Casa Belvedere was a tremendous local house with glorious views

The house was immaculately clean, well decorated and comfortable. Bathrooms spacious and the views totally glorious. Our host was very welcoming and helped us make bookings and gave wonderful local advice.

A dryer to dry our clothes, wood and fuel for the bbq.

La dolce vita at Casa Belvedere

Everything was fabulous for the week we stayed and it was lovely to be set above the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. Even fireworks in the town can be seen from above! The house is stunning with views to match. Sunsets to die for over the Bay of Naples and the beautiful olive trees providing shade by day on and the various comfortable seating. Casa Belvedere has a lovely welcoming feel and everything anyone would need. It was even better in real life than the photos as they can't convey the historic character of the property and the lovely landscaping. Set over 3 floors and terraces makes it interesting and everyone has their own space. We were a family of 4 (with 2 teenage children). Very clean and with very comfortable beds, lovely crisp linen and wifi galore. There was TV too with over 100 Italian channels but we didn't bother with that. Great for touring the area and only an hour or so to Pompeii by car for example. There was even a friendly neighbourhood cat visitor who called outside at least once a day that we loved as it was like a home away from home (in photos)! Maria who managed the keys and information had excellent communication skills and was warm and friendly yet professional. She even called on my birthday (it was a 'big' one) with a gift from her and the owners. Amazing touches that made the stay very special indeed. I would love to return one day... Thank you!

The only small things I can think of was that only 2 of the bedrooms have air con and we were there in extreme heat so one of my children missed out on that comfort in favour of their own privacy. If I had small children as it is on multiple levels, I would worry about them falling or would have to closely supervised. The mid floor balcony had quite a low wall too I felt but this was not an issue for us. Also a word to the middle aged of us out there, the pool is lovely and immaculately maintained every other day (very discreetly early in the morning) but as you can see is accessed by a ladder in and out which takes some time to get used to with any decorum! It was a fabulous oasis and nice and roomy in the heat so I got over it pretty quickly! Yes, as others have said the drive is very tight hairpin bend too but our hire car was way too big (Jeep Cherokee) to tour that part of the coast and it's narrow roads also. Luckily my husband managed it every time but maybe something for a nervous driver to consider. I'm glad it was not me doing it though...

The property was fabulous, had everything you needed and a fantastic outdoor area with 2 balconies, a pool and plenty of chairs. The sunset views were amazing.

The only thing we found was that it was quite a walk to the centre of the town but once we figured out a shortcut and the local bus this was easier.

Beautiful Views of Sorrento!

Nice house, good facilities and very efficient people there to meet and help you. Great terrace and fantastic views of the entire area all the way over to Vesuvius and Naples.

Difficult to find and the garden could do with a clean up and tidy. Bedroom very warm and air conditioning wasn't functioning properly.

Almost Heaven

Spacious...very secure, terrace and decks were enjoyable, views are breathtaking..processing and access were professional and timely .... superb restaurants nearby...bus stop at bottom of street

Parking is tight....many steps for seniors to climb.....wifi weaker than used to in US......GPS location inaccurate

Great location. Big house. Some items should be improved.

The house is perfectly located in the hills above Sorrento. It is about 4 KM from the center of town and next (walking distance) to a good restaurant (working only in the evening). The house is quite big (3 floors) and has provided excellent space for all of us (5 adults). The view from the house is amazing and you can see from Naples on one side to Capri on the other while overlooking downtown Sorrento and the Harbor. The house has a pool (operates in the summer). The house comes with a cat that needs some feeding. The rental agency was very responsive since we have made the rent until we left the house. Communicating with them using WhatsApp was great.

There are several items that should be noticed: (1) There is a bus from Sorrento to the house. However it runs only 3 times a day, so a car is almost mandatory. (2) The drive way is quite narrow and uphill. The car should be small enough (there is a relatively narrow gate) or you need to be a very good driver to maneuver to pass the gate and within the property. (3) From the parking near the pool you have to clime about 20 stairs to reach the entrance. Might not be pleasant when it rains. (4) The Wi-Fi in the hours is flaky. It is good on the 2nd floor, but average to poor in the rest of the house. In some spots it doesn't exist. (5) The kitchen has no working area, so if you would like to cook a real meal it is going to be quite hard not having a decent working surface. (6) The living room is quite dark even when all lights are turned on. Despite these small disadvantages we had great time in Sorrento.
