With stunning ocean views, elegant style, and artistic elements, The Mermaid is truly unique. Nestled in Arch Cape, about 70 miles west of Portland, this tranquil getaway affords easy access to the beach along a nature trail. Once upon a time a live album (Arch Cape Sessions) was recorded in the living room, writers have holed up for weeks on end to focus on their craft, and families and artists have come to the Mermaid to refresh, relax, and reflect.
When the tide is out, wander North around various sandstone outcroppings to Hug Point, Arcadia Beach, even all the way to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Wander South around the Cape and you will find the Arches for which Arch Cape is named, and some exquisite tidepools. Fine dining and shopping are minutes away in Cannon Beach to the North, and Manzanita to the South.
The Mermaid sleeps 6, offers a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, large upper and lower decks, and a hot tub with an ocean view.

The house itself was cute, well stocked with kitchen supplies, and mostly clean. The spiral stairs are rough to go up and it made getting suitcases up into the rooms awkward. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach and the path to it was nice. The bedding was great and really comfortable, but we all slept poorly bc of how hot it was. There is no air conditioning and there were no fans to cool us down upstairs, the house was sitting at 78-80 degrees inside. Also didn’t like being responsible for washing sheets and towels, and figuring out the logistics of it into our schedule.

Such a cute house and a beautiful view of the ocean. Only tough part with my family of 5 was 1 shower of the 2 bathrooms. Overall a great place and would recommend to friends!

It was an amazing location! Beautiful house, and private beach access! We loved the mermaid railings! Hot tub was hot and clean! With fabulous views! We will be back

Hot tub was fabulous and the kitchen certainly met all of our needs. This is a lovely home, we had one small hiccup upon arriving, but the homeowners were adamant to make things right, which they certainly did and was appreciated!
