Located in Woodbury, this lovely house for $304 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Colby Lake Place is located in Woodbury, five miles east of Saint Paul, Minnesota, in an upscale Suburb. The four-bedroom, three-bath home has a private yard on Colby Lake. The walking/bike trail around the lake is just out the back door. Within a 15-mile radius, you will find the Mall of America, Saint Croix River Valley, Minnesota Twins baseball, Minnesota Vikings football, Minnesota Wild hockey, ten golf courses, three regional parks, Afton State Park, Afton Downhill Ski Park, 15 lakes, Ordway Theater, and countless shops and restaurants. The following Minnesota cities are within 10 miles: Minneapolis, Stillwater, Oakdale, Maplewood, North Saint Paul, Eden Prairie, South Saint Paul, Eagan, Burnsville, Hastings, Cottage Grove, Burnsville, Woodbury, Roseville, and White Bear Lake. Hudson, Wisconsin, is only ten miles east. Locked two-bedroom Guest Suite and one-car garage: The two-bedroom Guest Suite is in a separate area on the lower level of the Property, and the attached garage – has a separate main entrance – with no cross traffic. These areas are NOT included in the Agreement. The owner retains the right to access and use the Guest (two-bedroom) Suite and attached garage area during this Rental Period. Do not block garage door access to the 3rd – single garage door – as the owners may access these areas of the home 24/7/365. Owner Suite Guests have exclusive use of the four-bedroom upper-level floor of the Property. Garage: The use of the attached garage is NOT included in the rental agreement without written permission from the Rental Agent.

Convenient location for us, but we were surprised that the lower level of the house was also rented out. Despite the cleaning fee, we were asked to vacuum and wipe down all counter surfaces before we left. We were also asked to remove our shoes. The house had all of the equipment we needed and the family room worked out very well. Property manager was very helpful.

Clean. Convenient location for us. The host responded when we told him the dishwasher did not work. It was working when we got back. Probably should check stuff like hairdryers and light bulbs on a regular basis rather than telling guests they can replace them. Before we left, we did the kind of cleaning that Air B-n-B hosts do after a visit. Probably the last time we use VRBO.

This home was the perfect fit for our family of 8! The kitchen/dining space was perfect, lots of room to enjoy a great meal and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare it! The number of bedrooms and bathrooms was a plus for our large family. The location was awesome with direct access to the biking/walking trail and having access to the community pool/tennis court was a bonus. Drive time was minimal for lots of activities in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area. We would definitely recommend and stay here again if we are in the area. William was quick to respond to any of our questions or needs.

Great property!
Our family stayed here for our daughter's wedding in nearby St. Paul. It was a great choice. The property was as advertised and handled the ten of us easily, with lots of room to spread out, though we spent most of our time at the house hanging out in the kitchen/dining area, which made for great conversation. The house was very clean. The gas stove didn't work when we arrived, but the owner responded quickly (the gas just hadn't been turned back on after a recent repair) and it was fixed before the day was out. The walk around the lake was one of the best parts -- the walkway is literally right out the back door, and the lake and walk are gorgeous -- we're only sorry we didn't have time for more walks. There are a number of specific rules, which made us a bit nervous at first, but if you can live with them, this is a great choice.

Exceeded Expectations!
Once again, renting a home through Bill exceeded our expectations! Colby Lake Place was the perfect home for my family and my sister’s family to share over Christmas! This home is so spacious and laid out perfectly for all eight of us, that we never felt crowded or in each other's way! We particularly enjoyed the large, well-appointed kitchen and dining room with beautiful lake views! The two living rooms - one upstairs and one downstairs allowed us to come together to play goofy games or just sit around to talk and catch up with each other!!
The home is in such a beautiful area! We loved looking out at the lake!! In fact, we took advantage of the trail outside the home, and walked the lake most mornings! The added bonus is that the home is close to many family and friends!
Having rented another property from Bill for the past few years, we find he is super easy to work with, and very responsive to our questions or concerns!
We will be booking Colby Lake Place again for Christmas 2017!

HS reunion gathering
We are a group of women who have gather together every couple of years. The owner was difficult to work with: when some of the group cancelled out, I emailed to ask about the cancellation policy. The owner cancelled us without any discussion. We didn't want to lose out deposit so I asked if we could still rent the house and he reinstated our reservation.
The week of our rental, I asked if there could be any adjustment on our rate, since we had had more cancellations and were now down to half our number. I was told "No"
The house smelled musty when we arrived, and the tile in the 2 upstairs bathrooms was moldy.
Living room is small. Everything else was ok with the house, but I would not want to deal with the owner again, and would not stay there again

Colby Lake -- good location; house needs updating
In town for daughter's wedding and needed a large home for immediate family to stay. Colby Lake home was as advertised with 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Good space for family to gather in the kitchen/dining area. Location on Colby Lake was really great. The house was clean on the surface; however, we felt it was not well kept. The house smelled terribly stale like it had been closed up for months. Even after we had windows open for 6 days, really bad smell. Lighting throughout the house was not good. In many places, lights didn't work at all (including outdoor lights), and where they did...very dim and dark. I would encourage anyone considering this house to ask to review the contract before you commit and pay the deposit. The contract is very restrictive and there are an inordinate amount of rules. While I understand the need to care for the house in this residential neighborhood, honestly, we felt we were being asked to leave the house in better condition than we found it. We didn't see the contract until after we committed, and by then we would have forfeited the deposit. Read the rules and contract carefully. We've rented many homes and have never experienced anything quite like this. Also, I recommend paying by check as they charge an exorbitant fee to process a credit card...in all fairness this was included in the contract so again...focus on reading all the fine print. I would say if you need a large home in a neighborhood environment and completely understand all the rules and expectations, this home could be for you.

Wonderful stay in this spacious home
Our family rented Colby Lake Place for six nights. On the weekends we had 13 people in the house and did not feel at all cramped. We had gathered from many states to attend my son's wedding. The house was exactly as described. It was clean, roomy, nicely furnished, well stocked with essential kitchen items, and in a lovely neighborhood. We found we were no more than 30 minutes from anything we wanted to go to. Our family made daily use of the paved trail around the lake that was just steps out the back door. We enjoyed lots of gatherings in the kitchen which was spacious enough for us all to be together. The deck was used to relax on - except when the mosquitos came out. The only semi-issue we had was that the downstairs was much colder than the upstairs. We managed to work it out - and found space heaters in the closets to take the chill off before bedtime. All in all it was a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Thank you Bill for allowing us to stay in one of your homes!

Nice gathering place for the family
This was suburban nice. Our favorite thing was taking walks around the lake (approximately 3 miles around) daily! The trail is outside the back door, and you go from the suburban to the urban feel right away. Perhaps that's Minnesota?! The house was fairly clean; the kitchen stocked well for our multi-family gatherings; the kitchen-dining area large. We were outside or at events, so didn't spend time in the downstairs TV room. We did laugh at the small size of the upstairs "living room", 2 couches facing each other. We had PLENTY of options for people to spread out and have their own space, which is nice for 10 people. The owner is nice, a man of few words, which made me nervous because i'm only used to chatty "Minnesota-nice" folks. But when we talked on the phone, he answered our questions which helped. There are a LOT of rules, which made me nervous, but respectfully, it is in a nice neighborhood. We found ourselves driving approx 30-45 min to the University, airport and other events, so centrally placed. Short drive to good stores, which is helpful for traveling. I would recommend it.

Great Experience
We hosted a company retreat for 14 of us and found this property suitable for lounging & cooking majority of our meals together. We spent most time in the spacious kitchen playing card games & mixing drinks. As hosts, my husband and I stayed in the upstairs bdrm w/ bathroom and our guests shared the other two bathrooms. We found extra TP in the linen closet, blankets and extra pillows. We had two training for 5K's who enjoyed the lake trail (right next to the residence).

Girl's get-away
We had a wonderful time at your beautiful house on our girls get-a-way. The place was extremely clean and well kept. We found all the cooking utensils we needed in order to satisfy and serve 10 women!! The rest of the house had plenty of room for relaxing and privacy if necessary. The walking trail was a safe and pleasant addition to our weekend.
We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to accommodate our large group on short notice. We will be back, you can count on it.

Perfect for Family Reunion
14 of us, 8 adults and 6 children, traveled from Philadelphia area to attend family reunions in Eagan and Lake Elmo. The house may be deceiving from the outside. With the finished basement with 3 bedrooms, the children were able to have their own area to play games and watch DVDs while the adults were able to relax and enjoy each other's company late into the night. While we were concerned with the owner's request to limit the number of people visiting the community pool at one time, we found Lake Elmo's Reserve with swim pond and play area a better choice any way. We were able to visit Mall of America, Valley Fair and Target Field for Twins game and all were within reasonable driving distance. There was plenty of grocery stores, department stores, coffee houses and places to eat within just a few miles from the house. Cravings Wine Bar and Grille were able to accomodate all 14 of us as well as a couple of family members on short notice. They had a great wine list as well food menus to appeal both adults and children. The kitchen was well equipped and since there is a grill off the deck, the men actually cooked most of the meals. The house was clean and the owner checked in to make sure all was as expected. This was definitely a better choice than staying at a local hotel both from an expense and convenience perspective.

Thanksgiving Retreat for Ten was perfect
We spent five nights in the Wedgewood Manor over Thanksgiving 2010 and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for the ten of us - 6 adults and four children. We loved the walking path, even tho it was a bit cold. The setting was like a retreat, overlooking a wooded yard and beautiful lake. The beds were comfortable and we had a great time making meals in the kitchen, watching movies, playing in the snow and finding time to be together. We are from three different states and have tried staying in the same hotel and there is NO comparison. This was a wonderful solution for all of us. We highly recommend it.

A Perfect Solution for Our Trip
This property was wonderful and accommodated our group of eight women beautifully. The house was very clean, the kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed to bake and cook our own meals while we were there, and the walking/running path around the lake was perfect for a little exercise early in the morning. We had people coming in from different states and wanted to have a home rather than a hotel to stay in so we would have room to sit and talk - and laugh as loud as we wanted into the evening hours. We would definitely stay at Wedgewood Manor again!

Recommendation
We had our family vacation at this rental property - everyone had their own bed, it was very quiet, house was very clean, and businesses, restaurants were close by. The kids really enjoyed the bike trail accessable from the back yard. I would highly recommend this rental property.

Perfect for relaxing reunion - Better than hotel!!
We rented this home for a reunion with another family that we hadn't seen for almost a year. With six bedrooms and several different living rooms, we had plenty of room to accomodate everyone. The descriptions in the listing are accurate and the property is well maintained. The owner provides good customer service. We would definitely use this property again. The trails around the lake are a wonderful bonus and the kids, of course, loved having a pool available for their use! Woodbury is a lovely community and you can get most anything you need not going very far at all from the house. The home is in a residential area with close neighbors on either side. It is a very comfortable home, yet you are close enough to many attractions that you feel you have the best of both worlds. We appreciated the kitchen and the gas grill, as we cooked all of our meals, except for the day we went to the Como Zoo and ate lunch there. The Como Zoo is a nice, but small zoo. The amusement park was a nice addition and was a big hit with the kids after walking looking at the animals. All in all, we were very pleased with our first experience with a vacation rental. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of linens and blankets, and the shower pressure was great, too. This was much better than a hotel for about the same money per night for our two families.
