About this house rental
Branch lake is known as one of the top rated lakes in Maine for its water purity and very unique sparse population as its the watershed for Ellsworth. Less than half the lakeshore is developed, especially the Southern end, making one feel wonderfully cutoff from civilization! Mainguy's is one of the nicest or best camps on Branch Lake for its location and amenities just off Route 1, center lake location, deep water frontage with a dive tower, small beach, lakeside fireplace and exceptional knotty pine interior with top of the line appliances, new beds, bar, stereo system, Wifi & 3 large LED TV's. The year round house/camp was totally gutted from top to bottom and remodeled IN 2015 and is just 40 feet from the waters edge. Ideally designed for families or 2 couples as there are 2 separate indoor entertainment areas. There is 1 ground floor bedroom with a queen, 2 bedrooms with full beds, 1 master king bedroom on the 3rd level which has a 1/2 bathroom, and a bunk bedroom along with a loft hosting a very plush full futon bed. The kitchen is completely remodeled with state of the art appliances, dual oven, 36 inch fridge with ice maker , dual gas stove and dishwasher along with a convection microwave oven. Hardwood flooring is laid throughout the 1st floor including the kitchen along with new wrap around quartz countertops. The house has all new linen and towels you will need along with all kitchen utensils and dishes. The ground floor has industrial carpeting as the sliding glass door exit finds you right near the sand beach and can handle the sandy traffic in and out. The hammock right near the dock is often fought over during the day or evening as a perch to watch the fire in the lakeside fireplace. Sunsets from the deck are magic! A very scenic 30 minute drive takes you into the famed Acadia National Park or towards Bucksport to start a must do memorable drive along the coastline down to Camden with all the roadside charm and antique shopping. We had a great stay at this house. It was clean and had everything we needed for a week at the lake. The house was well stocked with essentials and cook wear. Our family had a great time at the lake kayaking and paddle boarding. Only a 45 min drive to Acadia made it easy to hike in the morning and get to the lake by the afternoon. The owners were great with communication and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Perfect vacation spot for our family! The house is clean, spacious, and well-stocked with linens, towels, and kitchen necessities as well as games and lake "toys" (canoe, kayaks, paddle board). The lake is pristine and perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. The dock with its diving/jumping platform is fantastic fun. Three generations had a great week!

We had a wonderful time on Branch lake!! The dive platform was huge hit regardless of the weather. I was in awe of the huge lake rocks and how clear the water was. We saw a bald eagle twice and so many fish. The house was a great fit for our large party. The beds were quite comfortable and the showers were exceptional! Can’t wait for next year.

Best lake house stay! Beautiful location on rarely traveled road. We do these family lake stays with 10 family members every summer and this was the best one yet. Enough water toys for everyone - paddle board, kayaks, canoe, dock and diving platform, beach with kids toys. Such a beautiful location on such a clean lake. Such great evenings around the fire and family meals on big picnic table on the deck. Can’t wait till next year!

The property was very well stocked, clean, and accurately described in the advertisement. Management and communication was prompt and professional. I would return to this property in the future without hesitation. Excellent all around! The lake, boating equipment, and dock are terrific.

Was looking for a lakefront summer vaca with swimming and boat access and close proximity to Acadia. This fit the bill and more. Enough room for adults, teens, and youngers to have space and also two gathering areas. Outdoor space was perfect with walk in swimming area, seating, and of course the high dive. Owner and property manager responsive. Can't recommend this property enough.

We had a great time playing in the water as well as easy access down to Acadia for hiking, running carriage trails, etc. The lake is super clean - it has a small area for little kids and a great platform for our teenagers to jump. The house was well appointed including having everything you need for a lobster dinner for 13 people. The Property Manager was very responsive. A great week overall!

beautiful lakeside property. only downside was lots of stairs for us 'older types'. But we managed just fine ! Convenient for visits to nearby Acadia SP and other locations in the East of Maine.

My family and our friends absolutely loved this property! The home was beautiful and we could not of asked for a better location. We thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks, canoe, paddle board and jumping off the diving platform. We could have enjoyed our vacation without ever leaving the house. But being so close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park we definitely had to explore. We will definitely be returning!

Very nice house with a cabin feel. The house was very clean, with all the amenities that we needed. Absolutely stunning views, especially the sunsets! We had a great time in a great location. Out of the way enough to not be crowded, close enough to necessities to get there in a short time. The only problem was that the property was so nice that we didn't want to go to Bar Harbor and other attractions as much as I would have liked.

We had a great week up at this lake house. The house is in great condition and has a fantastic waterfront with plenty of toys to use. The lake is very clean and quiet with amazing sunsets.

We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay at the lake house! We had several members of our family staying, including a senior citizen, middle-aged adults, a college student, a high school student and an elementary student, and each one of us had our own space. We also all had activities that we enjoyed, including jumping off the high dive platform, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and hiking. The lake is so close and clear that from inside the house it looks like you can just jump right into it from the deck.
The house had all the amenities we needed. We loved having a washer and dryer we could use, and we cooked several times using the pots and pans. We also used the grill several times and made s’mores in the fire pit. Only downfall there is that the outdoor fire chimney is mighty close to the bushes separating the yard from the neighbor’s, and it made us a little nervous.
The main bathroom is beautiful, and everyone enjoyed the rainfall shower, but it did soak the floor quite a bit, necessitating the use of quite a few towels to soak it all up.
We spent several days just resting at the lake house, but we also explored Acadia twice, Bar Harbor, and had a wonderful dinner in Ellsworth.
All in all, this was an amazing experience, and the lake house was one of our favorite rentals ever!

Spectacular Stay
Glorious family vacation. House was a perfect set up for a multigenerational family ages 1 to 62 and 2 dogs. It was turn key. Didn’t need a thing.
Water front also had every amenity. We enjoyed each one of them! The listing includes a recommendation for boat rentals. We rented a pontoon boat for the week. Super easy to do and the boat rental owner was also awesome.

Branch Lake Fans
The property was very clean and had all the amenities needed to relax and enjoy the lake house. The property managers are very accommodating and responsive to guest's needs. The location of the property provides easy access to Acadia National Park and the beautiful town of Ellsworth. The lake property has canoes, kayaks and paddle boards needed to explore the lake and the dock with its high dive perch provides endless fun. Peter and Jessica are wonderful to work with and eager to make sure everyone has a wonderful time. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful stay
My family and I had a wonderful stay. The owner and property manager are great. Thanks to Jessica for checking in just ahead of our trip with additional property and area information. The house itself is in a perfect location. We were able to get to all areas of Acadia with a short drive. We had a three year old, a one year old, a 10 year old, and a dog with us. We were able to keep the little ones and dog contained to the downstairs area when needed (the kids tend to wake up a tad on the early side), which we could close off with a few doors. They basically had their own space with a bedroom, living area, laundry and a bathroom all right there. A sliding glass door provided easy lake/beach access as well. There were even two baby/pet gates provided - that made life easier. The kitchen was well equipped with all you would need. We did a lot of cooking together. There is ample seating for all indoors and out. There are many windows and doors to open to fresh air, and excellent lake views from almost every room. One of our party slept in the upstairs nook with a very comfortable futon and enjoyed the sunrise and view every morning. Bedding throughout was very comfortable. If you have kids, you will appreciate the little beach area. Having a shallow space to splash around with no worries is perfect. The outdoor fireplace was nice for sitting around and toasting marshmallows. I recommend sitting out on the dock and enjoying the view of the stars over the lake if you have a clear night. You couldn't ask for a better place.

Amazing Trip
We had an amazing time. The house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks. The Eagle that visited was just amazing to see. I would 100% recommend this house and location. The owners were so nice to deal with and answered any questions we had.

One of the best vacation rentals we have stayed at
This house is amazing! My husband and I have stayed at multiple vacation rentals, and this is one of the best. For this trip, we had 3 generations of family staying in the home and there was plenty of room to spread out or gather for family meals and games/activities. We enjoyed our meals on the long picnic tables on the deck during sunset (even in chilly weather) and coffee or tea on the adirondack chairs during the day while we watched the kids play.
Our favorite times were doing family paddles on the calm lake and seeing the remaining loons, the bald eagle on the island, and the beautiful fall colors. Some of us even saw the lake otter scamper across the beach below. The kids absolutely loved playing in the water on the beach as well. All of them learned to paddle by themselves (from ages 9 down to 4) and were so proud of themselves!
We explored Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, which are very nice. However, there were too many people this year and we were so happy to get back to our peaceful place at the lake house.
The house was super clean when we arrived and contained everything we could possibly want. The showers and bath are heavenly.

We equally loved lounging in the comfortable living rooms and their flat screen TVs. We had more than one cozy movie night. We were even lucky enough to be visited multiple times by an otter on the beach that we named Otto — if you spot him/her, tell them we say ‘hey’. We made full use of the kayaks to explore the lake, all sat around the fire pit while the kids roasted marshmallows at night and explored in all directions from Acadia to Camden and beyond from our base camp. Three generations, 6 adults & 3 kids were very comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out. Very well equipped kitchen, grill, 3 TVs and laundry room made it convenient and comfy when coming home hungry and in need of a hot scrub up at the end of a day out. Relaxing and quiet at night hearing the sound of loons with the windows open to get the cool breeze from the water. The stairs are rather steep, but that’s the only thing that we’d change. Overall the location, amenities and comfort were fantastic. Great family trip, great house and great host.

Mainguy home on Branch Lake
This was a beautiful property, they had your basic paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, provided laundry detergent and dryer sheets as well. We would definitely return to this property. Peter and Heather were wonderful and always answered my emails quickly and efficiently.

This was our second vacation at Branch Lake and we were wrong to think it could never be as fantastic as our first time. We just experienced another fabulous family vacation. This is the best place ever to create wonderful family memories. Everything was perfect.
