About this condo rental
Situated in New London, this charming condo for $159 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This brand new, modern and spacious 1 bedroom waterfront apartment is situated on Military Highway right on the Thames River. Explore the most popular landmarks of Groton including the USS Nautilus Museum without the need for a car, Everything is just around the corner. Every once and a while a train will go by but isn’t very often. This 900 square foot apartment was fully renovated in September of 2020 It is located on the river side and is a walkout basement apartment in a property with the separate upstairs being another rental unit on the coast of Groton with a view of the Thames River right out the front window! The apartment features modern furnishings and appliances, vinyl floors, 2 wall-mounted TV's, air conditioner, 2 queen beds, in the bedroom, and one queen in the living room, and a air mattress The kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave along with all of the necessary dishes, glassware and utensils you will need. The kitchen is also appointed with counter top appliances such as a toaster, coffee machine, rice cooker, and a stir fry steamer. Clean linens and towels, coffee, tea, soap, shampoo and paper products are provided to all guests. This in law unit has another VRBO unit upstairs. We ask that all guests enjoy themselves but be respectful of their neighbors. We have taken as many sound-proofing measures as possible between floors and units, but noise may occasionally be heard as in any multi-unit building. Please keep this in mind if you are very easily disturbed or require absolute silence.

The unit itself was functional, though not very well appointed with kitchenware or bedding. The view is stunning and proximity to the submarine museum is a definite bonus.
Upon arrival, we had not received check in instructions via VRBO or directly from the property manager so we weren't able to access the unit until we found someone upstairs an hour after we attempted to check in.
Also upon arrival, there was food from previous renters in the refrigerators and old pizza boxes on top of the fridge that hadn't been taken out. No recycling and garbage outside door was knocked over by a critter in the night making for a big mess that we had to clean up.
Generally it was okay and the view is beautiful but could use some refining. Perhaps okay for the price.

Everything was perfect! This place is clean, conveniently located and the views are breathtaking. The owner was fantastic and made us feel at home. Can't wait to come back again!

I received my confirmation and drove to the location with the door pass code and found someone in my unit. Manager claims VRBO never notified him of this booking which I don't believe. I received at least 4 emails about this booking, do you not send a confirmation to the owners? This left my special weekend for my anniversary in shambles. My wife was very disappointed in me. So she went and booked another hotel 15 miles away. When I called VRBO they offered me a nights stay some where but my wife already booked a room with no refund. I asked them to apply the 1night stay to the new location. So I got screwed 2x's on the same day. This was a horrible experience, we deserve better

Location was perfect. Loved the sounds from the naval base in the early moring, 7:50, and 8:00 am. A key concern was pulling out on to the road from the drive way. The bushes needed trimming. A left turn could be deadly. Visibily was so compromised when turning out of the driveway. I would consider that issue a priority in a return visit. And just a side note, there was insuficient tolet paper. Still love the location, and will return.

Home and property are very nice. 2 minutes from the submarine and naval base. 15 minutes from mystic aquarium. Easy access to local stores. Owner was very nice. Train went by at 10pm and 2 am the days we were there. Overall, a very a nice place.

We had an awesome stay. The River view is gorgeous and the submarine in the distance is an added bonus. Just the right size for a family of 4. We were initially a little concerned about how close the train tracks run to the house, but the train only went by twice while we were there earlyish in the evening and again in the mid morning and it was fun for the kids to watch it go by.

The waterfront locations is lovely, and the bedroom and kitchen were clean well equipped. I knew about the potential for trains to pass by overnight and was willing to take a chance, but we had trains at 10:30pm and 2:30am. Around 6:15am I awoke to the sound of footsteps and running from the family upstairs. It was loud enough to wake me and prevent me from getting back to sleep.
One concern on cleanliness: the shower curtain looked quite dirty or moldy at the bottom, as did the fan vent in the bathroom.

Great space in a wonderful location. Excellent jump off spot for daily excursions or for lounging and enjoy the picturesque views. We watched Swans, Mergansers, Scaup and a juvenile Bald Eagle While there. We were very pleased to have stayed here.

Great location on the Thames river in Groton, right next to the Submarine museum. Place was clean with three large beds and nice patio outside right on the river. Be prepared for freight trains running right by the apartment at night. We had one at 1030pm and 230 am which was surprising and interesting. We were able to fall right back to sleep.

We had a lovely time staying at this apartment. It was quiet and had a beautiful view of the river! There were lots of boat sightings and we were able to see a submarine go by which was very cool! Kids loved it! Lots of room, beds were comfortable, great kitchen space, and outdoor space! Would absolutely recommend! We were two families of 4 and slept comfortably and had lots of space!

The Gold Star Memorial Bridge, United States Coast Guard Academy, Connecticut College, USS Submarine Nautilus Museum and the US Submarine Base New London are all within view of this property located on the banks if the Thames River. We had the distinct pleasure of seeing two (2) Submarine’s depart from the Sub Base as well as other marine traffic going up and down the Thames river. We also had the pleasure of hearing the USCG Academy and the US Submarine Base play the National Anthem as they raised & lowered the American Flag during morning and evening colors. On occasion a train would also go by the property on the tracks just below the yard. Our dogs loved the property too as we didn’t always have to have them leashed. The yard was a somewhat secure and restricted area for them to walk. The apartment was well equipped having everything you would need. The outdoor amenities included two (2) seating areas to enjoy the view, dinner or an intimate glass of wine. Overall, the property was a very relaxing, enjoyable and peaceful place to stay. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning again.

Great property with a gorgeous views on the river. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space. The only small thing was the noise from having people living above but if you are prepared for it you will have no problems. Overall, great experience and great host.

Get pit stop on our way to Maine
We stayed here on our way to Maine. 2 adults, 5 kids. There are 2 rooms. One bedroom with 2 beds and one room with a bed, living area and kitchen. Wish we were here longer. Lovely sunset views.

The house is clean, the view is spectacular and we had the chance to meet and speak with George, the owner while we were enjoying the sunset from the deck! We will be back!

Property was nice and great location. Couple of improvements could be made (bed squeaky and uncomfortable, could smell septic periodically, smelled pot from upstairs) but nothing that rates a poor experience.
