About this house rental
Removed from the resort beachfront crowds, the 2 acre Banyan Tree simply overflows with peace and Hawaiiana. Giant Banyan, Monkeypod and Jacaranda trees create perfect shady spots to lounge or sun lovers can enjoy spectacular ocean and mountain views while hanging out around the large pool.
We are just a mile to the quaint cowboy town of Makawao and a 15 drive down to Paia, both of which are brimming with restaurant choices and boutiques. Paia is also home to some of the best beaches on the island.
For those whose taste leans a bit more adventurous than beach days, upcountry Maui is also known for its hiking and mountain biking. Between Poli Poli, Haleakala National Park, and the Makawao Forest Reserve, you will have more than enough exploration options for your trip.
Furnished in traditional island style furniture, the living room, formal dining room, and bedrooms will give you the flavor of old Hawaii. Alongside the flavor of old Hawaii, you will have the conveniences of modern Hawaii with high speed internet, a laundry room, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Rented for a family reunion / milestone event and it was perfect for the occasion. Expansive house / property layout ideal for balancing gathering time and privacy time (with four different natural gathering points between dining room, living room, front porch, and poolside). Well-appointed near-industrial-level kitchen can keep up with all the hungry guests. Host was very responsive, as in "within minutes" responsive to questions / requests via text, and genuinely engaged and enthused to have the house serve as the setting for our successful celebration. Rating it 5 stars only because a 6th star was not available. : ) Mahalo!

Great stay with Heleina and John! The property was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Despite the terrible weather in Hawaii, they went above and beyond to accommodate us, even offering a complimentary extra night in case we got stuck. Truly thoughtful hosts. Would definitely stay again and I highly recommend!

Helaina is a wonderful host. The property is stunning and so surrounded by nature. If you want a private getaway from the hustle and bustle of Maui, this is your spot. I would love to stay here again. We had a group of 11 women and everyone had a fabulous time.

What a great place for our extended family of 12! Plenty of room, and the kids really enjoyed the ping pong table, pool, and hot tub! Helaina was great and left us multiple treats including avocados from her tree!
