Peaceful location close to St Cinq Lapopie

Horrible experience, think twice.

The surrounding area was nice, the houses and the villages.

Upon arrival the host didn't greet us, they had left the keys inside. When we entered the property, we were met with ants crawling over dead insects, more than 30 flies flying around and an overal smell that could only be described as the smell of a room that hasn't had any fresh air going through it for quite some time. When I inspected the pool it was filled with bugs, not only floating on the top of the water but also down at the bottom of the pool. To me and my partner it looked like the apartment wasn't cleaned or well maintained in all honesty. Next to the fireplace, there was a basket that housed a nest of bugs which we had to throw outside. The vegetation around the pool was not properly maintained and houses a lot of bugs and insects. The big tree out front of the house seemed to be the main source of the bug problem, as we noticed insects coming and going from that tree continiously. When I cleaned the pool myself and we were going for a swim, we were met by another problem. Horse flies. The horse fly kept hunting us down and flying around us when we were in the pool so we were forced to exit the pool. It would also come after us outside of the pool so we had to go back inside. Laying on the sunbed was also no option. The host told me the kitchen came equipped, however there were no glasses and no plates. This combined with all of the above left me with a HORRIBLE experience. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a romantic get away, but it turned into a disaster. And we decided to leave early. We asked the host for a partial compensation, the host initially agreed but when we got home they decided to say that they didn't know about any of that and couldn't help us any further. I'm honestly baffled by the positive reviews left here by some other guests, but this was a horrendous experience and seeing the owners are not trustworthy whatsoever I would like to warn you and for you to think twice about booking your stay here.
