Nestled in Sint Michiel, this charming villa for $203 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Villa Troupial is a Caribbean styled “FULLY AIR-CONDITIONED” family friendly “single Detached Villa” (meaning the unit is not share with an upper or lower guest). The open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and immense outdoor space provide you the optimum Caribbean experience. The location of the villa provides a private and serene experience for 1-6 persons with outstanding views of the golf course, owners pool and lovely gardens. ***Pictures on our site are accurate and up-dated as of 2024, (No photo shop) BlueBay Resort is an 8-minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes to downtown Willemstad. As a guest you will have access to a stunning beach with full use of sun beds, owner pool, 18-hole golf course, 5-star PADI dive shop, beach bar, and restaurants. While the resort is gated and has 24 hr. security, the island is very safe to traverse any time of day or night. (We highly recommend getting out and about). The villa features over 1600 sq ft of space, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large wrap around deck that provide outdoor living and dining at its best, a well-appointed kitchen including dishwasher and ample appliances. Master and second bedroom have large closets and en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, AC, and ample lighting. The 3rd bedroom has twin beds and AC for comfort. All bedroom windows have screens to enhance the through house breeze during the day. For your convenience a safe is located in the master closet. The veranda is the star of the show with an amazing views. A large lounge area awaits your group (great place for late day or evening drinks and conversation), the dining table easily accommodates six persons, and two loungers provide a great place for that afternoon nap. Enjoy the trade winds, along with the sounds & sightings of parrots, bananaquits, and of course the colorful “TROUPIAL.” In the evenings the deck has attractive and mood setting up/down lighting which adds to the atmosphere and provides a great place for games and quality time with family & friends. Great location right within Blue Bay resort/community. 5 minute walk to the beach and golf course. Close to all the amenities you would need, groceries etc. Highly recommend!

House was as described and the community is great. The house offered plenty of towels and had extra snorkeling equipment to use. I would recommend a better manual for the use of the house such as how to use the dishwasher and should be in the house versus emailed. Also would have been nice to have deck chairs and an umbrella to use

Enjoyed the resort. Great location. Fabulous deck. Nice place with great potential. some run down parts, fixtures. not very clean. Looks minimally maintained. The ceiling fans are old and rusty. they wobble, clank. Missing light bulbs. Found someone’s old socks in the sofa cushions.

Our family of 5 spent 6 days in Blue Bay at this lovely home. Listing is accurate and the home is very comfortable, located a short drive from the airport and Willemstad. It is part of the Blue Bay Golf & Beach Resort property. The beach at Blue Bay is beautiful - crystal clear water, white sand and lots of fun fish to spot when snorkeling. Also has dining options on premises. Our hosts, Joe and Michelle, were amazing! They proactively provided us with a comprehensive list of recommendations for activities, beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, even car rental - they made sure we had all the info we could ever want at our fingertips. They are very responsive and happy to answer any questions you have. It truly felt like our home away from home. Curaçao is the perfect getaway for beach lovers and we can’t wait to go back! We will absolutely stay here again.

The pictures of the property do not do the resort justice. It is absolutely beautiful. Many evenings were spent watching the sun set from the balcony. Villa had everything we needed for a 10 day stay. Fully stocked kitchen has all accoutrements you need to prepare meals at home. The resort's location was great for a longer stay. Only minutes from grocery stores and the mall and only about 15 minutes from Willemstad. The resort beach is well maintained and not too crowded with plenty of beach chairs and shade. The resort's pool was a great respite from the heat. The restaurants in the resort were good for a romantic evening meal on the beach, as well as breakfast. If you are looking for a great home base for exploring Curacao, this villa is the perfect place to stay.

Our family stayed here Sept 28-Oct 3, 2023. I cannot say enough good about our stay at this house! Communication with the owner was excellent. The information packets were very clear and helpful. Super great maps to locate the place. Photos of the interior to find switches for different fans and lights. SO convenient. And a tremendous about of information about what to do in the area. We appreciated the bin of snorkeling equipment available for use. The layout is spacious with room to relax. The flowers/landscaping all over the resort is beautiful. If you are debating between different properties at this resort, I would point out that this one does have air conditioning for the living room, and not just the bedrooms. Other guests and even the bride and her parents were in the same resort and only had air con in the bedrooms. The high every day we were there was over 90 degrees F. Even locals said they couldn't remember when it had been so hot. We really appreciated that extra relief in the early evening.

My family and I stayed at villa 40 for 12 days over August and had a great vacation. The villa is private, clean, only a 5 min walk to the beach and nicely appointed w local art. Communication w the owner was excellent. Any question we had was promptly responded to. The proximity to Willemstad and the northern beaches of curaçao is also excellent. The blue bay beach, dive shop and all other amenities in the resort are excellent although some of the information provided is out of date (ie. no fishing boat, sunset cruise catamaran or kayaks are available at this location). Overall, we loved our experience and hope to be back.

The Villa was very open with an amazing, oversized covered patio where we spent most of our mornings and evenings relaxing while enjoying the incredible views! The communication from the owners was very helpful in our planning for not only the villa, but also options on the island. The beach is more than accommodating with controlled access, plenty of chairs and palm trees to provide shade, and access to three restaurants for food and drink. The villa is more than adequately equipped and there are 2-3 grocery stores in close proximity to provide the necessities. Our family has stayed on many of the Caribbean islands and this beach provided the best snorkeling with very healthy coral and tropical fish! Thank you Joe and Michelle for everything! We will be back in the future!!

This villa is close enough to the beach at Blue Bay (< 5 min walk) and situated well that you can drive 30-45 mins north or south to visit all the different beaches. We snorkeled at 5 different beaches, each a little different. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements and storage containers that you can cook for yourselves and have some leftovers for a quick lunch the next day. The deck is wonderful to hang out and relax. Regular sized washer and dryer was a must for us as well with a family of 5. The large, well stocked Carrefour supermarket at the Sambil mall is minutes away. The prep material we received just prior to the trip was very helpful and the manager popped in shortly after our arrival and answered all our remaining little questions about the villa and even about parking in Willemstad etc. Made it all easy and a wondeful trip.

Excellent house
The place was immaculate and definitely exceeded expectations. The owner was very helpful with our flight situations as they were cancelled day of arrival and allowed us to stay extra day. We truly appreciated that! Definitely best customer service we could have gotten and would definitely stay there again.

Day1 we sat on the outside furniture & immediately started getting bitten but never saw a mosquitos. The next day we saw one of the 3-4 cats under the lounge chairs and My husband said the cats were probably laying on the chairs. we looked at the chair cushions & realized ALL the cat hair on the underside of the cushions. We were getting bites from cat fleas not mosquitoes biting us. You could clearly see that the cushions were not stored out the way of the cats and that they live on the furniture and the cleaning people flipped the chairs cushions over to hide the cat hair instead of cleaning and removing the cushions while the property is vacant. Once contacted someone came to vacuum the chairs but nothing was sprayed for fleas. We had to buy spray from the store to. This villas needs professional to be spraying unless you don’t mind scratching bites the entire trip. Next we had ants in every room. Someone came & sprayed but an exterminator is needed because within a few minutes the ants came back.
Also, The master mattress was rock hard and there was only 2 thin pillows in the master room and 1 for each twin bed. We requested additional pillows but they didn’t have any. The villa does not supply wash cloths only large towels and hand towels. We had to request more because we only received 4 for the 6 people. The owner offered a credit if we went and bought our own from the store. The inside sofas can only accommodate 3-4 people. The other people would have to sit on the high bar stools or bring in the outdoor furniture. Finally the property needed a good cleaning/and updating. The floors were dusty, not recently mopped, the counter tops and table top was dusty, we saw cat hair & dust balls in the living room and bedrooms and the bath rooms could use a good scrubbing, toilet seats replace, and there was a sewerage smell that could come up in the bathroom. Also the comforters on the beds had stains and appeared not to have been washed in between guest. There were several door stops which we later found out were used to keep the doors from rattling from the wind outside. We eventually folded up store bag to stuff in the gaps between the door and frame.
Pros: the private beach and close proximity to other beaches and city center, responsiveness of the owner and his willingness to try and resolve any issue. The owner ended up providing a refund of 20 percent.

Beautiful home in perfect location!
The house was beautiful, fully stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable. We watched the flamingos on the water every morning from the deck, a short walk to the beach side outdoor restaurant (delicious!), dive shop, and a great snorkeling beach. The hosts gave us excellent information and suggestions before our arrival so we were well prepared. The resort is beautiful, perfectly situated to explore the island - we spent most days snorkeling on West end beaches, but also had a couple of great East end adventures as well, all drivable within 40 minutes. Hopefully we will rent from Michelle & Joe again soon (or buy a neighboring villa - wow, what a wonderful Island!)

You will need to either rent a car or build in added costs for taxi services. Other than that, we felt safe & secure, all amenities we needed & enjoyed our stay. Went on VRBO and found The Villa Joe and Michelle were able to accommodate us the next day and were super helpful in hooking us up with a rental car and tips on places to eat etc. the Villa was great, well appointed, clean, and in a great spot. Garden like surrounding with tons of birds singing and a view of the golf course and pool. Quick 3 minute walk down to Blue Bays fantastic beach and beachside restaurant and bar. Played a round of golf for only cart fees as a guest of the Villa. If your heading to Curacao go to Blue Bay, and if your going to Blue Bay stay at Joe and Michelle’s Villa I’m sure Joe and Michelle will take excellent care of you too!

We stayed at Joe and Michelle Villa Troupial for 3 weeks. It was fabulous. Blue Bay is a great location with all the amenities. Their villa has a wrap around veranda to relax on in the morning and after a day at the beach. Joe was very accommodating and very prompt in returning messages or addressing any minor issues. They provided a list of beaches, restaurants, and things to do, which was very helpful. We were especially thankful they encouraged us to go to Carneval. It was fabulous. So glad we went. If you want to see the island and what it has to offer you really need a car. Joe and Michelle provided us info on a car rental company which was so easy after a long day of travel.

Wonderful Holiday
We stayed at this property for one week that included New Year’s Eve and had the best time. We were able to watch several sets of fireworks from the amazing wrap around deck where we spent some nice hours relaxing, reading eating meals and petting the friendly cat that came to visit daily.
One note for other travelers: pack bug spray! It is noted in the handy info Joe sent prior to our trip, and I forgot to pack ours. We picked some up at the supermarket nearby on our second day, but in the one day without we were all covered in bites. Totally my fault, so I want to highlight that for other travelers when packing.
My husband, 12 year old son and I loved the property - my son was happy with the WiFi strength (very important at this age). We all agreed to plan a return trip - hopefully the same time next year.
