Bagnoli is a great place to stay - a quietish suburban neighbourhood with an abundance of local facilities (best local supermarket Deco with an awesome range, inc amazing cheeses, good wines and charcuterie), best bar Mosto, and a great pizza place (Antica Pizzeria da Gennaro) a couple of hundred metres away. Also, for foodies, some 25 mins walk is amazing fusionesque restaurant Confini where we had the most amazing meal for around 100€.
The apartment itself was fab, with all mod cons, and owner Gaetano could not have been friendlier or more attentive.
Amazing value too compared to Naples proper.
The downside is that the Neapolitan transport system is severely disjointed, with 3 quite independent rail systems; so to get into town you take the overland train to Montessanto - 6 stops, 20 minutes and 1.5€ a head - and can then walk anywhere in the centre within a very short time; for, although there's a metro a short walk from the apartment, it's either on strike or being repaired.
It took us a while to get to grips with this!

It was a great location near restaurants, supermarkets and stations. Huge terrace so you could almost whole day stay under the sun or in the shade.
The smell of sewage was very off putting especially in the morning. The bed was very uncomfortable since it had sagged in the middle.

Mi è piaciuto tutto. La casa andava benissimo ed era vicina sia alla metropolitana (linea 2), sia alla Cumana. Con entrambe, in circa un quarto d'ora, si è al centro di Napoli. Il proprietario è molto gentile.
Metterei le zanzariere.
