The Dala House is newly renovated, beautifully decorated, and generously stocked with top-of-the-line amenities to ensure your comfort and convenience. We welcome you to our family’s “peaceful place,” with the goal that you leave the Great Smoky Mountains smiling and fulfilled. AMENITIES: • Sleeping space for 7 guests • Master Suite: Spacious downstairs suite features a King mattress by Thread & Needle, organic sheets, sitting area and TV. Adjoining bath invites relaxation with soaking tub, shower for two, hairdryer, herbal hair products and handmade soaps. • Two upstairs bedrooms, one with a Queen mattress and one with a Twin-over-Full bunk bed. Both rooms feature top quality mattresses and organic sheets. • Upstairs couch converts to a comfortable Full Bed with organic sheets. • Upstairs guests share a well-appointed full bath with tub/shower, hairdryer, herbal hair products and handmade soaps. • Spacious living room with vaulted exposed beams, stone fireplace, woven rugs and refined rustic décor blended with modern comfort and convenience. • Entertainment room features cozy sectional sofa, 52-inch TV, DVD player, huge DVD collection and plenty of games. Cable and Wi-Fi included. • Chef’s kitchen provides all you need to create a delicious meal, with top-of-the-line goods as well as staples including olive oil, spices and baking essentials. Gather around the reclaimed heart of pine dining table or dine outdoors on the spacious deck. • Kid-friendly: We have small children and recognize the challenges of traveling with little ones. To make your trip as stress-free as possible, The Dala House supplies a Pack n’ Play, high chair, bed rail, stair safety gate, bath ring seat, hiking backpack, children’s dishes, lots of toys, and kids’ DVDs. • Privacy and Proximity: Surrounded by almost an acre of wooded land on beautiful Misty Mountain, The Dala House is directly off Highway 221, just one mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The layout and amenities were perfect for traveling with a one year old! Hang out spaces upstairs and down, mini crib and other baby items available, clear communication from owners. We had a great long weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Dala House near Blowing Rock. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well stocked. We loved the location near Blowing Rock, with easy access to Boone, the trails around Moses Cone, and many other hiking trails in the area.

Perfect Mountain Get Away
We had the good fortune to spend several days at the Dala House. It was the perfect place for our multigenerational group! The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. In addition, the layout of the house provided the perfect blend of togetherness and privacy. Stephanie has missed her calling if she's not an interior decorator :)
In addition to being beautiful the house was very functional. We found everything we needed to cook at home and for our grand children to stay safely and comfortably. The hosts provided so many thoughtful extras, especially for a family traveling with young children.
If you stay, be sure to star view from the deck. Magical.
We hope to return to this very special place.

Blowing Rock 2021
Such a beautiful property, and a wonderful time! We went tubing at Hawksnest. Skiing at App, and rode the Alpine coaster prior to leaving for home! Perfect space for our family! Beautiful, clean and spacious! Will definitely return!

Beautiful Stay!
We so enjoyed the stay at this home! I loved the decor! Much different than any other country cabin I've ever stayed in. Little touched everywhere that let you know the owners wanted you to feel at home. Location was great. Good restaurants right at the bottom of the mountain in Blowing Rock! We'd definitely stay here again.

Fall Escape
We have visited this area many times in our 43 years of marriage, and my husband said this accommodation was his favorite. It is exactly as pictured in the listing. Very clean and attractive. I had all the cookware we needed and food delivery services from grocery store and restaurants were excellent. Stephanie was great in her communication before the trip. This home is very convenient to Blowing Rock and the Parkway which will take you to several beautiful hiking and picnic areas. The views are spectacular at the top of the neighborhood so walk up there while you’re here. We had the good fortune of being here the week before peak color, so we enjoyed watching the changing colors not only on hikes but, also, from the back windows of the home. We sat on the deck several afternoons just enjoying the weather and fresh air. We were looking for a safe getaway where we could relax and be safe during the pandemic. This was perfect. We would definitely return.

Adorable Cottage that Felt Like Home
My family and I had such a great stay! My two children loved the bunk beds. I loved the design elements that the whole home had and the fact that it was extremely clean. The beds were amazingly comfortable. My kids discovered a set of dominos and played for hours in the play room on a rainy afternoon. Everything was perfect.

Master bath very large and very nicely done. This property is about 12 minute drive from Main Street. No close neighbors. Surrounded by trees so no “view”.

Wonderful
We stayed at this amazing cottage for a long weekend (two parents, children ages 4 and 6). The location is great; very close to town, but tucked away in a private area. The property has been immaculately remodeled, and it was well appointed with everything we needed. Also, the owner, Stephanie, was super helpful and friendly, and she gave us some tips about the area when we texted her. We hope to come back!

Extremely comfortable cabin with everything we needed plus!
Misty mountain is absolutely beautiful. We walked the "neighborhood" several times and the views were stunning. We definitely understand where Misty mountain got her name.

Great Blowing Rock Cabin
Our family of 5, including 3 teenage daughters had a great visit at this cabin. The property is very nice and just as described. It is also very conveniently located to Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would definitely stay here again. And Stephanie we very communicative and helpful.

Beautiful house!
Everything was beautiful! It was a very relaxing stay, and the house is in a perfect location. The amenities were spot on. We had 4 adults and 2 kids stay and it was lovely. My only suggestion would be to watch the last step going down towards the Master bedroom. My father ended up miscalculating it due to shadows and fell.
The Dala House is definitely somewhere I would recommend to go to in order to "get away" and take a break!!!!

Simply Joy
From beginning to end, renting the Dala House was perfect! Great location...7-8 minute drive to Blowing Rock, WARMTH in every way...cleanliness, attention to detail, amazing well equipped kitchen, comfy furniture, wonderful mattresses, great deck surrounded by trees for family time, morning coffee or just peace.....these are only some of the things that brought our family simply joy these past 2 weeks! The owners were so helpful and communicative during the entire process. They shared many tips for living in the mountains, touring and eating...we loved cooking in the kitchen and dining at Blowing Rock’s excellent restaurants...Bass Lake was a 5 minute drive and we exercised there every day! This was a five star experience...thank you Stephanie and Ed for creating this “peace” away from our home.

Wonderful home for both adults and children!
The Dala House was perfect. Such a nice property that was so comfortable for our family! Everything was thoughtfully provided, including emergency kit and kitchen staples- even some ziplock bags for picnics! We needed nothing.
The safety gate for stairs helped us stay relaxed with our littles (ages 5, 3, and 16 months). We loved the toddler backpack for short hikes. The high chair, pack n play, video monitor, blow dryer, and kids dishes allowed us to pack lightly for our trip. We enjoyed the variety of dvds and puzzles. All appliances were in perfect working condition, and the home was so clean. We especially enjoyed the porch, where we are most meals and played games.
We were such a convenient distance to several destinations including Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather mountain, Linville falls, Julian Price park, mast general store at Valley Crucis, downtown Blowing Rock, and Grandfather Vinyard and Winery.
Thank you for such a fun, comfortable, and somehow even relaxing vacation for our young family! If we come back to the area, I’d want to stay at the Dala House!

Perfect Retreat
As you can see by the pictures this is a lovely cabin. The kitchen is very well stocked with many spices and seasonings, and utensils. Board games and family movies are also available. This home is very well located with easy drives to streams, hiking trails and downtown Blowing Rock. Stephanie, is extremely generous in sharing her knowledge and love of this area. She couldn't have been more accomodating. We began each morning on the deck, taking in the cool mountain air, the beauty of the landscape the sounds of the birds. We will return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Blowing Rock this weekend! The cabin was perfect for our family and we had everything we needed! It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable for the adults and kids! We’re already planning to return!

Lovely Scandinavian Mountain home!
5 Stars! This home is beautiful, recently completely remodeled but maintains the charm of a mountain cottage. Stephanie was very quick to respond to questions and give information about the area when I asked. The kitchen is very well equipped. Towels and bedding are very nice (higher quality than you often get in a vacation rental home). The Master bedroom and bathroom are luxurious and it was really nice to have an additional living room downstairs by the Master. The deck furniture is comfortable and we enjoyed wine and conversation in the lovely setting. Every day we walked the neighborhood and the view at the top will take your breath away. If you are fortunate enough to rent this house, you will be blessed.

Heaven in the Mountains
We enjoyed a perfect mother/ daughters getaway at the Dala House. The kitchen is well equipped for a chef and Trader Joe's bath products (yay!!). We found happy hours on the deck to be heavenly - sound of birds, a neighbor woodpecker and our own laughter - ideal getaway spot. All beds were super comfy, and with upstairs/downstairs TVs - both the Today Show and GMA fans were happy. Owner was quick with responses and has done a tremendous job in setting up this home to welcome guests. Highly reccomend!
