Located in Woodstock, this lovely chalet for $373 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Dear Traveler, Look no further. This quiet, private and very romantic chalet exudes character, luxury and charm. Peaceful, cozy and secluded at the end of a quiet, wooded cul-de-sac, the Chalet is the perfect getaway for a much-needed private weekend for two. Yet you're only 7 minutes driving time to the Village Green in the middle of town. This rustic, warmly appointed, 625 square foot second story chalet features 18’ cathedral ceilings, a magnificent stone fireplace with realistic electric element, wide plank floors, a private balcony overlooking the private pool... and a super comfy four-poster queen size bed to ensure your restful weekend in the country. Also included are high speed Internet, 200-channel satellite TV and a robust iPod-compatible Bose stereo system. The Chalet has its own private driveway and entrance. A 40' foot breezeway separates the second story Chalet from the main house, ensuring privacy and quietude. The 18'x36' heated saline pool features deliciously soft water and is guaranteed to be open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with September access subject to weather conditions. There's also a romantic poolside Mediterranean-style pergola with a gas grill, refrigerator and bluestone bar so you can enjoy a casually shaded mid-day lunch or dine in rustic luxury under the stars. We're only 3 minutes to the acclaimed Red Onion restaurant, just 5 minutes from Woodstock's popular Cucina ristorante, and 6 to the elegant Silvia restaurant . Another 60 seconds and you're at the Village Green, where you can enjoy many other dining and entertainment venues. And, of course, shopping! ; ) Just up Rock City from the Green is Woodstock's swanky Good Night restaurant. For all you music fans, we're "right around the corner" from the legendary Levon Helm's Barn, home of the Midnight Ramble and some of the best music in the area and just several minutes from Colony, a former 1920s hotel and current bar, restaurant and music venue. Check their websites for available performances. Well-behaved pets less than 50 # are welcome (subject to approval) with $25 fee (per pet/night) and/or nominal $59 VRBO damage insurance, which is contracted directly with them. Sorry, but pets are not allowed in the pool. Kindly note the 2-night minimum. Check-in is 3 pm, check-out is 11 am. Be sure to check out our many favorable guest reviews. We had a fantastic stay at this chalet! It is an adorable place- it feels like you’re in a log cabin in the mountains. It has everything you need to stay a couple nights or weeks- a little refrigerator, an induction cooktop, a microwave, a toaster oven- whatever you’re wanting to make you can do it here! The property is beautiful and close to tons of gorgeous hiking trails. Richard provides a super helpful google doc that I referred to a ton during our trip and was extremely responsive to any questions we had or anything we needed. The only downside is we don’t live closer so we can’t come more often- this place is a treat!

The property is named a « chalet ». A chalet is defined as a stand-alone building. This property is the second floor of the main building. Totally misleading with the photos carefully curated to confirm the impression of a stand-alone structure. If my deposit is not promptly returned, I will file a complaint with the NY AG.

From check in to check out it was an extremely easy and relaxing experience. The space is even more beautiful in person. I can’t think of a single reason not to book this place again. Thank you, Richard.

I’d like to say the space is beautiful and pool is amazing! However, upon arrival we realized the chalet is more of a guesthouse and connected to the main home where the owner lives. It was my mistake for not realizing this during booking but the listing doesn’t specifically mention the owner is on-site. Again my mistake for potentially missing that. Regardless, we did end up enjoying our time and the owner is super nice and accommodating. However if you’re truly looking for a private, tenant only property, make note of that.
The property is dog friendly which we appreciated!
We did love the pool, and there are floats there to use!
We also loved the cozy feel of the chalet. I could see it being super cozy in the fall and winter months as well.
One other thing, it was quite buggy with mosquitoes- however the owner is actively treating the property so I imagine it will be better since our departure.
Overall great time in the Catskills. Hope to be back sometime!

Had a great 5 day stay at the Chalet in Woodstock and Richard is a great host. He's in the adjacent building but checked in by text appropriately to see if we needed anything so no privacy issues. The chalet itself is very clean and well appointed and the pics don't really capture how unique and special the architecture is. Most important things for us in travel is the bed and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower is clean with great pressure. The pool and pergola area is even nicer than the pics ..unfortunately weather wasn't great so didn't get to use the way we hoped ... would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area. Woodstock itself has it's charms and was a fun break.

Set in a bucolic setting and beautifully landscaped, the Chalet is an ideal combination of an intimate, peaceful and private property coupled with easy access to all that Woodstock and the surrounding area has to offer. The pool is marvelous and well maintained, and the cabin larger and more spacious than it appears in the pictures. Richard is the consummate host, responsive and accessible while respectful of one's privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating get away.

We stayed for couple of days in July. We haven't left the property the entire time as there was no reason to. Coming from NYC, it was all we wanted--tranquil and beautiful with a private pool and a grill. It was 100% as described in the listing. The chalet was clean and spacious, but the best part were the surroundings and the spectacular landscaping. Richard, the host, was a gem as well, responsive AND with sense of humor. Couldn't ask for a better getaway. Can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful weekend at the Chalet. Richard was a great host. We enjoyed great weather. The pool was open, there is a lovely fountain, birds chirping in AM and beautiful gardens…perfect get away spot. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Richard’s. The chalet is as described and very well maintained. Richard is responsive and super easy to communicate with.
The only suggestion we have is to potentially look into switching the mattress as it wasn’t super comfortable for us. It sunk in the middle making for not great sleep. Not a deal breaker by any means.
Would definitely recommend staying at Richard’s and we look forward to be able to visit again!

Obviously it was a bit chilly, but we still managed a small time sitting outside enjoying the morning, then strolling around the pool and fire pit. We will definitely be returning here in warmer weather.
An easy drive to the town Woodstock, with top class restaurants also close by (we'd recommend The Red Onion, one of the best meals we've had) and Cucina (an outstanding Italian restaurant)
The only drawback is the lack of Uber, Lyft or reliable cab services. Richard left us a card for Stu's cabs in Woodstock, but he doesn't do nights!
This means if you DO have dinner plans, someone is going to be "designated driver" or just have one glass of wine.

My husband and I spend 5 nights in this beautiful Chalet over New Years weekend. It was the perfect getaway. The property is stunning, super clean. The kitchen was well equipped. So peaceful even thou Richard the owner lives on this property we had complete privacy. The location is excellent, approx 8 mins to Woodstock. We ate at the Red Onion restaurant which is only 4 min drive and Cucina which is approx 7 min drive. Lots of great options for hiking nearby. We hiked everyday. We truly enjoyed this property and will definitely return in the near future.

It's a lovely space for a romantic weekend. It's a short drive from eateries and businesses in the area. We went in November, so we did not use the pool and outdoor area, but I'm sure it would have been great as well.
