Great location with a beautiful porch overlooking the lake. A walkable neighborhood with friendly people. Lots of small shops and restaurants a stones throw away. So quiet and relaxing.

Everything was as described. It was the perfect escape by the lake to decompress and enjoy the surrounding area. Host was friendly and called before the arrival date. He went over a few things and answered questions. He left some fresh bread and baked goods to enjoy and everything I needed was available. The only issue I had was with the coffee maker which just needs some maintenance.
My dogs got to come and enjoy the lake and some great walks as well. Good fishing off of the semi-private beach, 4 bass averaging 2-3 lbs., that I could land. It was difficult because of the bank, bring a net and watch for wildlife if you want to fish!
The cottage and location was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you want to enjoy the lake and do some hiking.

This is a well-equipped cottage with a great porch for reading, visiting and enjoying the wonderful view of Lake Waramaug. The king bed was very comfortable and the owner was prompt in replying to messages and very easy and pleasant.

Our host welcomed us after a long journey from Wisconsin, with wonderful jam, and handmade baked goods to enjoy. After being away from CT. for 30 years, we totally enjoyed the cottage and its' great view. The records and turntable fit right in with our memory tour. Everything was perfect!

Great week on Lake Waramug!
We stayed at the cottage the last week of July 2020 and had a wonderful time. The house has everything you need including great views from the porch, lake access, floaties, corn hole and comfy beds. Tom was super helpful and always available if we had any questions.

Perfect getaway from NYC
The property is nicer in person than on the website. Tom left us an INCREDIBLE gift package of fresh bread and pastries upon our arrival. The lake is beautiful, and short walk/drive to the semi-private beach, and we used the floaties to hang out on the water with our puppies. Had a blast. Thanks, Tom!!

The cottage is a great getaway spot. We enjoyed the view of the lake from the front porch . The mattresses were very comfortable which is a plus! We will definitely return again to this cottage!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend at Bliss cottage. Everything we needed was provided and exactly as advertised.
Tom has a great place and we are happy he shared the cottage with us.

Parardise on the lake
If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The lake is beautiful and the property is perfect. Tom's hospitality started by having cookies and muffins waiting for us. Including a great jam to spread on them. And dog biscuits for our puppy. There are many places of interest for walking and hiking. There are several quaint Connecticut towns nearby with great restaurants and shops. And a great restaurant right next door to the cottage. Do yourself a favor and visit the falls at the Kent state park. Thanks Tome we will be back next year.

Perfect Getaway!
We stayed at Tom's cottage for the long holiday weekend and loved every minute of it. Tom is a wonderful host and you can see his years in the hospitality business in every aspect of trip - from providing helpful information on nearby activities and the surrounding area to graciously leaving us some baked goods (and a doggie treat for the dog!).
The location of the cottage is ideal. It is located right across the road from the lake which allowed for wonderful morning porch time looking out at the unencumbered views of the lake and surrounding greenery. The lake access is also a short walk down the road which is perfect for some lakeside reading, a quick dip in the beautiful water or watching the sunset. The cottage is also next door to an inn with delicious food and around the corner from a vineyard which had live music each night. It was great to be able to walk over and enjoy all the festivities without ever getting into the car and even with the events at these neighboring properties, the house itself was quiet and relaxing at all times of the day and night.
The cottage itself is also very well appointed with all of the amenities one could need, including ample cookware, towels, beach chairs and floats. The beds were super comfy and everything was immaculately clean and seamlessly ready for us at check in.
We couldn't recommend this house enough and cannot wait to return. Thanks Tom!!!

Perfect stay!!
I came up with me and my girlfriend and from the first phone call Tom was excellent from allowing us to check in a little early to letting us check out a few hours late, he was very responsive and accommodating. The house was blissful overlooking the lake and perfectly quaint. The Hopkins inn vineyard and the neighborhood was very warming and nice. We cannot wait to come back!!

Perfect cottage on the lake
We really enjoyed our 4-day stay despite rain and fog at the beginning. We lit the electric fireplace and went next door to the Hopkins Inn for lunch. When we finished the bottle of wine we brought, we went across the street to the Hopkins winery and bought two more. When the sun came out we went to the lake and hiked for 3 hrs in the Macricostas Preserve, climbing a hill to view Lake Waramaug from the back side. We did some sightseeing around the county including the covered bridge. This is a beautiful area and we will return! Cottage had everything we needed including comfortable beds and two kinds of coffee maker. The chairs on the front porch were wonderful, bring binoculars so you can see the kestrels and the houses across the lake.

Wonderful Getaway
My husband and I wanted a quick getaway where our dogs could swim. Tom’s Bliss Cottage is exactly that...blissful. It was comfortable and clean. The wonderful muffins that greeted us was a nice touch. Tom stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking, and we enjoyed chatting with him. We had my in-laws and a few friends up for a visit to sit on the porch and have some wine and cheese while taking in the view. Hopefully the diners at the Hopkins Inn didn’t mind some singing with their dinner. We would definitely recommend Tom’s cottage if you are looking for a peaceful retreat. The private beach on the lake is a short drive or walk from the cottage.

Wonderful cottage with great lake views
We loved our weekend at this clean and simple, but very comfortable, cottage with amazing lake views from almost every room. Amenities include a wonderful front porch with cushioned seating and rockers, well-equipped kitchen, and grill. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return!

The location, the home itself, the long list of amenities, the quiet and calming energy of the lake itself, the thoughtful and hands -on owner, the wide range of local restaurants and attractions, the stunning view from the front porch, quietude, even the short and peaceable ride from southern CT combine to make this place the ideal space for a mid week get away. My wife and I agree that 3 Bliss Rd and the owner and host, Tom, should be pictured in the dictionary next to the word "Hospitality."
He even has motion activated night lites throughout the house! Not a thing to gripe about.....a hundred to applaud and appreciate. Thanks Tom.
