About this cottage rental
Nestled in West Cape May, this charming cottage for $450 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Our house (519 Bank St.) is wonderfully located 2 blocks from Washington Commons and 5 blocks from the beach overlooking the Atlantic. We are in a quiet neighborhood. The house is clean and well maintained, perfectly suited for your family vacation. The Master suite, just renovated in 2019,(queen bed) in back of the house has a full bath (also renovated in 2019) and private entrance. The door leads out to a morning sun deck. The outdoor dining set and BBQ were purchased in 2020. The deck also leads directly to the kitchen(all brand new appliances in 2021) so you can enjoy that morning cup of coffee as the kids sleep. The deck looks out over a large grassy backyard with a huge shade tree, great for an afternoon nap. The middle room has 3 twin beds total. 2 beds and a trundle bed that is fantastic for siblings or their friends. Cable TV and WIFI in all 3 bedrooms. The front bedroom is another queen bed that has charm and easy access to main bath and fully equipped kitchen. House has central A/C. There is a private driveway can fit 2 cars. The main bathroom was completely renovated in 2017 with tile, flooring and new bath. In 2023 we added a brand new washer and dryer. Linens/towels are not provided. You will love the easy access to town/beach with all it's great restaurants and Victorian houses. Dogs are considered as long as they are well behaved and a certain weight. There is a pet fee of $200 at time of booking. Dogs love hanging out in the fenced in backyard. The private driveway has room for 2 cars.

It is a very comfortable house with a great yard. 2 bathrooms is such a plus with multiple adults staying. The additional entrance from the back bedroom to the deck was helpful since we had a 5 month old who was awake way before most of us!

Bigger than it looks from the outside. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Fully equipped kitchen has everything we needed. The back deck with barbecue, table and chairs was wonderful. And for our dog, the fully enclosed high fence the back yard made watching him so easy.

Myself, my husband, my mother and father in law, and our infant son had a wonderful long weekend staying here. The house was the perfect size for us, and the yard was great for the dog. Kevin was extremely responsive with any house questions, and also provided lots of local tips. This is the perfect home base if you want to be walkable to town and the beach. We will certainly be back!

Overall, this is a wonderful property that would be a great for a couple or family - especially if you have a small dog. The property itself is clean and located just a couple of blocks from the main part of town. The beach is a few blocks beyond that, but still walkable. The cottage has sleeping for about 6 people comfortably. The property has a fully fenced back yard that's very roomy - our dog enjoyed it. Two bathrooms.
Beyond that overall review - we individually had a minor issue checking in at the cottage, and there was construction of a new home next to the rental while we were there, which as a nuisance. The property owner was very responsive to these matters. We would return and stay here again.

The property is as advertised but I won't rent it again or recommend it. The Host does not provide Bed Sheetz, No pillow cases, No towels house or beach. As a VRBO Host myself, I know a big part of the cleaning fee is laundry. This Host has no laundry to do so why the hefty cleaning fee? Bathroom exhaust fans are none existent or not working properly. House stink for 20 minutes each time any toilet is used.

We experienced a wonderful relaxing week in this cozy cottage. Fabulous location- easy walk to beach, shops, theatre and grocery store. Fenced in yard is perfect for furry friends! Layout provides private spaces- but is cozy and intimate enough to invite real family time! One bedroom has to be passed through in order to enter main space-but that is easily solved due to extra doors that enable the guest to both let the dog out with ease AND cut across to main/kitchen space without necessarily having to cut through 3rd bedroom, if need be. There is also an additional fridge in the main bedroom- which may prove very helpful to many! No dryer, yet hanging out clothes was not difficult. We couldn't figure out the oven(temperature/preheat) but it certainly worked!That was really our only snaffu- and is easily solved for future. We loved it there! We plan to go back, already! Kevin was a wonderful host and cottage was everything we hoped for! We strongly recommend this cottage, especially if you desire not to drive- you can walk to everything!!! :) BIG THUMBS UP!!!

Tranquil property close to everything!
Kevin's house is a simply and peaceful traditional shore house. Everything was very clean and everything we needed was in stock. Kevin was very responsive. Best part was the proximity to town and the beach. Be sure to try 410 Bank St for dinner!

Amazing location in the heart of Cape May
If you are looking for a great spot that is within walking distance to the mall, the beach, and all of the great restaurants and bars, Kevin's cottage is a great option! It is just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown, on a peaceful side street. The house itself is simple, quiet, and provides everything you need for a relaxing stay. Kevin was a great host, checking in with us throughout our stay and sharing events in the area for us to check out. He made the entire process very easy!

Charming cottage in a convenient location
This house was perfect for my family’s long weekend in Cape May. The bathrooms were recently remodeled and are lovely. We were able to walk to almost anything from this home. The Mall is only a couple of blocks and the beach only a couple blocks further. The owner was very attentive and communicated well. The check in / out process was a little awkward but it worked and all went smoothly.

The property is in need of major maintenance. The front door doesn't close properly without being slammed. The back door lockset broke while we were there. They did fix it immediately but it seems that they wait for things to break completely. The description online says there is a dishwasher. However, upon arrival, there was a printed document explaining that the dishwasher works except for the top rack. The complete dishwasher wasn't working. I told the owner and he said "oh, I guess it must have completely broken". The outside deck on the grass is rotting away as displayed by the boards bending when you walk on them. The kitchen floor was filthy upon arrival and we were told that we had to be out by 9 AM for Covid deep cleaning when we checked out. In addition, we were told we had to wait for check-in due to the extensive cleaning. That was a complete lie. When we left at 9:10 AM we drove by two hours later and the cleaners were gone. Some extensive cleaning. The bathrooms were updated recently, the common bathroom had a broken shower curtain and the master bathroom didn't have a floor mat. Also, note that in order to get to the master bedroom you have to go thru the middle bedroom or use the door on the deck. I would say the owner needs to drop the price for the unit or cleanup/modernize the place. There is a rotting beach cart in the yard and disgusting lounge chairs stacked up against the house that was white at one time and now appeared dark gray with mold. I would never return to this property. The only good thing about it was that it was centrally located.
