Luí na Gréine (Sunset) is a beautiful tradition style, three bedroom cottage attached to another smaller rental property, Eirí na Gréine (Sunrise). These two properties share the same building but are very private from one another, each having a separate parking area, entry and patio with outdoor furniture. Luí na Gréine (Sunset) is a traditional style cottage tastefully decorated. Two king bedrooms, one ensuite, one triple (double & single) bedroom, main bathroom with wet-room shower as well as a separate toilet with handbasin off the utility room. Beautifully finished hand painted kitchen – dining area with hand crafted furniture. Spiral staircase leading to spacious upstairs balcony with ocean views. Separate lounge with TV and gas coal - affect fire. Ideal base for touring the Burren region which is a haven for botanists, archaeologists, rock climbers and cavers. Beautiful scenic walks in the surrounding area, which is adjacent to the ‘Burren Way’ walking trail. Convenient to Lahinch with its blue flag beach, championship golf course and indoor leisure pool and aquarium. Our stay in this holiday home was simply fantastic. The idyllic location in the middle of nature and the lovely furnishings immediately enchanted us. The equipment left nothing to be desired, we felt at home. We particularly enjoyed the quiet surroundings. The hosts were very friendly and helpful which made our stay even more enjoyable. Adrienne’s place was great. It’s super clean and conveniently located a 10 min drive to Doolin. She’s a responsive communicator and pleasant to interact with. Would stay here again without hesitation.

We booked 4 nights stay the first day went smoothly but after that there were no water , the house located at the small town and we were forced to buy all bottle waters however we were told the water would be back within 12 hours, it didn’t happen, we couldn’t take shower couldn’t use toilets, so had to leave after the third day. I understand it’s not the hosts fault but it sucked when other hours had water in the street,ran into the problems like that, it’s nightmare. Otherwise the house is nice and clean.

My husband and I traveled to Ireland for the first time and we couldn't have asked for a more charming Cottage and wonderful hosts.
The cottage was very welcoming, comfortable, clean, quite/peaceful and had beautiful views of the ocean in the distance and .
Our hosts Adrienne and John were very nice and accommodating to any questions we had pertaining to the island or cottage.
We recommend this place 100% and wish we could stay longer, but will definitely be back again!
Come visit here as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed.

We had an unforgettable week in this beautifully refurbished cottage near the Clare coast, with magnificent views (in good weather!) of the Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands. John and Adrienne McMahon are friendly and helpful hosts, not in the least intrusive, and made us feel most welcome in their lovely vacation home, which is cozy in the evenings and also spacious enough for adults to spread out. We hope to come back, sooner rather than later. Come here if you get the chance!

We were with friends from California and Monasterevin County Kildare. We had a wonderful time in your comfortable house and it is a great area with access to the Aran Islands, the music in Doolin, the friendly people in Listoonvarna shops, the sunset over the sea, and all points between. Coming down the hill from the center of Lisdoonvarna you are greeted with a breathtaking view of the country side, the Burren and the Aran Islands. We were greeted by the home owners who gave us a tour of the property and explained how everything works in the house. From there you are a short drive away from the pubs and restaurants in Doolin and Lisdoonvarna. If you are looking for a quiet get away look no further. I look forward to staying here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location, perfect for adult group of 7 including small dog. Place is spacious, clean and well equipped. Coffee machine is an added bonus! Nearby to cliffs of Moher and other attractions, coming back in evenings to see the view and watch the sun going down another bonus. John was on site to show us around the house shortly after we arrived - excellent hosts. Would highly recommend their place and will be back in the future.

Wonderful hosts. We had a medical situation as our bags were delayed and Adrienne went out of her way to find the needed items. She also led us to a great shopping area for some fill-in clothing

We had a lovely time staying at Adrienne & John’s house. The property was super clean and we had everything we needed in the kitchen and utility room. I was delighted to find a ‘proper’ coffee maker!.
We especially liked the mezzanine floor with views of the Arun isles.
There was plenty of parking space and outside there’s a lovely patio where we soaked up some sun.
Lisdoonvarna and the surrounding area is very picturesque including the cliffs of Moher and several great beaches nearby.
We rented surfboards at both Lahinch and Fanore (we preferred Fanore as it’s much quieter and more rugged - but still lifeguarded during the day) just watch out for the 2m barriers on all the car parks around as we got caught out with our kayaks and gave them a bit of a scrape. Note that the beaches are not very dog friendly so make sure you walk the dog before 11am and after 6pm.
I’d thoroughly recommend the house and area to anyone wanting a quiet get away in a beautiful area of Ireland.

Beautiful and impeccably clean cottage with everything supplied. On a clear day the views are stunning. It's an ideal location, albeit rural, for touring North and West Clare as well as for visiting the Aran Islands.

Clean and quiet
We had a great five night stay at this property at the end of June with our two children (ages 9 and 11). It is exceptionally clean, and the kitchen and utility room were well-stocked with basics and thoughtful details. Our kids enjoyed the distant ocean views from the loft and even made use of the DVD collection for "Movie Night" one evening. The house is set on a quiet, rural road, but it is within easy driving distance of several points of interest if you don't mind driving (Doolin Cave= 5 minutes, Doolin Pier= 15 minutes, Cliffs of Moher= 20 minutes, Lahinch Beach= 25 minutes, Ailwee Cave= 20 minutes), and it was a great starting point for exploring the Burren region in general. Communication from John and Adrienne was prompt and clear. And they were very kind when we had to call for help unlocking the property when we couldn't open the VRBO app messages because of lack of cell coverage in the region. (Write it all down before you drive there!) We followed the excellent recommendation of a previous reviewer to download the Google maps for Ireland for offline use and to use the EIR code provided by John and Adrienne, which worked brilliantly. The bed in the master bedroom is getting a bit soft and was difficult for my husband's back, but other than that, I can't think of a single complaint. If you like a quieter pace and don't mind being a drive away from restaurants and services, you will enjoy this bucolic setting.

Beautiful views
This property was spacious, clean, well-equipped and beautiful views. There was more tgan enough space for our group of 6. It is a more remote location but only about 5-10minutes into Lisdoorvarna. Would definitely stay here again. The hosts were very easy to communicate with.

Beautiful location
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage. We loved sitting out at night and watching the sunset. The cottage is in a beautiful location and very peaceful – just what we needed! There is only one suggestion we would make and that is a bird table, I can imagine that you have a myriad of wildlife on your doorstep and it would be lovely to see it .

Amazing location in the countyrside of Ireland
This cottage was a perfect choice for our family of four on our stay on the West Coast of Ireland. We wanted to get away from the bustle of Dublin, so we mde the trek to Lisdoonvarna to see the Wild Atlantic Way, and this cottage was the perfect "homebase" to do so. It is only a few minites from Doolin, which had great food and live music (our favorite was Gus O'Conners Pub). The Cliffs of Moher are nearby as well, and we spent a day hiking that path. Doolin Cave is alos minutes away and worth the trip.
The cottage itself was spacious and comfortable. 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and great areas to relax. My daughter loved the loft with views of the Atlantic! There is also a full kitchen if you want to make some mealsin the home to save money (eating out in Ireland gets very expensive). We went to a market that was about 18 mins away and got all we needed and the kitchen was ideal for us!
I was honestly nervous about this trip since it was my first time driving in Ireland, but the hosts were amazing helpful and answered ALL my questions. It is worth noting that this cottage is very much in the country, where roads are crazy narrow and few have actual street names. Use the EIR CODE system on Google Maps and you will be fine! I cannot say enough about the coattage and how much we loved it!

Clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for 6 adults. Location is secluded, secure and easy to find on Google maps. Doolin and Lisdoonvarna are great towns and close.

A most comfortable and spacious house
This is a beautiful house, really spacious with a great kitchen that has everything you could ever need. It also has two living areas, ideal for when kids and adults. Fantastic views from the loft,. My favourite part was looking at the sun set and lights come up on the Aran Islands. The beds were really comfortable also. We all, three generations of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house was very accessible, with plenty of room for a family of 5 like my own, it was extremely quiet at night so everybody got a good night sleep. There were lovely sea views from the living room and upstairs over the kitchen... It was very traditional with a true Irish feeling. We really enjoyed our stay.

We booked for a family of 3 (7yr old son) plus a dog. The house and location were absolutely perfect for us. The house had loads of space. Extremely comfortable. Everything we needed for 6 days. Doolin and lisdoonvarna only 3kms away for quick food/supplies. All of Clare on the doorstep for adventure activities exploring and fun, from Burren to beaches to boat trips and more. We were amazed how much Clare had to offer and enjoyed it all from this house. The house was very well maintained and lovely garden space. Not entirely enclosed but our dog doesn’t wander so the fence was enough to keep her close by. There is an open gate but it leads to a Quiet street and nearby streets, really lovely for gentle walks, evening sunset strolls and sea views. We loved the house. Big thank you to Adrienne and John. We’ll be back :)))
