About this cottage rental
Nestled in Sanford, this charming cottage for $261 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. -2 Bedroom Lakeside cottage. 3/4 bath. -4 Season Lakefront home -Year round home on Bauneg Beg Lake with beautiful sunsets. (Old dock pictures are only to show the sunsets!) -Pet Friendly -No smoking. -Two Bedrooms with Queen Size beds, and a Queen Trundle bed on the porch. (Great place to sleep!) -Equipped with full size stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, Kuerig machine, Wi-Fi, SmartTV (No cable, but you can watch hundreds of TV shows and movies free through Crackle and free apps over WiFi). Access to Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video. -Place is super clean with hardwood floors. -Totally enclosed fenced in property on 3/4 acre. -Sunsets on the Patio with outdoor fireplace/chimnea. Listen to the crickets and the loons. -Also 6 ft fire-pit in the back. -Gas grill. -Dock for your boat. Easy access. Sit on the dock and watch the sunsets, take a swim, or cast a line. (Dock is seasonal - mid May through mid October). Old dock pictures are only to show the sunsets! -Water is 30 ft away. Small sandy beach. Life jackets, floats, and 2 person Kayak on site, paddleboat, canoe. -Quiet location off dirt road. -ATV trails nearby, Hiking trails nearby. -Super Walmart, Shaws, Laundry mat, Cinema, Restaurants, bowling, mini-golf and Golf Course all within 5 minutes away. -20 minutes from Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk. Beaches, Antiques and art stores, Outlets. -40 minutes to Portland, Portsmouth. -Check out time 11am, Check in time is 3:30pm.

Lovely spot. Even though the neighbors are close it’s barely noticeable. The cottage is sited perfectly and has a secluded feeling looking out to the lake. We stayed late in the season but were snuggly warm. The heater worked well. Very well appointed kitchen. Our dog had a blast and was exhausted at the end of each day. I was ably to easily attain 12,000+ steps each day walking along the quiet streets by the lake, enjoying the views and checking out all the lakefront homes. We hope to come again.

Everything was as promised. The lakeside, the cabin and all the amenities. The extra instructions before check-in were crucial to wrapping up our long drive. Especially the "Google Maps error". We got to visit with dear friends in perfect surroundings. Even Clyde the dog felt "at home".

This property is in a small cove on Beuneg Beg Lake. It was so quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed taking a chair, though there is a bench, out on the dock and just sitting there. The camp was immaculate. The furniture was so comfortable. We had everything we needed right there. We didn't have to buy anything but food. Waking up every morning to the lake was such a treat. We were close to all the places we usually go to in Wells and Ogunquit. Traveled up to Freeport and and Kennebunk. Our dogs loved it. I had fun collecting acorns and pinecones that had dropped from the trees. This property was exactly as pictured and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would not hesitate to stay there again. It was away from the traffic and noise on Route 1. One word would describe this property. Idyllic. Thank you Marcel and John for sharing your getaway with us.

Definitely clean and comfortable.
No cable TV and that worked out fine - maybe not for a longer stay. We were very happy with this adorable lake house with a nice dock.

We had the best of both worlds- the ocean for my 11 year old and the lake for my husband! Cabin is a little on the small side but worked perfectly well for our family of four as we loved spending time on the patio looking out at the Lake. On rainy days, the front porch area became our game and puzzle room from those stocked in the cabin.
The cabin was well stocked with anything that we might need and the beds were super duper comfy!! The daybed on the porch lulled you into a nap, even if you didn't think you wanted one! ;)
The sandy beach out front was a great area of the kids to play in and the dock was deep enough that they could jump and canonball directly into the lake. At nightime there were plenty of ambient lights to light the way, but still star gaze!
It really was the perfect getaway!

We had a nice stay at this camp. Accommodations were fine and this rental was a good value. We’ll stocked kitchen and BBQ; plenty of water toys; comfortable LR and bedrooms; air conditioning.
We had our grandchildren for a few days and they caught lots of fish off the dock. They also spent countless hours swimming.
Our only complaint, outside of the control of the owners, is that the water quality is far from clear (perhaps rich in iron?) making it quite brown.

This property was everything we expected, wanted and more. Beautiful view, cozy house, easy drive to local beaches and restaurants, quiet and peaceful retreat.
Despite the rain we had from the remnants of Hurricane Fiona we so enjoyed ourselves as did our puppy who got to meet the local chipmonks! She was safe within the fenced property and loved the lake to take a swim. If weather was better we would of used the kayaks and paddleboat provided.
Kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy meals. House well appointed with furniture and the front porch provided a lovely view of the lake and sunsets.
We would love to return to enjoy the lake more next time.
Property owners were very prompt with communications and made the process easy. All instructions and directions were clear and helpful

The first night we were exhausted from long ride packing and unpacking. I was putting things away suddenly I heard the long mournful call of the Loon. I ran outside and just sat and listened to the Loons calling back and forth. I was so moved by this. Lo and behold I heard an engine approaching and was shocked to see a sea plane landing on the lake. What a welcome! We daytripped six days. Amazing sights. One town more scenic than the last. We enjoyed the beaches and of course the lobster. I can’t say enough abt it.

Tranquil People and Puppy Haven awaits
Well I brought my puppy up and was promised he would have room to run and boy did he! Close the gate and it is a really great sized playpen for your furry pal. House is - literally - on top of the pond/lake... 5 minutes to shopping and groceries and Shain's home made ice cream!!
John and Marcel were great to deal with and high level of communication and were gracious enough to let me come after my planned stay due to COVID - could not have asked for more.

Perfect!
We had the perfect little mid-winter reset. So peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is absolutely dreamy and getting to bring our dog made it ideal for us. I think he liked it better than being home.
We are already scheming about when we can come back.

Perfect Getaway
My family and I stayed in this amazing cabin over a long snowy weekend with our daughter and 2 dogs. We had decided this would be a nice place for us based on the pictures and the fact that it was pet friendly with a fenced in property. It is important to say the pictures of this property absolutely do not do it justice to how perfect it is for a family get away. The two bedrooms were each spacious enough, and the bed in the front room was an amazing spot to lay and take a nap or read while getting to overlook the frozen lake. The kitchen was perfect to accommodate anything we wanted to cook, and we made good use of the kuerig. The living room space was perfect for the three of us and the two dogs to hang out in after spending time playing outside in the snow. We are big fans of finding vacation spots where we have our own space to make family memories and this was absolutely that, while also being conveniently close to any shopping needs you have. We were excited and happy being pet friendly and right on the lake alone, but this place more than exceeded our expectations. As I write this we have already made our second reservation to stay here.

Charming cabin by a beautiful lake!
All the water toys you could wish for in warmer weather. In November, we enjoyed the pristine view and having our dogs roam free in the fenced yard. Oh, and excursions for shopping in Freeport and Kittery!

Awesome place to get away
Read all the previous reviews before deciding on staying here and... it turns out everyone was right. Loved it here. Quiet, restful, peaceful, clean, well stocked and wonderful views... the property had everything you could need. The dogs even had a great time exploring the large property. Wonderful place to stay to feel like youre away from everything yet close enough to make day trips and see some sights if you choose. Will definitely be back!
