About this condo rental
Nestled in Wailea, this charming condo for $750 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. No other condo on Maui can beat this beachfront location and upscale modernity mixed with Hawaiian beachfront chic. Full remodel finished in December 2023. Located in the oceanfront B Building, the entire unit faces outwards over the Pacific Ocean through a fifteen foot length glass door. The first thing visitors say is, “oh god, it looks exactly like the pictures. Wow.” Through the door, the lanai has a view that makes even the locals say, "wow." Even the professional pictures I had done don’t do the experience justice. You will fall in love with it instantly, it is truly amazing. The lanai is the perfect place for you to relax and find peace watching the ocean, easily spot whales playing in the Pacific, watch the unobstructed sunsets, and stargaze and relax. You can also bbq under the sun from the privacy of your own lanai, which is rare on Maui. In front of the condo is Chang’s beach, more commonly referred to as “turtle town.” If you take a snorkel tour of South Maui, those boats will likely take you to these shores to experience some of Maui’s most lively snorkeling. You will see turtles if you snorkel here, they are everywhere at Chang’s. Many guests have taken themselves on their own whale watch trip by paddle boarding in the morning. (Paddleboards and Kayaks are not provided, they must be rented). Walking back through the lanai, the condo provides its own luxuries. A modern and comfortably furnished living room is the perfect place to spend your morning eating breakfast while listening to the ocean waves crash. The kitchen is fully equipped for you, while the BBQ is also only steps away from the dining room. The kitchen, dining area, and living area were all recently furnished and remodeled in the Fall of 2023. The furniture is a mix of classic brand names and has incredible style. Each bedroom has its own separate full bathroom. Not to miss a game or an episode, the living room also features an entertainment center with a 65 inch Samsung LED SmartTv as well as an Roku, a Bose sound bar, and a "take one, leave one" book library. Both the living room and bedroom TVs have cable and RokuTv. Just out the front door of the B Building are a heated pool and hot tub exclusively for guests of the Makena Surf B building, perfect for floating in the sun or soaking your body after a day spent on the sand. Adjacent to the pool are two well-maintained tennis courts, pickle ball courts, and a tropical garden. Four tennis rackets are provided, as well as tennis balls. Tennis lessons and clinics are also available during certain periods. Pickleball set is also provided in the utility locker. The condo has an activity locker that is loaded with all the beach and leisure supplies you would want in Hawaii. There are complete sets of adult and children’s fins and snorkels, boogie boards, pool noodles, four tennis rackets, pickle ball set, children’s beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and some other nicknacks left behind by prior guests. The condo kitchen is fully stocked as if you had lived there for several years. It is ready to handle all of your cooking, baking, and BBQ’ing needs. If you have any questions, please ask. I am glad to act as a concierge to guide your reservations to the best restaurants, boating services, spas, and hidden local gems. There is also a welcome book with much of this advice in writing. Disclaimers: - Visitors from Canada: Before booking, pay attention to your flight times. Almost all flights to Canada from Maui leave AFTER 10pm. Unfortunately, after many bad actors late check out is not available for this unit. If you would like to use the unit “for the day” you will need to reserve another full day- No exceptions. - This unit does not sleep five adults, unless the fifth is a baby in a crib. Four adults maximum. - There are several tools provided to make awesome coffee: drip, k cup, nespresso, pourover. Guests are responsible for acquiring their own coffee/pods/grounds/beans. At first there was some hesitation over a couple of the reviews. But Peter assured us everything was taken care of. He even sent updated photos and a video to me personally. We have stayed at Makena Surf many times. His property, by far, is the best that we have seen.
We had no issues at all checking in. Easiest process ever.
The condo was immaculate. Everything looked even better than the photos.
Everything you will need is provided. Internet worked great and had good speed. A/C worked great and kept us cool. The kitchen was well stocked and had most everything you may need.
The guest bathroom showerhead needed to be replaced. Not only did Peter call me back immediately, but offered to fix it that night. He came first thing the next day. Shower works great!
We didn’t have any other issues.
When we decide to return to Maui, he will be the first person that I call. Great to work with and the condo was wonderful.

The place was located in Makena with beautiful view of ocean. It was in an excellent condition and quiet. The host was very accommodating. We are hoping to stay there again next year. Mahalo.

If beachfront location and view are your main criteria, this condo is for you! In addition to location, we chose this property because of the lovely interior photos on VRBO when we booked and which remain online now. But the living and bedroom furnishings were very different from the beautiful photos and not to our taste or comfort. The closet doors were removed to reveal oversupplied linens and toiletries, which should have been stored off-site. The master bath photo had a window with a view of the ocean, which had been replaced with a wall. And cleaning supplies and equipment were stored in view on the lanai, in the living room and bathrooms - not what we expected for an expensive property.

Absolutely stunning balcony/lanai to whale watch ( and we saw lots everyday!), and amazing sunsets as well. We spent lots of time out there for dinners and drinks. Beach access was great and pool and hot tub was nice. Bed were comfy and condo was well equipped.

Wow!!! This condo has it all! Amazing views, very comfortable beds and furnishings, resort like amenities without the crowds, a beautiful beach and great snorkeling (we saw several turtles)… just steps away. The grounds are beautiful, the pool and spa right are right out the front door. There is a huge selection of beach toys for the kids, snorkel gear, beach umbrellas & sand chairs. The condo was clean, quiet, very well stocked and has been updated very nicely. We appreciated having air conditioning. There are no elevators, but climbing the stairs worked off a bit of the delicious dinning we did in nearby Wailea. We loved every single minute of our 14 day stay. God willing, will return next year. The owner is very responsive, we had a health issue arise during our stay that needed attention and he had some great advice on where to go for that. Thank you, Pete!

Heaven on earth
You cannot get much better than this! Property was beautiful, quiet and very well maintained. 2 pools and of course the beaches. Turtles were often spotted and there was wonderful snorkeling right from the beach. Host was excellent, responded to our questions in a very resonable time and we had everything we needed in the condo including snorkling gear, boogi boards and umbrellas, towles etc. Highly recommend and we will use this location in our future trips to the islands.

Peter was great and easy to communicate with, but the property was beautiful. My wife and I had 10 wonderful days in the condo. Every meal and relaxation time was on the lanai overlooking the beach and ocean. The pictures can't compare to actually being there and hearing the sounds of the waves on the beach. A great size condo for 4, but perfect for 2. The location was just what we were looking for, peaceful setting and area but close enough to shopping and restaurants when we wanted them. While there, don't miss going to Big Beach just down the road. The condo has beach chairs and umbrellas to take with. It really did offer so much. We loved our stay.

Perfect getaway
The condo is well equipped with beach equipment including snorkel gear, beach chairs, towels as well as the kitchen including a barbecue on the lanai. The beach out front of the condo is not busy and we would see turtles everyday.

Fantastic Sunsets from the Lanai
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makena Surf. The unit was exactly as depicted and had everything you needed, both inside and for the beach/snorkeling. The pools were quiet and relaxing as well. The beach area was busy but never seemed crowded and the owner occupied residents were very friendly to guests. Amazing stay! Perfect for four adults. Easy beach access. Pool and tennis courts in good shape. Property hard to find in complex but once there, a great rental! Beware of three flights of stairs, no elevator. We loved it!

-grill left dirty with propane almost gone
-no secure safe as advertised
-dishwasher broke down and no dishwasher for a couple of weeks
-washing machine broke down day before we left
