Situated in Princeville, this lovely house for $785 per night is a great option for your next break. A rare combination of amenities exists at Lei Aloha, a hidden retreat. Gates lead into a private courtyard, completely enclosed by a stucco wall and tropical plants, including plumeria, heliconia, gardenia, and torch ginger. In the center of the courtyard is a 16' x 40' swimming pool, patio space, and a lawn. Lei Aloha is oriented to take advantage of refreshing trade winds that keep it a comfortable temperature. Upon entering this custom-built home, you are greeted by a magnificent view of towering Norfolk Island Pines that sway in the breeze. These graceful giants, framed by the soaring windows of the great room, flank the fairway of a frisbee golf course – fun for the whole family! Lei Aloha is comfortable and tastefully appointed. This breezy, Hawaiian home of over 3200 sq. ft. offers a primary suite and two guest bedrooms on the first level, all opening onto the courtyard and the pool through French doors. An additional primary suite is located on the second level and features a deck that overlooks the pool. Enjoy your morning coffee on the lanai, or on the lawn under a palm tree next to the pool. Fire up the gas barbecue on the patio for that fresh mahi-mahi from the local fish market and serve it on an outdoor dining table gracing the patio. Professional landscape artists care for the tropical fruit and foliage that will delight your senses. There is almost always a ripe papaya on one of the papaya trees, and fresh citrus available for cooking or cocktails! Fragrances of mock orange, pua kenikeni, jasmine and pikake at various times of the year will confirm that you are in paradise! Princeville is the gateway to an amazing range of activities available on the scenic North Shore. Just a few minutes' drive will have you kayaking emerald rivers, touring the canyons and valleys by helicopter, hiking along the Na Pali Coast, horseback riding to waterfalls, deep-sea fishing and whale-watching. The shops and restaurants of Princeville Center are just a short walk from the house. Or for a truly local shopping and dining experience, nearby Hanalei offers varied cuisine and bohemian boutiques, as well as a long, crescent-shaped beach, great for a moonlit stroll. Princeville's weather often includes brilliant, tropical sunshine and occasional, scattered rain showers throughout the day. A benefit of these brief showers is that our vegetation on the north side of Kauai is much more green and lush than the more arid and desert-like South Shore. Although there can be more rainfall in the winter season in Princeville, it is rare to experience prolonged periods of precipitation. Princeville's temperature is mild and pleasant throughout the year, with only a small temperature difference between night and day. Water temperatures tend to average around 80 degrees in the summer and 73 degrees in the winter. The pool at Lei Aloha, like most pools in Hawaii, is heated by the warm, tropical sun. The water temperature will vary with the weather conditions. In the winter, the water will usually be in the mid-70s, and in the summer, the low to mid-80s. We find that guests coming from very cold climates find the pool enjoyable, even in the winter months. Those who have enjoyed this property generally agree that on a warm day, the pool feels refreshing, whatever the temperature! We greatly enjoyed our stay. Highlights included the beautiful great room (it rained a fair bit, so we spent time inside), the accessible location, the large pool and peaceful surroundings and the nicely decorated bedrooms. Kitchen was also nicely appointed.

Lovely house with amazing pool. Excellent location, beatiful clean big house. It has everything you need for comfort. Home does get hot, esp on sunny days with little breeze. Love Princeville so was extremely happy we found this home to rent, will def rent again.

We loved this home! In a quiet neighborhood on a corner lot with beautiful vegetation surrounding the pool and providing privacy. The pool is the BEST feature. We couldn't get the kids out. House has everything. Wish it had A/C in the other rooms though especially the upstairs one. But otherwise extraordinary. Short walk to park, stores, shopping, restaurants and amazing beaches nearby. Garage has six beach chairs, sand toys, a few life jackets and three boogie boards. We used all of it every day.

Great house in a quiet neighborhood. Easy to get around, Hanalei was our favourite beach. Really easy to rent a car and drive around Kauai to get to the other communities. If you just want to stay at one place, you had all the conveniences close by.

Spacious and comfortable house. Pictures/description very accurate. Property management was attentive and easy to work with. Kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to cook meals at home. Beach chairs, towels, coolers, some swim gear were all available for our use so we didn’t have to purchase or travel with extra stuff. Each room has own bath, bedrooms all had ceiling fan and stand fans. Beautiful property in quiet neighborhood close to many amenities and activities. great place for group of friends or family. Only comment is the first day we arrived the master room had a musty odor but cleared out with open windows and some air freshener. Secret beach was worth the short hike, Fire show was educational and entertaining. Anini beach was perfect for kids to try out the snorkel masks. Overall, a great place to stay!

We Loved this house. Plenty of our room for our family. We took turns cooking breakfasts and dinners. Great location. We rented E-bikes to get around. Princeville. And that pool is amazing.!! We didn’t want to leave. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!!

Everything was fantastic. If we had any complaints, it would only be the toilet paper! Also the only air-conditioning is in the master suite. Otherwise,the kitchen has most gadgets you would need, even a extra refrigerator in garage and coolers in garage for beach outings. We loved the pool and being able to take a break and just hang out at the house, but still have something fun to do for the kids. We will absolutely be staying here again.

Large enough for eight adults, and home has been updated with the upstairs bedroom remodeled and full bath put in so each bedroom has basically an on-suite bathroom. Lots of areas to hangout with the pool and then the golf course side along with the great room. Nice to have a bathroom out by the pool too to change or just go potty in a wet swimsuit. Grounds well cared for and would rent again. One thing we did enjoy with the advice of my oldest child was we hired a private chef to cook for us a couple of nights and was great, relaxing, played games with the family while the appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts being prepared and the chef cleaned up after the meal, so able to enjoy each others company in the evening with some drinks. We had talked about going out a few times during the week, but getting reservations for 8 and wanting great meals meant $$$, and my son felt since already planning to do that, could use that money for a chef to come in and cook. So really was very comparable to going out to eat and not coordinate a reservation and presented a longer time in evening to enjoy meal as it was prepared. The kitchen in the home was able to support the chef except for all the serving plates needed for each course, so a little cleaning of plates occurred once per meal. Some something to potentially add to your visit. If you just like burgers and simple meals and cook for yourself, then not the thing for you. Just need to plan in advance for this option and contact a chef before going to the island to see if available.
So a great time had by all and great location to get groceries and see the north end of Kauai.

We are a family of six (2 adults and 4 kids all under 12 years old). We travel a lot and many times in Hawaii and Kauai.
The home is large and sprawling, which would work well for groups of people staying together. The house layout is in the formation of the number 7, with the master taking up one section. If you have small children, you will be far from your kids. Each room has its own bathroom. The deck on the lanai is beautiful and seems to be new.
We were already on the island and had to check out at 10am and wait until 5pm to check in. We packed up the kids and all of our belongings and drove around Kauai until 4pm where we picked up the key from the office. We were greeted with a note saying we had early check-in, really? Why did no one call or text us or send us a message via the app they ask you to download?
Upon entering the house, we were greeted with a musty smell, which is not uncommon for houses on the North Shore, but was disappointing as it lingered the entire stay even with all of the windows open. Lesson learned, ask before you book if there is that smell.
Upstairs bedroom: there is one wardrobe for clothes, but no drawers. So we ended up with clothes stacked all over the room. Not ideal. The mattress is uncomfortable, it even has an egg crate foam mattress, which didn’t help at all.
Kitchen: all plates and mugs are ceramic, which are not practical if you want to use them in them microwave, you will get burned unless you use hot pads, which for warming up a cup of hot water for tea, is not practical. You have to warm up in one cup, get a hot pad to pour into another cup.
Outdoors: the garden needs attention. When we arrived surprised to see the grass long and unkept, which is so unusual for Hawaii. We let the property manager know and they sent someone to mow. That being said, there are lush plants all over the place, which is great, but they need to be trimmed back. You can’t walk to the pool without bobbing and weaving around the plants or else you will get wacked in the face. There is a trellis falling over a wall. All easy fixes.
Simple fixes to make the house better:
The family room could use even a basic Bluetooth player to play music
Towels are thin and sparse. I would recommend upgrading the towels and providing more.
Bedding needs a refresh
2 ply toilet paper not 1 ply
No paper towels or Kleenex waiting in the house. Would be nice to have even a few to start the stay.

This property was perfect for our family of 8. Just beautiful. The outdoors is as stunning as the house. Total privacy! If we weren't at the beaches we were outside at the pool.
The views from the pool area are incredible.
The house was well stocked. The kitchen, cookware, linens, beach towels...plenty of all we needed. The second refrigerator in garage was great. The beach chairs and cooler were used on each outing. The neighborhood is pretty and neighbors are friendly. Kauai Vacation rentals made the rental process effortless and they were so friendly. Thanks everyone!
