Nestled in Woodstock, this lovely house for $995 per night is a great option for your next break. The Maine House is in the Village of Bryant Pond, aka Woodstock, 14 Miles to Sunday River & Mt. Abram skiing & the Town of Bethel. Appealingly, this very large house has an extremely relaxed environment for sizable groups of up to 35 guests. The kitchen and dining area are highly suitable for catered events and the yard is perfect for large functions to include weddings and special ceremonies. The wrap around porch dining area seats up to 55 people. This property is the perfect setting for any group outing or get-together. Open year-round, it's fully equipped with all the basics from pots and pans to sheets and towels. There are also added and attractive perks such as an enormous fireplace in the Great room, a large steam room, WiFi internet access, TV/DVD, sound system with CD player... Outdoor perks include canoes, kayak, windsurfer, picnic tables, a gas grill and more. Down East Magazine quote: 'The house is operated like a self-service inn; it works like a hostel, albeit a deluxe one, or an inn with no innkeeper.' EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK-OUT: We will negotiate an early check-in time and/or a late check-out time if there are no back-to-back groups with reservations. We have FOUR houses, The Maine House #102687, The Farm House #131495, The Maine Country House #153426, and The Maine MountainView House #146327, all closed in close proximity of each other. Let it also be noted that during the summer months (June, July, and August), we just book for a week at a time (Saturday to Saturday) for The Maine House and Farm House.

Property easily housed our family reunion of 30 people. House is bigger than the pictures indicate. The great room is spectacular. Thre ground are very large with room for our group to spread out with great, direct access to the water.

I came to this house with a group of friends to take a break from Boston city life and to do some leaf peeping. We all had a wonderful stay! The house is expansive and has a breathtaking lake view. The host is very responsive and helpful. Many hiking options nearby.

This place was perfect for our large group of families. Truthfully we spent almost all of our time outside and why wouldn’t you, with two docks, a beautiful yard and just a ton of frontage to the pond. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend to any large group.

This is on a spectacular lake with a great yard and expansive water view. The canoes, kayaks, picnic tables and firepit were great. The kitchen is well appointed with nice appliances but they need a better cleaning of them and to fix the non-working burners. There were a lot of bathrooms, however very dated. The house needs some TLC, a deep cleaning and a considerable makeover... It needs new mattresses and furniture. It has a lot of potential. Despite the campiness of it, we had a great time and it was commensurate with the price for our family of 23. The pictures show it looking a little nicer than it is. Tim, the host was great and answered our questions leading up the the visit rapidly.

Our large group had an amazing stay! Communication with the property manager was quick and helpful. Check in and check out process efficient and easy. Perfect home for a large group with plenty of space to spread out. We loved making meals in the well stocked kitchen and spending time together playing games in the great room. The large fireplace was a favorite amenity! We stayed during the winter months and had so much fun sledding in the large backyard and exploring the frozen pond. We look forward to booking again and experiencing the property during the warm months.

We stayed here with our group (12 adults and 7 children) and it was perfect! The house is older, and while it’s not super updated it is a fantastic spot to getaway with a large group. Tons of beds and bathrooms, living room with the fireplace was my favorite. Communication with the owner was great, check in was very easy. Location can’t be beat!

This is not the first time we stay in this house. We return to this house when our group is large. The house is very spacious, with a huge kitchen and completely stocked with anything you might imagine. There are several common spaces, so the group could either be all together in the large living room or split and do different things in smaller groups. There was only one issue, which I wished the owner had solved - the heat in the large bunk room did not work, no matter what we tried. I emailed about this and the answer was “we will look into it”. We ended up bringing electric heaters into the room. Aside from that, we definitely enjoyed our stay and will absolutely come again. Thank you!

There was a group of 23 of us that spent Thanksgiving at the Maine House. The house accommodated our group well. The location was great, the kitchen was well equipped, beautiful lake views and the great room with fireplace was a cozy place to hang out. This is an older home so it's "homey" and a bit quirky. We're not high maintenance at all so we took it in stride. The owner was great with communication. We did contact him after our stay to make him aware of a couple maintenance issues we noticed. It's an old house and could use a bit of TLC to really make it shine for guests. Overall a great stay.

My large extended family absolutely loved our stay! The property is set right on the water. We enjoyed our days by the dock and our evenings in the large/comfortable living area. We’d absolutely come back again!

The setting is beautiful, lovely swimming in the lake, and nice to have a dock and a good supply of canoes and a kayak. Plenty of space in the house, a nice kitchen. Unfortunately we had a problem that some of the lights didn't work and the living room furniture really needs updating.

The Maine House was perfect for my groups ski weekend. The big fireplace and steam room were great amenities and the proximity to Sunday River was very convenient. Plenty of space for a large group.

We enjoyed a weekend at the Maine House with friends. Perfect house for a large group with a wonderful “great” room with a large fireplace. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The only draw back were the beds which were a little on the firm side for our comfort level. Overall was a great getaway!

"The Maine House" provided the perfect stay for what we needed! We had a group of friends all in our late 20s who were traveling to Maine for an annual New Years ski trip. Tim's house is about 20 minutes away from Sunday River, and is located on a beautiful lake with plenty of space and land. The drive way had plenty of space for all of our cars. There were plenty of beds to go around, not to mention about a dozen extra twin sized beds in the bunk rooms. The steam room was wonderful after a long day of skiing. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for 18 people (except for some limited spices so would recommend you bring your own if needing anything other than salt/pepper). The house is older but was exactly what we were expecting, nicely decorated, and very homey. We loved the fireplace in the great room and kept it going the whole time. Check in/out process was very easy with an access code.

Everything was perfect! The host was more than accommodating and my guests LOVED the Great room and the backyard, it was the perfect place for a wedding ceremony and reception and most of the guests didnt have to make any drive back home cause the house fits 35 people comfortably!Thank you,Lashaya and Josh
