Right in the action with Saywell Park across the road, the launch spot for tubing the river as well as shuttle drop off. Saywell Park also offers community events, a great swimming hole and public dock for those looking to dive into the lake. Since your downtown you can walk to restaurants, pubs, grocery stores and shopping. Right out front of the house is the start to the Trans Canada Trail offering great walking and trail riding, with loops to Skutz Falls and trussels to see! This is a great place for families to stay or couples looking to explore Vancouver Island with its central location. The Space: The accommodation provides 2 separate sleeping areas ideal for families or couples. The upper level has french doors leading to a large deck area with furniture and BBQ. Kitchen is fully equipped with island. Living room has Smart TV, cable, Internet and Netflix. Comfortable queen sized bed in master bedroom and a full bathroom. Lower level has large living space with electric fireplace, Smart TV including Netflix etc, games, a double bunk and single bunk, full bathroom and laundry room. Things to do: The Lake Cowichan Tourist Information Centre is also located at Saywell Park. The Cowichan River is world renowned for its fly-fishing. It is also an easy drive to Port Renfrew that offers excellent ocean fishing. Botanical Beach just past Port Renfrew is also a great spot to check out. Very cute and cozy house. We specifically visited Lake Cowichan to ride the trestles. The Cowichan Valley Trail starts right in front of the house so we could just hop on our bikes and start from there. Communication with Tyler was easy.The house is neat and clean. Easy to walk to the lake, town, shops and restaurant.

Communication with the property manager was quick, efficient, and hassle-free. Everything was as advertised in the house. This was the perfect location for attending Laketown Shakedown music festival as it was less than a 10 minute drive to the venue. We loved the quick and easy walk into town to get food groceries.

Our family had a fantastic time!! The place was clean, the kitchen had all the essentials for us to cook. The bbq in the deck was well enjoyed!! Having the 2 bathrooms was perfection. We went to the Cowichan river and had the best time floating down. The best part is that this place is walking distance from the tube shack so we didn’t have to worry about parking!! Overall an amazing place to stay. Thank you so much!!

June vacation at Lake Cowichan
We stayed at this home for a week in June. It was perfect for our plans. We attended the Cowichan Lake bluegrass festival and cycled on the TransCanada and Cowichan River Valley trails. The location was perfect and very quiet and relaxing. Convient for shops and Jake's on the Lake pub. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all the extras you need for cooking. Two bathrooms and two TVs ! All clean and very well organized.

Great location and layout for family
If you are hoping to tube the Cowichan River you can’t beat the location! Perfectly laid out for a family with teens as they had their own space.

Adorable Home Close to Town
We enjoyed our 5 night stay during a heat wave. Good thing for the basement area which kept fairly cool. There were no screens in windows or air conditioning. Tyler offered to give us a refund because of the abnormal heat. Tyler was super responsive and a great host. He is looking into air conditioning and window screens for next season as it seems that these heat waves are to become our new normal perhaps. We appreciated Tyler's refund offer but decided to stay as we were in short walking distance to a good spot to jump in the river. We spent a lot of time downstairs with the fan on and it was bearable. Our small family of three enjoyed spending time together watching a late night movie before hitting the sack. We enjoyed tubing down Cowichan River, daily swimming and trying out all the restaurants. Thank for letting us stay in your home Tyler.

A very comfortable spot for a short stay. Three things need some attention however. 1. The two outside electrical plugs were not working (we have a Tesla). 2. Lighting needs some thoughts; it was not possible to read comfortably on the couch or in bed. 3. We would have preferred having the water heater set to a higher temperature.

Wonderful Home Away From Home
One of our many visits to Lake Cowichan, with family living in the community, but wanted our own place to make room for others at family homes. The rental was perfect, very clean, homey, with many thought out conveniences (location, well equipped kitchen, smart TV) making the stay comfortable and convenient. We would definitely recommend!!

A great time!!
I rented the cottage for a couple of my best friends and I to do some fishing and exploring of the Cowichan valley well they were in Canada visiting from the states. We got rained out (time of year) of most of our out door plans and spent most of the time relaxing in this cozy cottage it has a great entertainment set up. Even though it's not on the river or lake it is very conveniently located and is very quiet I would definitely recommend it.

Great location and ideal for 2 couples!
My husband and I took my 80 year old mother here along with her 85 year old husband for her 80th birthday so we could go to a play in Chemainus. It is a 30 minute drive. I also took them for a fabulous dinner at Jake's just a block away. The house was perfect! I love the upstairs and downstairs layout as they both have full bathrooms and a great TV setup so we could watch our own shows. The place was clean and well supplied with everything we needed to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay. With in walking distance to the park and town. The owner has made it a very comfortable place Everything there you need just bring a few groceries and your suitcase and relax and enjoy. Having the internet and tv was very nice also. My family and certainly enjoyed our stay. Would love to go back another time.
