About this cabin rental
*****Note*** September 2023***** Last spring we replaced the woodstove with a brand new unit. We recently replaced all of the beds with brand new frames, mattresses and box springs. We also upgraded the kitchen and now have a complete set of GreenPan Cookware. In case you've never heard of it, it's great stuff! We also have recently refinished the floor and upgraded the heating system, which probably doesn't matter to you, but we are excited about it. :) Enjoy the Adirondack lifestyle in this brand new, secluded log cabin. Located at the end of a 150 foot driveway on a quiet road in “Ausable Acres”, the Cayuga Cabin provides a quiet getaway but is close to all the High Peaks attractions. If a half a dozen cars go by, thats a busy day. Pets are welcome. The Cayuga Cabin comes completely furnished for any length stay - full kitchen with great cookware, dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer, gas grill and even a whirlpool tub are on the premises. Two TV’s with cable make the Cayuga Cabin very family friendly. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a queen, the other a double. There are two singles in the loft. Second bath is in the basement. The Cayuga Cabin is a 5 minute walk to fishing access in the renowned West Branch of the Ausable River and 20 minutes to Whiteface Mountain, Santa’s Workshop and High Falls Gorge. The Olympic Village of Lake Placid is less than 25 minutes as is Ausable Chasm – the nation’s oldest natural attraction. Montreal, Quebec and Burlington, Vermont are easy day trips. The finest hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and cross-country skiing in the High Peaks are all at your fingertips. When you come home from a day of Adirondack adventure relax on the spacious deck or in the whirlpool tub. Within the Ausable Acres development you have access to several hiking and cross-country skiing trails, tennis courts and the Lake Eaton Picnic & Playground area. For the golfer there are 6 courses ranging from 30 to 60 minutes away. 10 minutes away is the “Jay swimming hole” on the East Branch of the Ausable River which was listed in Sports Illustrated as on of the top 10 swimming holes in the US. This is also the site of the Jay Covered Bridge, recently refurbished and a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

Was a great place for our family of 5. Whiteface mtn was a quick 20 mins away and Lake Placid was about 35 mins. Everything we needed was at the house to make it a great weekend!

We had a very nice stay for Christmas at the Cayuga Cabin. It was so cozy and had everything we needed. The secluded cabin was great for calming dogs and relaxation for our family. Thank you for letting us stay!

We booked the cabin for a cozy weekend in and it was perfect. It was myself, husband, teen daughter and our 2 pups and there was room for everyone. We would definitely book again.

The cabin was beautiful and exceeded our expeçtations. Our hosts were great and answered many questions I had prior to arrival. We spent our morning and evenings on the porch relaxing.

Amazing stay in the ADK!!! It was such a great stay in a beautiful cabin! Easy access to some private hiking trails too!

A great place in a great location. Very secluded and quiet, yet only a 10 minute drive to the grocery and liquor stores, which were important because we did get some rain and spent more time inside, though the environment was so inviting that was no hardship.
The owners recommended some close by attractions, and the Silver Lake Bog and overlook was one of the high points of the trip. I hiked up to the overlook what was located right within the neighborhood and though it was a LOT steeper than I expected, and a little bit longer, it was well worth the effort. The weather was obliging, it was sunset, and the best views of our entire trip.
There was plenty of dry wood provided and we had fires going most of the time, both inside and out. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen was equipped for all that we could need.
Great vacation..

Property is fairly secluded without being too far from civilization. Having two bathrooms was a huge plus with a large group. Well appointed kitchen and the fire pit with wood provided was great. Owners friendly and quick responses to questions. Surprised us at check in with a bottle of champagne because I let them know we were eloping at sunrise on a local mountain. Went above and beyond as hosts! We had a great stay and would definitely book again!

Nice little cabin in woods. Wood for outside pit was covered and dry. Love outside firepit! Glad we brought another air mattress. The one in cabin didn't hold air. Loft view is amazing!!! Wasted space up there though with just two twin beds.

My family and I had a great stay. The cabin was cozy and quiet. We were right around the corner from fishing access, close to many hiking trails. Great weekend getaway!

We were glad to find something that was near to so many hiking trails! It was definitely peaceful, and we really enjoyed the deck and firepit areas. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 to lounge and sleep, and the multiple showers made it easy to refresh after hours of hiking. The laundry area was also a great thing to have access to!
We appreciated the recommendations the owner listed in the binder, and checked out the farmer's market that was nearby (HIGHLY recommend the farmer's market).
We would recommend bringing shampoo, any spices/seasonings for cooking, and condiments needed for your meals during your stay (but there is a TOPS, and other stores, not too far away from the house).
Very relaxing stay at the cabin - it provided a great "home-base" during our vacation.

Clean and roomy cabin in a secluded location, perfect place to stay when hiking in the Adirondacks.

Great cabin in the woods...ideal for families looking to truly enjoy nature. Would return again in a heartbeat.

Had a good time. We have two dogs and the house was perfect for them. Rick was a very good host. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean but the deck, windows, and behind furniture could all use some cleaning. Close to a few awesome swimming holes and hikes but a bit hard to find a decent restaurant without driving 20-30 min.

The house was extremely dirty. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. We found hair and dirt in beds, kitchen and bathrooms needs a deep clean. Bodily fluids sprayed around toilets and fecal matter left in basement toilet upon arrival. Dog hair all over. It’s a shame cause this place has lots of potential if it would just be maintained and deep cleaned properly. Had to spend the first full day cleaning and rewashing towels and bedsheets for my family. Very upsetting.

Coming from the city life this place is a definite go lots of quiet, space, and peace and, the scenery is breathtaking.

Cabin is cute if a bit worn from time. Floor is hard to keep clean because of Sandy property but it was nice and the kids loved the fire pit. I loved the privacy and the setting.

Excellent space and a wonderful cabin but in need of a deep clean and some TLC.

We enjoyed our time with family in this rustic, cozy cabin in the woods. We had all the conveniences and were close to plenty of hiking trails and outdoor activities for everyone. Good restaurants were accessible too.

Lovely stay. Beautiful location. Very well equipped.

Great spot, secluded enough to use the outdoor firepit. The weather was cool so the new wood stove was terrific.

Loved the location and the privacy of the cabin. Close enough to town for necessities or sight seeing but far enough in the woods to be such a cozy stay. We preferred the cabin in the woods over the strip of lake placid haha very lovely. My husband and I and our 20 month old daughter loved it here and would stay again
4.0
I would give it 5 stars but the place needs some maintenance and renew some of the products of the kitchen
Other than that it’s a good place to visit the adirondacks.

Cute. Great spot. Not clean.

Beautiful cabin in the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains! The home provided EVERYTHING we needed. The owners also provided a book of information about the area. This spot is a MUST if you’re planning on staying in the area.

We absolutely loved the cabin. We had a bonfire nearly every night and indoor fireplace. The teenagers hung out in the loft and the adults took the bedroom. Having the laundry onsite was great. The flashlights need to be changed out, and be careful of the ADK chairs by the bonfire area as they are wobbly; we informed the owners who were always responsive. We would definitely love to come back. Thank you Rick and Sue.

It was perfect.

Overall the stay was enjoyable. The only disappointment was the fact that there was no wood stove as advertised on the listing/ shown in the property photos and this was a key factor with choosing to book this particular cabin.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin for a long weekend. It was so quiet and secluded, but still close enough to attractions like Lake Placid and Whiteface so it felt like there was plenty to do. I’m hoping we can come back some day during the warmer weather months and do lots of the hiking trails in the area!

The Place is gorgeous. Close enough to ski and village.
Definitely recommended

This is the second time we stayed here. It is a lovely, welcoming home in a great location. The owners were helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week away at the cabin! The pictures of the property let us know exactly what to expect when we got there. Kitchen was fully stocked. Rick was very responsive to our texts and got us everything we needed. Really appreciate him! Hopefully we'll be back in the warmer months to enjoy the firepit!

We loved our stay at the cozy cabin in the woods! It was so secluded, beautiful and peaceful. We had a great time getting away for my husband's birthday and the kids loved being able to play outside in the snow! We went sledding, ventured in the woods and had lots of snowball fights! Will recommend this place to everyone we know and will definitely be back!

My family and I enjoyed our time in this cabin. Very nice cabin and a very friendly small town. Thank you, Mr. Rick for everything that you’ve done for us to prepare us for the snowstorm.

We love this cabin. Overall we enjoyed our time! So many good things to say… rustic, quiet, very pretty area, lots of firewood, the cabin layout is wonderful, lots of blankets (though they seemed a bit used), pillows and thank God for the pet friendly salt!!!!
There were a few of issues.
It was just NOT clean! My friend sat on a kitchen chair (she is not heavy) the chair had been broken and she almost landed on the floor. Lots of good utensils but we brought pancake mix and there was no flapjack flipper. LOL!!! Kcup coffee machine didn’t work, there was a regular coffee maker though.
Bed spread and shams seemed dirty.
The weather was VERY rough. Snow all the way for our 5.5 hour drive that took 11 hours due to bad roads. The roads that led to the cabin were snowy but able to maneuver. 4x4 would be a good idea in the winter.
I was told there were a couple of steps to get into the cabin, there were eight. I did explain to the host that my mom is severely handicapped, guess I should have stressed it a bit stronger. Little side note… the driveway was fun. I turned my car around, backed up the hill as far as I could to the cabin, flew down the hill and up the other side to the road… I made it!!!! I wondered if I would, very slippery!!!
With all that said, we would like to book this cabin for Christmas 2024 for three days instead of two.
Thank you for everything!!!
Merry Christmas!
