Situated in Marla Bay, this lovely house for $504 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Permit # DSTR1138P Occupancy Rules: *Min age to rent any property is 25. *Per county rules: Weddings are NOT allowed of any kind or size, on the property or at the house. You will be shut down immediately and will lose the security deposit and will be subject to more fines. *You are only allowed 10 people at any time at the house. This includes any dinners or gatherings you may have. *Please help us to keep our home a vacation rental. NOISE ORDINANCE 9pm to 8am DAILY and is very strict in this neighborhood. * Fireworks, wood fire pits, and charcoal BBQ's are illegal in the Lake Tahoe Basin. **Parking: 5 cars allowed at house at any time. There is no street parking per county and fire safety rules. Pursuant to DCC 20.622.040 (D) (6) Failure to park in the designated parking spaces and/or display the parking permit may result in a citation and fine of $500 to the responsible party or person of the vehicle. You must display the parking pass in both vehicles during your stay. They are in the rental house. *Please be prepared for winter driving conditions as we are above 7k feet in elevation, and we do get snow. Enjoy your vacation with the best view of Lake Tahoe. This 4 bedroom 3 bathroom 3 story log cabin sits atop Zephyr Heights and has views of Heavenly Ski resort and panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Relax in the hot tub after a day at the beach or after a day of skiing. There is a BBQ on the deck along with patio furniture, the perfect place to BBQ with the family and watch the sunset over the lake. The two car garage is available for the renters. Two minutes from Zephyr Cove beach, four minutes to Heavenly Valley ski resort and four minutes to the casinos. On the level with the deck is the mail living area with kitchen, living room, dining area, a full shared bathroom, BR1 queen and BR2 is a small bedroom with a twin bed. Upstairs is the BR3 master bedroom with a king and a full bathroom, BR4 with a queen & a twin with a full bathroom. The laundry area is also on this level. Both of these bedrooms have a door out to a balcony overlooking the lake. This home does have a steep driveway, this comes along with having an amazing view atop the hill. Please be prepared in the winter months. There are stairs in the home, this is a 3 story home. ~In the winter we keep all of the deck furniture in the garage and it is not available for use. Because of winds and snow we must store the furniture.

The property was nice more suited for summer travel. A few upgrades are needed and the drive way was very difficult for parking but over all we had a pleasant stay.

Very nice cabin with stunning views, including views from the hot tub, the decks and balconies, and just about every room. The driveway is not for the faint-hearted but is not horrible once you get used to it.

Location was fabulous view as fabulous. The property was very nice. Only thing that would need fixing would be the wall at the end of the driveway to make it a little wider to get in.

My friends and i booked this place over Thanksgiving and absolutely loved the place! The views are spectacular and the place was very cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped with pans, dishes, cups etc. However, the listing says its for max 10 guests, but the living space and the bedrooms are not large enough or have enough beds to accommodate 10 guests. It can max accommodate 8 guests comfortably. The dining area only has 6 chairs.
There were slight issues that we faced:
- The parking ramp is very steep and we had to be really careful when backing up
- Some dishes were not very clean (noticed hair on plate)
- In one of the bathrooms upstairs, the commode wouldn't flush
- There was no heating vent in one of the small rooms with a twin bed.
- No recycling or compost bins provided
- In one of the rooms upstairs, there was a big bug on the pillow
- No cells/battery in the TV remote
Overall, we really enjoyed it and would come again!

I was skeptical about booking this place, since I read the reviews about it not being clean. Luckily, this rental was clean, organized, and well put together! The views…. The views!!! The views and the hot tub is what made this house worth every penny. Beautiful fireplaces in living room and in master bedroom. The only thing I’d make sure to be aware of, is that the washer is on the 3rd story, and the dryer is down stairs in the garage. And there was no laundry basket. So I had to carry wet clothes down 2 flights of stairs. But fortunately I didn’t have a long trip and only had to do one load. But just something to keep in mind for people who plan on staying for an extended period of time. Also, the drive way is VERY steep. Otherwise, this place was absolutely perfect. I will definitely be staying here again!

We never received the passcode and had to call VRBO direct to receive this information which delayed our check in process. The property manager should have been diligent about following up via text or email day before arrival and make sure that we we were ready and had everything we needed for our check in. Upon check in, we found that the property lacked cleanliness, it was clear that whomever they hire to do the cleaning does the bare minimum even though a cleaning fee is charged of renters. In addition, finding the wifi password was a mission itself in searching for that information as again no clear direction was provided. The location is great, no complaints except for the very narrow and steep driveway that I was terrified to park my Suburban on and had to get help from a walking friendly neighbor. I would say bring a small car if coming to stay here.

There was enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably and soak in the spa. The property management company was very accommodating to our group. I highly recommend this property!

The property wasn’t as nice as the pictures, more rustic and father from the lake as it showed online. Had dead rat in bathroom when we arrived, just about everyone tripped and some fell on the floor height changes. One bedroom door stuck closed until help was given from others side. The BBQ, which we use all the time while on vacation, not only wasn’t working, but was utterly disgusting on the grills and inside. The driveway was CRAZY to drive up and down on. It doesn’t sleep what’s advertised unless you have 2 people sleep on the furniture. It sleeps 4 adults and 4 children, nothing more. Wet nice views of the lake and SPA was nice to have ready and warm.

The place is not clean, there is some dust in most of the house. the bedding is tidy but not clean. some of the rooms do not have the door (2nd floor), the closet on the third floor was ruined before we entered. the back of the house was completely dirty, there are some lights that don't work. The place is very beautiful and if everything is fine it will be completely pleasant.

The views were beautiful from the outside patio. However how the pictures are taken and shown online it looked like it was an open floor plan, but when we got there it was separate rooms. Kitchen was closed off area from living and dinning rooms. The door knobs didn’t work to some rooms. My Mother in Law was locked in her room and couldn’t open the door from the inside, had to call us to get out. We paid a cleaning fee but when we got there it looked like they did a quick cleaning. The floors had debris. The outside patio tables were dirty and umbrella was broken. There was food crumbs in the silverware drawer. Also there is mouse running around , we had a loaf of bread sealed and it bit through it and ate some of the bread.Other than that house was nice and outside views were gorgeous. Close to beaches.

It was good. However, the house lacked some everyday items.There is a lot of maintenance that could have been been dealt with.THE OVEN DID NOT WORK.House supplies... ie dish towels.It was obvious the homeowner really did the minimum for the maintenance of the house.

The view was absolutely breathtaking! From the sunrise to the sunset sitting on the balcony just taking it in was the best part of this trip! This property was great for our family, we have 3 adult children and it was so nice for everyone to have their own room. It was usually hot temps in Tahoe and the cabin has no AC so we spent a lot of time on the deck in the evening and mornings. Cooking/Grilling was great we had plenty of accommodations and the kitchen was spacious. The PM company was very friendly and attentive to any questions I had, even offered to drop off a screwdriver when I needed one! This was my first summer in Tahoe - we rented a boat and had a fun lake day while other family camped in the RV Park at the bottom of the hill just a 5 min drive away. It was nice to get together with my siblings and cousins and have everyone close by. If I came back it would definitely be in the fall or off season due to how busy the lake was. I love Tahoe and will cherish getting to enjoy this view with my kids!

We felt this cabin was truly special, from the views to the layout. The steep driveway and all the stairs weren't our favorite, but the view you get makes up for it, but it's definitely not for everyone. We had a couple of problems with the property: 1. Its cleanliness- or the lack of, and 2. Its upkeep.
First thing we noticed is that the house is very dark, which could be easily solved with good lighting fixtures, which it lacked. The ceiling lights in the dinning room are flickering and hurt the eyes, so we couldn'thave them on. Other lamps, scattered around, some don't work, some are missing a bulb... again, easily solvable if wanted to. There were others items that may be more difficult to solve, but still need to be addressed, like window insulation. We had snow buildup on the inside of the windows in one of the bedrooms. Which brings me to the thermostat situation. It would've been very helpful knowing how to control the temperature in the house. There was no information available about that, not in the house, and not when we called to ask about it. It was impossible to get the home to feel comfortable upstairs and downstairs. The people in the downstairs bedrooms were miserable all night, while it was pretty chilly upstairs. But the biggest problem for us was the cleanliness of the property. I don't think that the cleaning team washed and changed the bedding after the previous guests. We found someone's socks in one bed, hair in another, the third bed was missing a sheet, and there were disgusting brown stains on our blanket. It was too late in the night to call management when we undid our beds and discovered all that, so we just dealt with it - replaced with anything clean we could find in the closets, used stuff that we brought we us... but that was a great shock, disappointment, and inconvenience, especially since the property is not cheap. I feel like even motel 6 beds are cleaner than that.
To conclude, I would say that I really hope that the owner/management take this to heart and put more effort into upkeeping the property and making sure that their teams are doing a much better job, because I would love to stay there again. Like I said, the house is special, and all the problems are easily solvable.

This place was so beautiful! The furnishings are sparse but they are exactly what you need and nothing more. The property was clean overall -- whatever issues were present in the previous reviews were resolved. There was an incident with some seeds that were found in the king-sized bed, but after talking with Mgt (Ray was super nice!) and the cleaning crew we learned that the previous occupants had left a ton of pine-nut seeds in the bed and the cleaning crew thought they had cleaned them all. It happens...Otherwise it was a perfect place to stay. Lots of room, enough bathrooms, large kitchen, AWESOME hot tub!, and a spectacular view! I cannot say enough about the spectacular view. I feel lucky that we got to stay here!!!! A couple of notes: I had wanted to bring my dog and the owner refused. Once I got there I realized why, The second set of stairs is an uneven set of log stairs. My dog would never have been able to navigate that safely. AND If you are elderly or have knee or hip issues, it is probably best that you stay in one of the bedrooms downstairs. It's A LOT of stairs: 2 flights to come into the house, a stair to the dining room, 2 stairs to the kitchen, and 2 longer flights up to the second floor bedrooms. Also, that driveway is NO JOKE! 2 cars at the max can get in and out of there. I rented a Buick Enclave and my friends rented a Chevy Impala. They came up the driveway and turned around using the empty garage to park the car at the very end of the driveway. Then I parked the Buick at an angle into the garage. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY these two cars would fit- nothing bigger would have fit. You need to realize that this driveway is not for the faint of heart. It is pretty much a 45 degree angle so when you are going up and down the front of the car WILL SCRAPE, and then you will have to GUN-IT up the angle. We were aware of this beforehand because we read the reviews carefully. I wouldn't have done it in MY OWN car- Rental is OK :D. IT WAS STILL TOTALLY WORTH IT!

The building itself had multiple safety issues including an unsecured staircase rail about to fall. The outdoor table shade umbrella was broken and half-ass fixed with rope (did not work). Overall, you can tell the company doesn't care about you or the details. Just be sure to hammer them when they make a mistake...they will.

This is and older cabin with a spectacular view.
Pros- Unbelievably good view- probably the best on the lake. Also, the interior architecture is charming-pine poles and all wood interior. The hot tub was excellent and easy to use.
Cons- The driveway is steep and daunting- we had to get someone outside the car to help us back down. Also, housekeeping was not good- the sheets had not been changed from the prior guests (we could smell perfume on the sheets and pillows)- we had to wash them before use.
Finally, the cabin is on three floors with steep stairs- NOT for the disabled.
Overall- an interesting stay with a few hiccups...

Dealt with smoke from cali fires first few days. Made sleeping with windows open a bit uncomfortable but it was too warm to close windows… the views were amazing. We were able to get up and down driveway with full size expedition (used the garage to turn around so we could go down without having to back down) . The cabin is a tradition cabin feel which we like and enjoy the cozy feel. If you are wanting new, modern, up to date- look elsewhere. If you want the mountain, rustic, cabin- this place is for you! We loved the hot tub and the balcony. Can’t beat the views!

We loved the cabin, especially its spectacular lake views at sunset and sunrise! Very conveniently located near Zephyr Cove beach access.
The cabin itself has a rustic, log cabin feel which felt very fitting in Tahoe. It was very spacious for 8 people. The kitchen was conveniently stocked with plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils.
We didn’t have any issues at all but feel it is worth mentioning the driveway is very steep and narrow. We had multiple cars and it was only wide enough to park single file.
Overall, would recommend and stay again! Can’t beat the balcony view of the lake while lounging in a hot tub!

The view was truly spectacular. The house was a beautiful house and it was clean. There were a few problems. There weren't enough simple amenities. Thee was no plug in the sink so we couldn't really wash dishes. The only thing really provided was toilet paper and paper towels. The deck had just a few cushions for the chairs and the railing was burnt from a fire and a little wobbly. Renters definitely need to be notified about the driveway which is extraordinarily steep. The house just seemed neglected. I would recommend this property but with reservations.

This was my first time renting at lake Tahoe. My preference I think the cabin was too dark inside. There's no celing lights except in the bathroom and kitchen. But it was still too dim. Also, didn't like the woody smell of the cabin.Overall, the view was beautiful.
