Best Value Air conditioned 2/2 on the golf course in Kona Keauhou Palena is located adjacent to the Kona Country Club and within walking distance of Keauhou Bay. It has its own pool and workout room. Keauhou Shopping Center with a KTA Supermarket, Regal Movie Theater and a variety of restaurants and shops is less than a mile away. This 2/2 unit sleeps 5. Condo has brand new California King bed in the main bedroom and two brand new twin beds in the second bedroom as well as a brand new couch in the living room. With a new split AC system, it is one of the few air conditioned units in this complex. It features a modern kitchen with a large indoor eating area. The oversized lanai looks out on the golf course. It’s perfect for outdoor grilling and dining. Located along the Kona Coast, Keahou Palena is your perfect headquarters for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii. Activities in and around Kailua-Kona include golf, snorkeling and scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, sunset cruises, whale watching, parasailing, jet skiing, hiking, theater, movies, shopping, cultural activities, and restaurants. We have rented this condo 3 times for 3 months because of location. Perfect for us as we paddle for a canoe club that we can walk to.
Condo itself? The complex itself has a great manager, Jay, and grounds are meticulously maintained. The condo - inferior to others in complex. (We have rented in 3 others).
However, Not renting again. Each year fees go up and upkeep of this unit goes down. We are told by owner what a “deal” we are getting. It is very tired. One example: Lanai furniture has never changed-plastic fold up table, sun bleached, discolored plastic chairs. Look around at other lanais in same complex. Amenities- scarce. Fry pans so scratched- unsanitary for use. Coffee pot bottom burned. Towels & sheets threadbare, one thin blanket, garbage disposal kept breaking-we reset each time.When we asked items were supplied. The question being? Why did we have to keep asking. If you have reasonable cleaning standards, they will not be met here. Incidentally, checked area cleaning fees—-highest in area.
We have rented another, comparable, but very updated condo for less money. Regardless of what is said, they are available.
If staying for a short stay/ doable. Longer? I’d look elsewhere.

The property was clean, spacious, in a great location to Kona and amenities and very well furnished Our unit would be perfect for a family of 3/4. The lanai is large and we enjoyed breakfast outside every morning with a beautiful view. Overall very pleased with our choice and a special mention to Meredith and Scott for their assistance during our stay.

Got message while flying that the water heater was broken and could not be fixed for 3 days. After the 3 days, no one called or showed up. WE called and were told it would be another 2 days until it could be fixed We had to go to another unit to shower We canceled and went to an Air BNB where we could shower in our unit. Very unfortunate because the unit was nice

Perfect location for us. The bay and our paddle club are a 5 minute walk.
Private, yet very accessible for all the opportunities around you
We are very physically active all day, so it is nice to arrive home and enjoy the peace and quiet afforded here.

A wonderful and affordable rental.
This was a great rental in Kona for a family of 4...the air conditioning was wonderfully quiet. This condo was clean neat, an adequately stocked. The only issue was the two loads of laundry required was feasible for an early flight- only one wash was completed of the sheets.

The unit was a perfect size for a family of 4. The balcony overlooking the golf course was huge and very pleasant for eating outside at the table.
It was further from the downtown area than we thought. We had to drive everywhere we went.

Some of the snorkeling gear and other beach gear needs replacing but we brought some of our own snorkel gear and found enough at the condo to add to it. Love Kona! Definitely Best Value as Advertised
Condo had everything needed for a family of four. Washer dryer was great, kitchen well stocked, outdoor grill worked great, nice spacious patio, a/c worked as promised. Some of the snorkeling gear and other beach gear needs replacing but we brought some of our own snorkel gear and found enough at the condo to add to it. Love Kona! Such a relaxing place for a family vacation!

Entry system was easy to use. We had to call Spectrum to get the WiFi and cable to work properly but the number to call was in the welcome book and they were easily reached.

This is a well kept property with everything you need! Located on the golf course, gorgeous sunsets and sunrises (you are allowed walk down to lava beach on golf course after 5 p.m. to watch unobstructed sunset--locals do it daily). Pool is easy to find. Having the AC was great! The washer dryer was new and very useful! Shopping center right up the street with KTA grocery store, drug store, restaurants, etc. Very convenient. It is a very short drive to Kalauu Snorkel beach and a short drive to Magic Sands beach. We would stay here again in a a heartbeat!
This is a top floor unit. The 2nd bedroom with two twins is really best for kids. Our 8 and 11 year olds were happy there. It would be a squeeze for adults, and one wall of the 2nd bedroom is an accordion divider from the living room that can open during the day. King in the master was comfortable and great. LOTS of pillows! The pull out couch would not be a comfortable option for someone's bed for a week. We tried it one night and it sleeps like an old pull out couch. But we didn't need it and were *very* happy with the accommodations overall.

I’m a 24 year veteran truck driver, but I came in late, in an unfamiliar rental car, parking in a dark parking area that has many shadows bcuz of the upslope. Totally left a bad taste in my mouth. This unpleasant encounter was quickly followed up by a friendly text from the property manager about the same issue. I explained the situation, she was very nice and probably saved the rental. Overall- good locale, well stocked condo as advertised. Long term residents were very friendly with great activitity suggestions.

We live in Kona so we are spoiled. The place was adequate for the 3 week stay. There is no water view, but if you like a golf course view it is there for you. Easy walk to a shore and shopping.

Great stay
We had a pleasant week staying in this lovely condo. Location was perfect with beach, shopping and pool nearby. Beautiful golf view lanai and quiet neighborhood. Rooms are clean and well maintained with new A/Cs. Internet and Cable TV was down when we arrived but the Property Manager took care of it quickly. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back again.

We spent a week at this property in March 2021, on our first outing after getting fully vaxxed. The Big Island was a great place to start and this property was perfectly located. It is indeed a big island but this was just central enough to make our trips north and south work well, and far enough from the larger Kailua-Kona bustle. We didn't drive to the Hilo side, and that would have been a bit more of a challenge.
The golf course made for a pleasant view from the lanai, and we played it a couple of times. The walk up to the local shopping center was easy although a number of shops were still closed or limited hours when we were there; perhaps better now. Walks down to the bay were very nice especially early in the day when cooler. The unit was very well equipped and we lacked for nothing during our stay. I will agree with another reviewer about the "second bedroom" being a little misleading with its accordion closure and bordering on the lanai, so not really a great deal of privacy. However we were just a couple and used it for sorting gear for our next outing etc so it was fine. Not sure where occupants 5 and 6 would sleep though, unless you sleep 4 on the king bed. But other than that, nothing negative to report at all.

Well the first day was a little rough one neighbor was not really that friendly lol. Under the master bed was a container of some stuff well the tv finally got to understand how to use it lol. In short we had a blast adventure most of all the kids enjoyed it so much the best part was the pool wow. Thank u so much for letting us book the place happy new years

Perfect location
The condo is exactly how it was presented. It is older and small, but it’s in a great location within walking distance down to the water and up to the shopping center. The king size bed was comfortable, but the second room really isn’t a complete room. It has an accordion type door that is supposed to shut it off from the living area. It was fine for my son, however. There were boogie boards and snorkeling gear, which was nice as we all went boogie boarding one day. Check-in was easy as well as checking out. The only concern I have is that on the instructions it stated that the owner uses scent free detergent only and we were told not to bring our own as they didn’t want any scent. I appreciate that. However, when we got there, the detergents and laundry sheets were incredibly scented, which made it difficult to sleep on the sheets or use the towels since they had such a strong smell. I’m not sure if the owner is aware of this or not. I ended up washing our sheets a few times in just plain hot water to try to get rid of the smell. That might not be an issue for some people, but I don’t like artificial smells. That would be the only downfall of our stay. It waa a great deal overall!

Home away from home
This unit became our home away from home for almost two months. For the age of the complex the unit was reasonably maintained. The a/c would most definitely be at the top of our list for a feature we couldn’t live without. The area was very quiet, friendly neighbours, outside areas well kept and maintained by Jay and his team. The company responsible for the unit Trude, Scott and team were great. They were good listeners but also acted on a few minor repair issues promptly.sunsets from the lanai always enjoyable.

Lovely condo
This condo was well equipped and very comfortable. The location on the course was quiet. A short walk led to the ocean and a beautiful vista. We were very content with our stay and would recommend it for a relaxing stay. Thank you.

Condo is homey and comfortable
A little hiccup at the start of our stay was quickly rectified by Trude Fawson, her attention to the matter was handled with care and kindness.
We enjoyed our stay in the condo, it quickly felt like home.
It took a couple of days to become accustomed to the noise of the golf course maintenance but why let the small things get in the way of a great vacation?
We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
