About this house rental
Rata Street is a well appointed two bedroom property at Otaki Beach, on a high elevated section with big views from a deck that wraps around the property. At the front are awesome sea views and at the rear are great views towards the Tararua ranges and Otaki Forks. This property will suit a couple, or two couples, who want a relaxing beach holiday.
The property has been recently renovated and is well appointed with a new kitchen. There is a big TV with fast fibre internet for Netflix etc. The house is warm in winter with a firebox in the living room and lots of dry wood.
Please note that to keep costs down for our guests, linen is not included. We also have no cleaning fee. The arrangement is simply to "leave it tidy, like you found it".
With the awesome views comes a steep driveway! It's not suitable for caravans, trailers, motor homes etc. They can be parked on the street.
There's lots to do around Otaki and we have a guide book with tons of ideas. Examples include beach walks, surfing, Hori Gallery, the local museum, the Maoriland Hub, the historic Rangiatea Church, cafes, Otaki River Trail, biking, Otaki Forks, Nga Manu nature reserve, Otaki Sunday Market, Check out Tripadvisor or NewZealand.com
For International Guests:
* If you are an international traveller without linen, please ask and we can normally make arrangements for you.
* Otaki is located an hour north of Wellington International Airport on the Kapiti Coast. The drive is on a modern motorway. Car rentals are available at the airport. There is also a scenic coastal road which is awesome on a sunny day.

We loved it.In town for a wedding so I booked the house sight unseen from Nelson. It did not disappoint.Service - on the last morning we were all exhausted from the wedding. I texted Mark and asked how strict the 10am check out was and could we stay a bit later and not rush. Five mintues later I got "No worries".Amenities - We needed an iron and an ironing board. Oh, there they are. Very well appointed. Oh look, soft fluffy robes. Great.The decks - The best part of the place was the decks. One of them is around front and you have a lovely view of the sea (there was kite festival on and that added some atmosphere). The other deck is around the side and surprisingly private. Spent a lot of time outside chilling.Would recommend to anyone.

Great house with beautiful views. Very clean with comfortable beds. Thank you for having us. We will stay here again next time we’re in town.

We did enjoy our stay and the location. The weather was not the best but I can imagine it would be a wonderful place to be on a good day. The only other negative besides the weather was the cleanliness of the property and having to clean the kitchen and bathroom prior to use and wash the duvet cover.
