the magnificent sunsets. My boys had such a great time with the paddleboards and kayaks.

Stonehill Cottage is an outstanding property. Extremely comfortable, clean, spacious, perfectly equipped for just about any cottage activity you can imagine; even rainy days. Susan was great host and very accommodating.

Peaceful and Charming
At the end of the long dirt road you arrive to a charming home, right on gorgeous Toddy Pond. House is decorated with antique cottage style, bedrooms are clean and comfortable, deck, dock and swim area are West facing so warm/hot if sunny for most of the day. Ceiling fans in bedrooms helped on hot nights. House has all water activity needs : multiple types of boats and life jackets, floats etc. house sits on a hill side, so if you do have a toddler or older people in your group, it could be a little difficult to manage the up and down to the lake. Susan was helpful and house is homey, loved and perfect for a family getaway.

Perfection on Toddy Pond
This is such a wonderful home. The location on Toddy Pond is spectacular - the sunrises and sunsets and the loons serenading you can't be beat. Quick drives to multiple local attractions (Acadia, Stonington, Blue Hill, and more), but be sure to save plenty of time for relaxing on Toddy Pond.

Nothing like a lake view
Enjoy our stay at Stonehill. The lake was awesome and my entire family enjoyed swimming and using kayaks. We enjoyed relaxing and going to Fort Knox and observatory along with trip to Acadia. Maine is great and the house perfect for our needs. We will be back to Maine again

Vacation with the kids
Stone hill Cottage is really beautiful - the pictures don’t quite capture how wonderful it is. The lake was so much fun for everyone and it was fun to relax and be together. The house itself is spacious and well decorated - there were great spaces to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. All in all we would absolutely go again and highly recommend this cottage!

Really nice lakeside house and location! Clean, spacious, well-kept. Spent a weekend here in early October. Like many places in rural Maine, it was somewhat challenging to find the house (be sure you read the written instructions the owner sends you! Even with that it was a little bit of an adventure), but well worth it.

This was our 4th visit to this beautiful cottage. Toddy Pond is a wonderful, peaceful lake in Maine that we adore. The house was impeccable upon arriving and we enjoyed our stay. The owners have added access to their kayaks which was great. This location is perfect for exploring Acadia National Park, Fort Knox, Camden and much more.

Perfect family vacation!
This was the perfect vacation spot for our family. The house is well appointed, large dining table and living area. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook a meal. We cooked on the grill and enjoyed breakfast on the deck while listening to loons. The lake had a shallow entry for my grand daughter and she caught her first fish from the dock. The three bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy and comfortable. Some of us stayed behind to kayak and some of us headed to Acadia to hike. We ended our days by the campfire listening to loons while we shared stories of our day. Wonderful memories for the memory bank Susan is a wonderful host. We will be back next year.

Loved everything about Stonehill Cottage and Toddy Pond
My husband and I took our three boys to Maine expecting them to love Acadia National Park, fresh lobster, and the beautiful coastline. But Stonehill Cottage will be what fills their memories of our trip to Maine! While we certainly loved all that Maine has to offer, we loved our time relaxing on the dock, swimming, paddling, and watching beautiful sunsets most of all! The house itself was set up perfectly for guests, was comfortable, well organized, and had everything we needed to feel relaxed and “at home”. Susan and Liam provided great recommendations for local restaurants and spots to visit. The location was great for going out to explore Maine but getting our boys in the car was the challenge. Why leave the perfect spot right there on Toddy Pond?!?! It really was a lovely vacation, and we are already wishing we were back! Thank you for sharing Stonehill Cottage with us. We cannot wait to return!

Great house, off the beaten path.
Very nice vacation rental. Quiet, comfortable, and roomy. Enjoyed the evenings by the lake at the fire pit listening to the loons. We probably spent less time here than we anticipated due to our daily visits to nearby towns and Acadia. Nicely situated for Mt. Desert Island and surrounding towns. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for solitude and relaxation.
