Far North Queensland is a destination within itself, and Palm Cove is the perfect outpost to base yourself to explore all that it has to offer. An easy 25-minute drive from Cairns City, Palm Cove is one of the most loved resort beach towns, it's bounded by the lush tropics of Macalister Range National Park, and its palm-fringed esplanade and patrolled swimming beach graces many a postcard. Combine this with boutique shopping and world-class dining, and you have one destination you will be in no rush to leave. The best places to explore from Palm Cove: One of Australia's biggest drawcards, the Great Barrier Reef traverses a whopping 2,300 kilometres and can be seen from outer space. The colourful marine life and reef system can be explored either by boat or up in the air, but our advice is to gear up and dive in with one of the many operators in and around Palm Cove. Quicksilver Group offer a variety of tours that will take you snorkelling, diving or for a cruise amongst the islands. There is no better way to explore this region than by water. Join a tour or go-it-alone, it is a water wonderland that is just begging to be explored. There is a tonne of options to choose from, but local operators, Palm Cove Water Sports, have several tours to pick from, such as their kayaking and turtle tours, sunrise tour, and kayaking and snorkel tours. You can also hire a kayak (singles or doubles) or paddleboards. Two-hours north of Palm Cove is the Daintree Rainforest, and it makes for an incredible day-trip. There is so much to do, from Saltwater Crocodiles spotting along Daintree River to hiking the tropical lowland rainforest. Daintree also has Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in abundance and Cape Tribulation is where the rainforest meets the reef. A picture-perfect sight that you will never want to pull yourself away from. Jump on a tour and soak up natures finest.

We stayed here over Christmas and New Year’s absolutely perfect for a big group. The only request would be a bigger lounge in the living area or some outdoor lounges overlooking the pool as this is where we spent all of our time as families gathering but all in all we had an amazing time here.

The property was at a convenient location to everything in Palm Cove and accommodated the 10 people who stayed in the house nicely. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property was not satisfactory, hence our rating. The kitchen splashback was greasy. The surrounding areas of the spa bath in the master bedroom was cob webby. The tiles in the pool needs some TLC. We had to fill the pool with water as the water level was low and the skimmer box was making a gluggy noise. The main gate got stuck which was attended to immediately upon our reporting of it. It would've been a nice touch to provide more essentials like toilet paper, shampoo, shower gel as we had to buy these, especially for a group of 10 people. One couch in the lounge for a group of ten was not ideal. We appreciated the condiments that were provided. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

Overall very nice house. It was well provisioned with bath and beach towels pluse lots of cooking gear in the kitchen. Our only issues were the thin walls throughout which created noise issues. Even if talking quietly in kitchen you could be heard in the bedrooms. Same with using bathrooms and toilet. The lack of glass (only wooden louvers) in the front bedroom was a concern for O/S visitors

Tropical Essence comfortably the 11 of us who stayed. Everything we needed to enjoy our stay was available. As with other reviews, seating was tricky for the number of people in the one space however we made it work for us. The pool us fantastic and was well used by the kids. I would definitely recommend this property

great house for a family holiday. Short walk to beach and cafes. Plenty of room for kids to play. Well stocked kitchen. More sofa seating recommended as a 3 seater couch for a family of 10 was not enough. Overall we loved our stay.

Our family enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the indoor and outdoor dining options. It was very well located and a short walk into the township. One piece of feedback is that we would have appreciated more comfortable seating in the lounge area as our big group could not all be accommodated.
