Situated in Surf City, this lovely house for $236 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Back for the 2023 season/offseason with numerous upgrades including back yard deck access from the Master Bedroom and guest Queen Bedroom with a 6 Person Island Spa Hot Tub! Beautiful and New Upgrades including Fridge, Microwave, Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer and Additional bedroom on the ground floor with private entry. This home features a large open living, dining, and kitchen area with room for the whole crew! Easy living on one level! A large Master Bedroom with a NEW King bed, walk in closet, private bath with Jacuzzi Tub, Flat Screen TV, and access to the back covered lanai with Sound views. The second bedroom has a Queen bed Flat Screen TV with its own direct access to the back lanai to relax and watch the beautiful Topsail Island sunsets. The third bedroom has a NEW Queen size bed Flat Screen TV and private closet. There is also a full bathroom between the second and third bedrooms. The fourth bedroom has a Queen Size Bed and TV with internet access for Net Flix, Amazon Prime, or streaming TV. Enjoy the sunrise while rocking on the front porch and sipping coffee! On the ground floor, there is a private bedroom, large sectional sofa, flat screen TV, a ping pong table and a full bathroom. For extra sleeping, this room has a twin over futon bunk bed and a day bed w/trundle. Under the decks is a cool space for a game of darts, cornhole, outdoor ping pong, or just relaxing in a Swing and enjoying the breeze! There is direct beach access only a two blocks away! Enjoy the public playground park across the street, live entertainment two blocks away, and a quaint market for forgotten and daily items. This location has it all! 4 BR, 3 Bath, Sleeps 14: 1K, 3Q, 1PB, 2T. LINENS NOT PROVIDED UNLESS PURCHASED. (Rental linens include sheets for each bed listed, a set of towels for each person, bath mat for each full bath, and a set of kitchen towels. $100 for all rooms or $25 for each room needed). The house was not properly cleaned before arrival. Lots of pet hair through out the house. Trash cans in kitchen had mold on lids. All the rugs through out the home were stained and not cleaned before our visit. The house states it accommodates 13 but has 7 forks . The master bathroom shower doors are not attached to the the track and toilet sit is coming off the hinge. The bikes listed for use were unable to be ridden because the chains were off and extremely rusted. I know the salt air will do that but we cold not make it work. Several pieces of outdoor furniture were rusted to the point of falling apart, a table leg fell off during our stay. It is in a great location, just not happy with the conditions of the house.

Loved the location. Very convenient to everything. Very spacious and we loved the front porch. We spent a lot of time out there loving the view and it's peacefulness. ..loved the decor too.

All in all house was good! Close to beach, park and attractions, good price, open floor plan for being together, plenty of space, owners were very quick to respond to concerns and questions, updated refrigerator was nice, WiFi TVs great for finding movies for kids..... Suggestions of broom, mop, cleaning solution available for guests to clean during stay, better cleaning during their turnover, leaving adequate toilet paper and trash bags for week or letting renters know to bring these, better mattresses. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again !

We had a wonderful vacation at Something About Mary! This was our first time using VRBO, and we are very pleased! The house was very neat & clean, nicely furnished, and close walking distance to the beach! The owners are extremely kind, and we would gladly stay at this property again!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with 2 of our military children and families. We have a marine at Le Jeune and an airman at Langley so this was a good meeting point for all to spend the Easter holiday. It is well stocked with everything you would need to prepare a family dinner as we had our Easter feast. We loved the extra large table which is unusual we have found in rentals such as these. Loved our time and are already planning on trying to come back this summer!! Thanks to the wonderful owners.... who always responded back with answers to questions very quickly and even allowed us an earlier check in . Also the playground was great for our littles to run off some energy in the evening after dinner!! Not sure how they still had energy after the beach days we had but they did!! A great time was definitely had by all!!

This was an excellent place to stay. It was spacious, clean, well decorated with everything we needed. It was great having the downstairs game room so the kids could stay up late or get up late and not be in our way. Light and sunny with several available porches to sit outside and enjoy the view.

What a lovely home in a perfect location. The owners were very attentive and communicative. Hard floors throughout with no carpeting. Very well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Beautifully decorated. Short walk to the beach and near an impressive playground. You can tell this home is loved and cared for very well. We hope to visit again!

Booked "Something about Mary" for family weekend to celebrate the 1st birthday of a great niece. My sisters complemented me on finding a perfect spot that felt like home while still on vacation. The house has a nice balance of private spaces for individual relaxation or quiet conversation and larger rooms for a whole group to spend time together. Nearby public beach access made for lovely walks to enjoy the ocean. Was a bit concerned about the nightly music at the bar down the block, but the home was fairly soundproof once inside. While the wicker furniture and glass top tables were lovely, I would hesitate to book the home if my rambunctious grandsons were on this trip rather than the low-key toddler who appreciated climbing on and off the pillow-lined chairs. PROS: close to ocean without the beachfront price; front and back porches with plenty of seating; ample parking; easy, secure key pick-up and drop off; outdoor shower; responsive owners; market at the end of the block (open 24hrs Memorial Day to Labor Day); great beach in a low-key residential area with eateries and shops a few miles away CONS: while the posting said no pets we found dog hair when we swept the kitchen/dining area and on the cushions on the front port, this made sense of why my husband's allergies acted up after our first day at the home. Lower spigot near the outdoor shower just dripped so had to do a bit of stretching to rinse off feet with the upper shower head; no "welcome book" that included instructions for how different showers worked, garbage and recycling options

We had a wonderful vacation. The beach house was perfect for our family of 5 and grandparents. With small children, I loved how close we were to the playground and beach access. Very close to shops and restaurants.
