Cake By The Ocean did not meet expectations of cleanliness or customer service for the price point
Location and view are wonderful. We love the pool and the beach.
Property was extremely nice when we first visited in March of 2019, but does not seem to have been well cared for. House was not very clean. There was significant dust levels on the windowsills, in the corners, on the shelves, on the AC grates and the fan blades. Toilets and dishes were not fully clean and found cockroaches on the floor. Clothes dryer did not work during entire stay, which was a problem with the limited towels provided. When I contacted the Property Manager regarding this matter, I was advised that I would be receiving a partial refund considering a major appliance was not functioning. When I had not received a refund one month after checkout, I followed up and was advised the refund was pending approval by the administrator and it would be issued in 5-10 business days. and when I followed up again in two weeks, I received a response that "this is no longer an active Vacasa number." I am highly dissatisfied by the customer service and lack of concern regarding my feedback on the unacceptable state of the property, given the $900+/night rate.
