Nestled in Brushy Fork, this lovely cabin for $236 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Enjoy fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere at Bear Tree Cabin! Cute as a button, it's nestled on the margin of a forest and gets its nickname from an unusual natural formation on a tree in the yard that looks like a bear is hugging it. Four-wheel or All-wheel drive is needed for the driveway if it snows and also recommended in the warmer months to preserve the integrity of the gravel driveway. Our zip code is Sugar Grove, but the cabin is just 3 miles from the historic Mast General Store in Valle Crucis and is situated in a rural farming neighborhood just off of the Watauga River Road. Fishing, canoeing or swimming in the Watauga River is 2 miles away. Bring your mountain bike and enjoy the gentle grade of the Watauga River Road ... or for a little more adventure, let our resident mountain bike expert recommend a nearby trail that fits your abilities ... No central air conditioning at our shady spot in the cool mountains of NC. We do have a free standing air conditioning unit in the downstairs bedroom. Cabin has ceiling fans in each bedroom and in both living areas to help with those occasional hot days in summer. Shopping at the historic Mast General Store is only 3 miles away. Restaurants of all types are in nearby Banner Elk, Boone and Blowing Rock as well as a nearby one in the village of Valle Crucis itself. Hiking trails are available onsite or within a short drive. Zip-lining and snow tubing at Hawksnest is 25 minutes away. Pets not allowed. During the winter months ... Three ski resorts are within a 25 to 40 min. drive. Cross country skiing onsite is available if snow conditions are right. Snow tubing is an option for the non-skier at some ski resorts nearby. At the end of the day, come 'home' to a relaxing hot tub. Four-wheel or All-wheel drive is needed for the driveway if it snows. We also own a Choose & Cut Christmas Tree Farm nearby that is open mid-November through early December. It's called Bear Wallow Choose & Cut farm. During certain times of the year, we require a 2-night stay. With our children getting older & busy with work/school, we have fewer & fewer opportunities to spend time together as a family. Bear Tree Cabin was the perfect place for us to disconnect from the world & reconnect as a family. Angela is a wonderful host & the cabin/hot tub were incredibly well taken care of & clean. We will definitely be back!!

A lovely property tucked in the mountains and close to the Watauga River. 100% as advertised. Two large king bed suites and cool loft area. We enjoyed the big kitchen, fireplace, hot tub, and rocking chairs on the front porch. Perfect getaway. We left very relaxed and grounded. Highly recommend Bear Tree Cabin. We'll be back!

Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Cozy house to wind down in after a day exploring. We spent a lot of time in the Blowing Rock area and house was not too far from our activities. The printable map was a lifesaver! The moment we left the house we had no service and having that on hand was SUPER helpful for getting around until cell service picked up. Next time I will bring a full map of the area (which I already own, but left at home) because sections of the parkway also do not have service.

Very nice property hidden in the woods of the North Carolina Mountains. Clean, comfortable stay and we really enjoyed being in the woods. Phone coverage: One thing some people will need to know is if you have Verizon your phone won't work until you've connected it to the home's wi fi. Once you do that you'll be in great shape. Thanks to Angela for letting us stay in such a nice place.

The house was very well maintained, and had a very simple/easy check-in and checkout process. However, we had a bit of trouble with the driveway even without any snow. We ended up backing up the driveway, since we would get stuck going up normally. Other than that one hiccup, we had a wonderful stay here.

My husband and I visited Bear Tree Cabin in August for our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the best time and would go back again tomorrow if we could. The cabin is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Even though there were just two of us it seemed like there would be plenty of room for larger gatherings. Angela has included lots of little touches to make your stay more pleasant. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor seating. The property is private and quiet. I am so glad we went with this cabin, we couldn't have had a better time!

My husband and I decided to take a last minute getaway to Tweetsie with our little girl. We found Bear Creek Cabin and it was the perfect place to stay! This was an above extraordinary beautiful cabin. Everything that I could have needed or did need, was there. We was welcomed with warm welcomes. It was a home away from home. Anyone that has had any doubts of booking this lovely cabin, should not worry about anything. It was an amazingly treasure nestled into the mountains with easy access from both sides getting into and out. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your place.

We had a wonderful stay at Bear Tree Cabin. It was clean and in a good location in Valle Crucis. The host for Bear Tree Cabin was great! We could tell she was thoughtful in her instructions and how items in the cabin were labeled/explained, and she was very responsive. our past couple of stays in the areas we have rented through a rental company in the area, and our stay here a lot better service!

We Really enjoyed our stay at BearTree Cabin. The property was just as described. The location was great, near everything, but felt like we were secluded on our on. The cabin was beautiful. Angela was a great host and worked with us when we had a conflict with our scheduled stay. The only disappointment was having to leave so soon.

We love going to Beartree Cabin. It's so quiet, peaceful, and private, but we can go to Boone or Sugar Mountain really easily. Mostly, we just enjoy the peace and quiet! The cabin has everything you need, and Angela is easy to communicate with.

My wife really enjoyed our weekend getaway here. It was scenic with lots of outdoors things to do but close to a few cities that offered some great attractions as well. The cabin was clean and was larger than I expected especially for the price. We were very pleased with everything but having to leave!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Tree Cabin. A great location, quiet and secluded but not far from town. Very well stocked with everything you might need. We also really appreciated that anything you might have a question about how to operate actually had a label with instructions. What a great idea! Highly recommend.
