Nine Steps is an architect designed home and a unique luxury interpretation of the traditional Australian shed. With stunning views of Mount Buffalo and set on 29 acres of beautiful native bushland, this is your opportunity to enjoy a rural retreat in comfort and style. • Only a 10 min drive to Bright, Nine Steps is perfect for families, friends and couples. • Home to wombats, wallabies and deer that you may see during your visit. • Closest accommodation to spectacular Mount Buffalo for hikes, cycling, snow adventures and more. You can gaze out at native bushland from every window and enjoy watching the ever changing face of Mount Buffalo. You may even have the pleasure of seeing Eurobin Falls from the house. Eurobin Creek runs along our property and we'll share with you the directions to a secret local swimming hole a few minutes walk from the house. With no wifi or tv reception - Nine Steps is a rare opportunity to really switch off and reconnect with nature and with family, friends and loved ones. There are two TVs and lots of DVDs for movie night and quiet time though! Very good Telstra 4G reception. Nine Steps has everything you need for your stay with linen, towels and toiletries provided, heating and cooling, fully equipped kitchen (including a Nespresso machine), easy parking and secure bike storage. The House • Nine Steps is a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, as well as a smaller second lounge. • The house is designed so guests are sheltered from the weather, while still feeling a part of the environment. Large picture windows are a key feature of the house, along with the many covered decks. • The great room has a large wood burner, air-conditioning and three ceiling fans, as well as opening windows to catch the breeze and cooler evening air. • The fully equipped cooks kitchen is set around an island bench with bar stools - perfect whether you're preparing breakfast or enjoying some local cheese and wine. The Environment • Nine Steps was built to be environmentally friendly with a 6 star energy rating. We're also members of our local Landcare Group and the Australian Conservation Foundation. • Nine Steps is self-sufficient for water - collecting rain water and spring water which is then treated via sediment and UV filters. • If you wander around the property you will see many wombat burrows and hear many birds (lots of kookaburras!). Signature Experiences • Private yoga class: The large 'great room' is perfect for a private yoga class, or experience a beautiful yoga practice outside in the 29 acre grounds of Nine Steps. Our yoga teacher can cater for all levels and will structure a practice to suit your needs. • Alpine Concierge Services: To make your stay at Nine Steps even more memorable, imagine arriving to a hamper of local produce for breakfast or dinner. Or perhaps you need help organising a romantic occasion, or special event. Alpine Concierge Services can create a bespoke experience just for you. • Weddings: We would love to host your wedding! Our approach is to charge for the house accommodation and a per head charge for guests. We leave the organisation of catering, seating, decorating, portaloos, etc to you so you have complete control over your special day. This property exceeded expectations. I have never stayed somewhere that felt more like a home away from home. The kitchen was so well stocked, the bedrooms and living areas so comfortable. The serenity on the property was just what we needed. It was so lovely to sit outside on the deck in the morning, with a coffee, hearing nothing other than the sound of the river and some birds. Only a short 10 min drive in to Bright, 25mins to the top of Mount buffalo.

Loved everything about this property from the amazing “shed” to the stunning views and lots of wildlife.
Easy check in and good communication with host. property was very clean and had all the extras you might need.

We enjoyed our time staying here. The house itself is stunning with high ceilings and beautiful kitchen and dining area to share a meal with those you’re staying with. The location is great - quiet but still a short drive to everything you need. Definitely recommend!

Everything was absolutely perfect, you feel like you're miles away from anyone, yet you are so close to Bright centre.
Very highly recommended. The property is beautiful, very clean and very well maintained.

Spartan Race Weekend Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nine Steps during our Spartan race weekend. After running 21km a soak in the deep freestanding bath was exactly what I needed. We loved the allocation of space, the modern architecture, and the homely feel. The house was presented beautifully and there was very helpful detailed information provided by the host, including how to find the property. The house was perfect in every way and would recommend it highly.

A beautiful well lit retreat ... only the sound of birds and the river. A huge tub with a view was bliss. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Wonderfully clean.

The house was cosy yet spacious and very well maintained.

An amazing property. The design and construction of the house is incredibly well thought out and planned making it very comfortable to stay in. It was almost 30 degrees during the day when we were there but we never needed to run the airconditioning.
The location is fantastic, an easy commute (bike or car), or run (no I didn't do it but others have) into Porpunkah and not much further to Bright. The lack of internet and mobile reception (you can get it if you really need to by standing in just the right spot) was actually a real blessing.

Great Getaway!
Nine steps was a great place to spend a few days with the family. It was quiet and serene. The property is very well maintained, the beds comfortable and the showers hot. Just a few more additional extras would have been nice. For example, we couldn't find any drink coasters and were nervous about staining the coffee table with wine splashes, we went out and purchased paper towels for general clean-ups etc. There are minor points. Overall a fantastic place to chill out, breath in the scenery and relax. Highly recommended.

We had a great time - fireplace warmed the living room for a great family getaway. Bathrooms very luxurious, kitchen fully equipped, sofa’s super comfy - wish we’d stayed longer.

The place is superb and a must stay for anyone with a few days up their sleeves. Magnificent location right at the foot of Mt Buffalo and close to Mt Hotham and other ski fields. First class.

Modern chic with comfort and a hint of luxury.
The property is well equipped and spacious - we cooked up a storm! The fire was lovely and collecting kindling and roasting marshmallows was enjoyed by all. The location is fantastic for walking on mountain buffalo and shopping in Bright and Beechworth. The olive farm near by is definitely worth a visit to stock up on specialty oils.

Gorgeous country retreat
The house is beautiful and the setting stunning.
Everything was very clean and tidy on arrival. Comfy beds and beautiful modern fit out. The fire was the highlight for us. We arrived late at night in the cold and lit the fire. By morning the house was toasty warm and stayed that way all weekend.
