I would like to congratulate Nico, the agent, who was very efficient and helpful throughout our stay. He responded promptly to all my queries and did his best to assist us. I understand that he cannot make decisions regarding the apartment himself, as these are ultimately matters for the owner.
I also appreciated that all the dishes were very clean and that the bathroom was clean as well. We had plenty of toilet paper, which is not always the case in holiday accommodation, and Nico had also prepared bottles of water in the fridge for our arrival, which was a nice touch. I was also happy that we were provided with additional towels, as we needed them when using the pool and showering afterwards.
The hosts did provide us with three caps in case we didn't have any, which was appreciated, but I believe the swimming cap requirement should be clearly stated on Booking.com so that guests can come prepared.
Do not mistake Terme Virgilio, which is actually a specialised medical and therapy facility, for Terme Catullo, which is a leisure spa. The latter is almost 4 km away, and it’s best to get there by car or bus.
The apartment is located in a quiet and almost remote area, so it's a good choice if you really want to get away from the city buzz and crowds. There's a nice pizzeria less than a hundred metres away where you can enjoy a quiet dinner. The Coop grocery store is less than a 10-minute walk away, and the Migross superstore is about 1 km away, which was quite convenient for us as I cooked almost all our meals. The shuttle/bus stop is not far either and is easy to get to once you familiarise yourself with the area.
We enjoyed spending time by the pool, which was clean, and the water temperature was fine.
The sofa in the living room was uncomfortable. When opened, the extension was not connected to the base in any way. It could have easily slid away during the night, which is why I decided to use only the fixed part of the sofa. The apartment is probably more suited to a couple, as it felt quite cramped for three people. The doors also cannot be opened properly without hitting either the wardrobe in the tiny hallway before the bathroom or the bedside table in the bedroom.There is only one AC unit for the whole apartment, and it is located in the tiny hallway between the living room and the bedroom. Because of this, we had to sleep with all the doors wide open. The bedroom door does not remain open unless something is placed against it to prevent it from closing. This could be quite inconvenient for other guests, particularly due to the lack of privacy. We couldn't really use any of the drawers in the bedroom (bedside tables and chest of drawers), as they don't have stoppers to prevent them from coming off the units. It took me over an hour to iron a few items of clothing, as the iron provided was not very good. The washing machine is extremely loud during the spin cycle. The laundry also smelled slightly mouldy after being washed, so it would probably be a good idea to deep-clean the machine or replace it before renting the apartment to someone else. The sun loungers provided fold inwards when you sit on them, so it was quite an experience for the three of us! We ended up using them either half-open or directly on the grass to avoid any unpleasant accidents. The common entrance door doesn't close properly, so residents, including us, have to slam it shut, which is very unpleasant for anyone sleeping in the living room. At least four maintenance men started mowing the lawn before 7:30am on Sunday. This added to the lack of proper sleep we had already experienced during our stay. The bathroom window is cracked all the way from top to bottom.

Leaving present was a nice attention and appreciated
The cutlery, plates and cups were old and dirty (greasy in some cases)
Dishwasher did not work properly meaning we hand washed everything
Expected some essentials such as hand washing liquid, oil, salt to be provided (instead had to buy and leave them behind)
Not possible to switch oven & heating plate at the same time as electro installation weak
Towels were very old, thin line paper and yellow stained, very unpleasant to use. Bed sheets were not in a much better state. No towels provided for the swimming pool
The bed was hard as a rock, did not sleep correctly one night due to this. Edgy corners from the bed caused scratches, dangerous. No head rest above the bed which made reading not possible unless you like to rest your head against a rock
Strict rules for swimming pool (obligatory use of caps, forbidden use of water mattresses) made a poor swimming experience
When you enter the building, the main door made a very screeching sound which was very unpleasant to hear, cannot understand why nobody every looked into this
Very noisy and unpleasant neighbors - the lady in the flat above seemed to move furniture all day which was very unpleasant due to constant noise coming through the roof. Also she constantly banged on the metallic fence of the terrace, not sure why. She also spied on us for every our movements and gave us orders whenever she saw us (also when we swam she stayed on her balcony and looked at us until we had left the swimming pool, obviously not normal behavior). It was obvious that she did not like tourists. Lots of noise from other flats too as from 07:00 which although sleep was hard due to the stone mattresses, did not even allow to try to recover a bit by sleeping a bit in the morning...
Poor choice of restaurants in the walking distance neighborhood
Way to expensive as quality did not justify by far the price of EUR 110 per night which was much much too high. We stayed in flats where we paid EUR 50 a night which were much better
