Fantastic service and value for money

Excellent service from staff and so friendly - rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast and Cattle Baron food very good. Strongly recommend

Our stay was great apart from a bad meal at Cattle Baron on Friday evening

Breakfast was good, location good as well

Our meal at the Cattle Baron on Friday evening was terrible. We both had prawns (expensive) that were obviously frozen and soft. The peri peri sauce was also pretty poor. In all a terrible meal. We didn't return to the restaurant and found better food elsewhere. There is also not much choice on the menu for a vegetarian which was why we ordered the prawns. I know that Cattle Baron is a predominantly red meat restaurant but when the resort offers it as the only place to eat, they should be able to produce a decent option for vegetarians and at least not screw up an expensive plate of prawns

Location was superb.

Loved the property. Was really disappointed with the breakfast. Arrived at 10hoo. Staff seemed tired and moody. Couldn’t get a decent cup of coffee and the food was really oily.

Shelley Point Hotel and Spa

The location is great with direct access to the Ocean. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile and very friendly. The Spa was amazing too and we loved being able to watch a movie at the in-house Cinema.

We had no complaints as our stay was amazing.

Enjoyable but not exceptional.

The breakfast was excellent, with many choices.

Recreational facilities could be made available freely for Senior Citizens, as booking fees were already high.

It was okay, breakfast could have been better, a voucher, refund or discount would have been nice.

Breakfast was good, although pastries, cheeses and some of the warm dishes were not refilled after they have been consumed by previous guests. Basically if you came after 9 or 9:30 for breakfast, you got whatever was leftover.

Due to a burst pipe, we had no water from Sunday morning at about 7am till we checked out on Monday morning at 11:00. No alternative was given as to where you could wash, when we asked for water to wash our face and brush our teeth, we were given 1 litre for 4 people. It would have been nice to receive a 1 nights voucher or a discount or refund off or something as this was a great inconvenience.

Utter Disappointment and Unacceptable Inconvenience at Shelley Point Hotel

Dear Petrus Munro, I hope this email finds you well, although I must admit that our experience at Shelley Point Hotel has left us far from feeling well-disposed towards your establishment. I am writing to express my deep disappointment of our stay at your establishment. What was supposed to have been memorable and blissful weekend away, celebrating our first year wedding anniversary, has turned out to be anything but what we anticipated. We chose your establishment over and above other places, and this was at my strong recommendation and promise to my spouse that she would have an absolutely awesome and fantastic experience. I made every effort to ensure that planning on my end included securing certain activities we would have loved to enjoy, from pre-arrangements to a particular set up of our luxury suite, dinner reservations, our first couples spa session etc. We could not enjoy any of these, as your establishments water supply has been unavailable since we woke up this morning with a full day planned. As I’m writing email, we’ve not had an opportunity to refresh, take a shower etc., and contemplating cutting our stay short and leave for home. The lack of attention to detail continued throughout our stay, leaking and slippery hallways, cleanliness of the rooms , which was subpar, and a general lack of maintenance. While your housekeeping Executive, Mrs Marilise Wolmerans, was superb in her handling of the flurry of complaints from guests whole day, the housekeeping staff seemed to have no interest in ensuring that guests' needs were met or that the rooms were up to acceptable standards. It is appalling that I had to request basic amenities such as fresh towels, and for the bed to be remade. Moreover, the dining experience at Shelley Point Hotel was nothing short of a disaster. The restaurant staff exhibited a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.

The male staff are so professional and friendly. Nosi, Felicia and Sibu you guys are rockstars.

Breakfast was okay. The chef was the star of our trip. Nosi took Good care of my family

We asked for a better view, they literally threw us in the dumpster .all we could see was big green duster bin . That was so crass of them to do that. Disappointed .

Despite the what we "didn't like" we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was great with wonderful views.

As we were travelling as a family and we had a 4 sleeper unit it would make sense that there is 2 bathrooms but there was only 1. Having the extra bathroom would have been great. The gym equipment is also a bit dated and not everything is working. Time to replace some equipment if you advertise your establishment as having one.

We had a wonderful time and would make another trip in the future.

The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious. We enjoyed the clean, neat rooms, lounging area and safe outdoor options. Beautiful beaches. Friendly staff.

I would have liked more dinner options but understand the restrictions. The teens entertainment was a also a little thin after a certain time.

It’s amazing place both location and the facility, it’s very visible how much money were invested there to get it to this level. Unfortunately it’s useless cause poor day to day management - dirty tables in the bar / restaurant, dirty floor / carpets and very unprofessional staff there !

Loved the location and facility

The hotel was obviously under staffed for the guest volume. Tired and over worked was the comment from The staff and the cleanliness of the facility suffered as a result. Poor food from the restaurant due to hopelessly under staffed kitchens too. As the price paid was premium peak season pricing - dissapointing that we struggled to find a table as clearing took such a long time and many tables were left dirty. Guests had no where to sit or sat at tables with previous guests left over meals all over the hotel. Rooms were not cleaned till very late afternoons or not at all. Unsatisfactory and won't stay there again. There are many places at same and cheaper prices that offer a better experience

A missed opportunity to be a great hotel! Train the staff and put the guests first.

The food, rooms, pool, location were all excellent.

This hotel has so much potential but it is let down by little things - no service at the pool, only six sun-loungers, just two umbrellas, no towels at pool, one day no one put out any cushions at the pool, staff that say no to simple requests and then when asked a second time, yes. (so it is possible)! no salt with chips. no tabasco with oysters, one night bar closed because no barman, and on and on. Also lots of locked gates and closed stackaway doors. spoils the flow, makes it a mission to get around. if this hotel wants to get to five stars, as it has said, putting guests first will be the key. (no keeping things easy for staff).

I will make use of cattle barron instead of Dorothea's.... Reception excellent host

We had loadshedding breakfast, not the best service and food, bread table was not fresh at all

Dorothea's restaurant, pathetic service, waiters confused and very slow... Food was pathetic....
