About this house rental

Located in Foster, this lovely house for $388 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. ABOUT WOODLAND MIRTH Woodland Mirth is situated only 5kms from the centre of Foster and 30 mins from the Wilsons Promontory gate. Nestled in amongst 2 acres of bush land garden; Woodland Mirth Holiday Retreat is the perfect place to relax and escape the pressures of everyday life. Woodland Mirth offers all of the convenience and luxuries of modern life in a Victorian style bush land setting and is perfect as a romantic getaway or holiday location for a group of friends or family. The house boasts four bedrooms with queen size beds; all are appointed with quality linen and towels. The upstairs master bedroom has a large ensuite with a spa bath and separate shower; it also has a covered outdoor upper deck area with views over the back garden. The downstairs master bedroom has views of the pool area and garden as well as its own ensuite. The other two bedrooms are spacious (one with open fireplace), and access the third bathroom, which is complete with oversized shower and beautiful Victorian clawfoot bath.  Downstairs there are opening glass doors off the kitchen that lead to a large outside deck where you can enjoy a view of the gardens and glimpses of Corner Inlet. The main living space at Woodland Mirth is open plan and consists of a well appointed quality kitchen with stone bench tops and three oven cooker, large dining room and lounge, with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the pool area that can be accessed through a single glass door to the garden and pool area This space is perfect for gathering with friends and family or relaxing in front of the wood fire stove. The pool area is private and consists of an Asian style pool house with outdoor table and benches that will seat 8 people for dinner. The swimming pool and outdoor spa is salt chlorinated and the perfect place to cool in summer or enjoy a steamy soak in winter. The cedar sauna is also situated in the pool area as is the BBQ cooking space.  Woodland Mirth is surrounded by beautiful gardens, including a vegetable and herb garden, which you are free to use. There are many lovely spots to take a wander through and watch the native birds and animals. You are welcome to bring your family dog to Woodland Mirth, however due to the polished timber floors, dogs are not permitted inside. There is an enclosed yard and shelter outside for dogs to stay in. Medium size dogs will be able to be kept within the fenced area. larger dogs may be able to jump the fence so should be kept on a lead. Please note: Woodland Mirth Holiday Retreat backs onto a creek, has fountains, ponds and a large dam. This may be dangerous for unattended small children. Please consider the age of your children or capacity to monitor them before making a booking. Please note that there are no laundry facilities available for guests to use at Woodland Mirth. This is because we are on tank water and water shortages can apply at any time of the year. We prioritise the use of drinking water and all pool water must be supplied by the tanks on site. There is a laundromat in the township of Foster, just 5km away that can be used by guests and is open 6am -10 pm everyday of the week. All drinking water at Woodland Mirth is rainwater, some guests prefer to bring their own bottled water.

I stayed at Woodland Mirth with my bridal party prior to my wedding at Gurneys Cider. The house was fantastic & loved by all. Although close to the road, it is private & secluded. The gardens provided many opportunities for pre wedding photo shoots. Will look to hire again.

A stylish holiday house with big bedrooms. Good communications with the host Lisa, a quick action from Tim to get the problem solved in couple of minutes, so appreciated. The house is close to the town, we had breakfast twice at the same local cafe which was recommended by our host Lisa, eight of us really enjoyed stay and meals.

First impression, please trim the plants in the driveway so they don't scrap along the side of our new cars. Our second impression walking into the house was the unclean state of the premises. Bottle left lying around, the floors having not appeared to have been cleaned (cobwebs everywhere) and outdoor glass around the pool filthy. No instructions were left on the premises to guide us along regarding pool requirements and other home instructions. (Owner did apologize for this upon contact). No advice given on the web site stating no laundry facilities on premises i.e. washing machine etc. Being 8 adults, staying 5 days supplied only with 1 towel per person for 5 days did not go over well. 2 tea towels to dry the dishes (even though dishwasher was there) and no facilities to wash them are not workable. After talking to the owner, she informed us that laundry facilities were not available due to the shortage of tank water (understandable) and the advertised outdoor picture screen was removed due to constant damage so, why not update the web site? Again, do not state on the web if it is not there and why not advise this to potential clients so they can cater for this. The utensils need upgrading badly i.e. fry pans, saucepans etc. Not a huge expense. A safety issue getting into the spa pool was very evident for us seniors. A safety rail to grip onto for anyone (not just seniors) would have assisted greatly to enter and exit the spa. The premises are in need of maintenance in an out. Bi -fold doors having a sign not to open due to issues is again not acceptable (appeared to be an issue for some time). Apart from one shower the other 2 were very poor pressure to the point of slow trickles leading to all of us sharing the best shower. To be frank the premises need some tender loving care to bring it up to a standard you can accept when paying the rate required. Especially when paying for cleaning services in the rate. Now you may think that this was a total loss and I am being harsh, but having stayed in other Stays accommodation we are well aware of the standard required. Now for the good points. The location of the premises is fine, as long as you have a car. The house layout was great. Tranquility was great and we did have a good time, but the issues did detract from the overall experience, With the issues cleared up it would be ideal for a quiet getaway.
