About this villa rental

Situated in Urubamba, this attractive villa for $334 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Step into your own fairy-tale home in the middle of the Andes. Welcome to our house. "Tayta" is a 300m2 , 4-bedroom/5-bathroom villa built with traditional style and luxury materials. Daily breakfast & cleaning, Wifi included! Tayta is the twin villa of Kampu. Tayta is located inside a luxury complex, a 1 acre property full of flower gardens. Enjoy the comfort of an exclusive hotel and the independence and freedom of your own house. We will help you organize transportation to and from the airport as well as tours to the main sites in the Sacred Valley. We can also arrange full-day Cusco tours, transporation to Puno and/or Colca Valley (more information below). Located at only a 5 minutes by car (1 mile) from a train station with direct link to Machu Picchu, Tayta is the ideal starting point to explore the Sacred Inca Valley and its many archeological treasures such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Besides, the lower altitude than Cusco (2850 m.a.s.l. – 9350 f.a.s.l.), allows for a much better altitude adaptation. Share with your family the wonderful experience of watching the night sky without any light contamination. You will be able to contemplate constellations, planets, and shooting stars quite frequently. Tayta has more than 300m2 and it’s been built in a traditional style which harmonizes perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Extra high ceilings and wide windows will give you extraordinary views and brightness throughout the house. There are wood and stone designer touches all around the primary living areas, a traditional fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen. This inviting home also has a wooden floor lounge/gameroom/library area and a separate glass-enclosed spa room which includes a 3 person hydrotherapy tub and a rainfall shower. Enjoy a unique moment in a relaxing bubble bath while you look at our spectacular mountain and forest views. There are 4 bedrooms: *Room I (master suite): two beds (can be joined to make a double bed), ensuite bathroom, balcony with wonderful views. *Room II: up to three beds. Ensuite bathroom. *Room III: up to three beds. Ensuite bathroom. *Room IV: one double bed and one double sofa bed, private external bathroom. All bedrooms have heaters, luxury linen and towels (100% Peruvian cotton, down comforters). *Fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator) *We have children playing balls, table games, Sapo (Peruvian coin toss game) and a foosball table. Our service personnel will make sure your bedrooms and common areas are cleaned daily. They will also light the fireplace, and/or prepare the spa at your demand. It is all included!! In addition, we have a 24h surveillance service that will ensure your peace of mind during your stay. Enjoy the experience of our most traditional dish, the Pachamanca (from Quechua pacha "earth", manka "pot") made with 100% local organic produce (6 persons min.). Upon your arrival we will greet you with the traditional coca leaf tea, and other herbal teas, comforting and good for adapting to the altitude. We will also help you with your luggage so you can start enjoying your vacations right from the start. There's even emergency oxygen available in the rare event of altitude sickness symptoms. Villa Tayta is located 10-15 min walking distance to the center of Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Inca Valley. We work with a local tourist transport service company in Urubamba that offers a range of vehicles depending on your needs (Sedan, Van, Mini Bus). I would start by saying that all of the other reviews are spot on in terms of the spaciousness, design, cleanliness, comfortable beds and the spectacular views from the property. It is a very peaceful oasis and a great central location to take day trips to the important sites of the Valley. If you are looking for a self-catering property to prepare your own dinners, I would not recommend it. It has a very lightly stocked kitchen and missing a number of very basic items, i.e. wine opener. Further there aren't really any reasonably sized supermarkets nearby, and although there are a number of mini-markets, and a central food market, it takes some navigating to find and park. This leaves eating out at restaurants and hiring in catering as the best options. It is possible to walk into town but with the numbers of intimidating stray dogs about, it is not recommended at night although there's plenty of tuk tuks to take which are great fun AND value. Urubamba is a great central location in the valley, but the town itself, when compared to the prettier, more touristy neighbors of Pisac and Ollytaytambo, is somewhat grittier and a working town, but vibrant and we always felt safe. Note that the strict cancellation policy is indeed strict and when we had a couple of dropouts, we were unable to even move our stay to a later date, so do take it seriously. Therefore, there were only two of us, which is why we may have had a little less attention. We requested an early breakfast at 7:15 on our Macchu Pichu date which never arrived and another night we requested a fire which was never made either, although we had texted instructions in Spanish as previously agreed.. All of this said, it is a truly special location and with pre-arranged tours and meals it is the perfect choice for a group, especially if able to combine with the other villa on the property.

We stayed at Kantu Wasi for five nights. The house was beautiful and clean. Ideal for a family of two adults and 4 adult children. Raul and Margarite the caretakers were helpful and accommodating. Hernan and Mone were incredibly helpful setting up our drivers, Matchu Picchu tickets and restaurant recommendations. We would have been overwhelmed without their help. We highly recommend a stay at The Villa Taya at Kantu Wasi when planing a stay in the sacred valley. Terri and Chuck Benson

Great House Staff!
Great House Staff!
The house is located on a beautifully landscaped property. Raul and Margarita who are the house staff ensured our arrival was seamless and our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The house has 4 true bedrooms and 3 en suite bathrooms, with the 4th bathroom split between the upstairs family room (shower) and downstairs entry (toilet). It worked well for our group. We also utilized the organized tours and booked through Hernan the owner who assisted with booking advice leading up to our arrival. Each tour arranged was to our request and provided a great experience. The house is near downtown Urubamba. Thank you to Hernan, Raul, and Margarita for a great stay!

My family (2 children aged 12 & 8) stayed here in April 2022. It was fair but overpriced. The photos are more flattering than the reality. Urubamba is not a particularly charming town and it’s neither a good launching point for the Sacred Valley nor close enough to be convenient for the trek or railhead to Machu Picchu. The house is approximately 1 kilometer outside town and is neither far enough away for solitude nor close enough for convenience. Not too many restaurants or markets in town and pretty basic options at either. The property has nice views of the nearby mountains. The grounds are well kept and the staff are nice. The property is sandwiched in between other properties with other houses only a few meters away- which none of the photos indicate. There is also a second, similar house on the same property. It lacks privacy. Bedrooms and bathrooms are fine. The latter come with cheap bath products (think of the bar of soap and sachet of shampoo you would get at a shoddy motel or a county jail). The kitchen is sparsely appointed with only the basics. The kitchen isn’t sufficient to cook a nice meal to enjoy with a group, which in our case was one of the reasons we rented the house. Daily cleaning service was good. Rental comes with a basic breakfast, which was neither memorable nor filling- consisting of dry bread, a few eggs, and fresh juice (which was good). No fresh fruit. Same breakfast every day. Overall, the property is overpriced. For the cost, I’d expect a combination of better location, better service, better amenities, better food, and more of a luxury feel. It wasn’t a terrible stay but wasn’t great either. We give it a C grade. We did really enjoy visits to Ollantaytambo, Pisac, and Perolniyoc via taxi. The Sacred Valley brewery is a gem. The staff can connect you with Nando who we enjoyed as our driver. He was on time, agreeable, and his prices were fair.
