Sleeps 10 A spectacular country house nestling in the heart of Strathtyrum Estate, home to the popular Balgove Larder farmshop and restaurant and a short distance from St Andrews. The Factor's House has undergone complete refurbishment and is now available for letting It is a five bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a gorgeous drawing room and a fabulous open plan country house kitchen/diner (complete with 4 oven Everhot Range) and set within extensive garden grounds. The Factor's House affords an opportunity to sample true country living whilst being a stones throw from all that historic St Andrews has to offer. The Factor's House was originally built in the mid-19th century and many original features have been retained while the property has been brought fully up to date. This is a house not to be missed, whether for that special family gathering, as a base for the golfing holiday of a lifetime or simply as a wonderful holiday home.

We loved our stay at the Factor House in St Andrews. The house was on an amazing farm. Very quick drive to town or a nice walk.
The hosts were wonderful and communicative.
I highly recommend!!

A lovely house with large rooms. The house was always warm and the kitchen was the heart of the place. Good facilities in general. The lounge furniture could do with updating, we all found the settees uncomfortable. There was lots of wildlife however, very large spiders and lots of flies. The track up to the house was bumpy and full of potholes. It’s remote location made the place beautiful and quiet, nothing to disturb you at night. It is close to St Andrews, just 6 mins drive or a pleasant walk. Overall it was excellent with some room for improvement.

I highly recommend the Factor's House when traveling with family and friends. We had 10 (5 couples) in our group. The home and property are beautiful, spacious, and clean and only minutes from the Old Course, St. Andrews and other nearby towns and villages. When we arrived we were welcomed with fresh meats and eggs from the nearby (and equally awesome) Balgove Larder. Checking in and out instructions were simple and clear.

We were thrilled with our stay! We wanted to share this experience with our family! The house was spacious and updated and we sincerely enjoyed our time together!

Lovely property with plenty of space for a large family celebration.
Apart from a kitchen sink broken by previous occupant all facilities worked well.
But I think the state of the road leading to the property needs updating. Very potholed causing a few back problems.
Also as the majority of our party were older taking the rubbish to the gate was not possible without wheelie bins.

We all absolutely loved our stay from start to finish. Seemless booking/check in. The welcome package was an absolute treat for the Balgove Larder. Such a joy to watch the pheasants and deer in the garden. We will certainly be back. Thank you so much for everything - Faultless 10/10

It was great staying in your house. It is perfect for two families, we loved the fireplace and we made use of the well equipped kitchen. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family in the Netherlands. Thanks for the stay!

Lovely country house located near St Andrews
We spent a fantastic Christmas at this beautiful country house. It is well decorated, a cosy sitting room with a fireplace, spacious, well-equipped kitchen, nice touches including bread, milk and lovely treats from the nearby farm shop. Fife Cottage and the housekeeper both provided quick communication. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Great Stay
A lovely location and property for a family break. We stayed with children and grandparents and we all enjoyed the lovely gardens and accommodation. The house is really well equipped and great for groups getting together.

The Factor's House is a perfect location for those traveling to St Andrews. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed; the living area is cozy and inviting ;and the heat works!! I would recommend this property to anyone coming, either as a family or a group of friends. Every step of the process was easy and the property manager was available within minutes for the answer to any question.
