About this cabin rental
Our place is close to the best mountain trails in Shenandoah National Park and numerous wineries. The cabin is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Depending on the season, you can take advantage of our hot tub or private swimming hole. And regardless of the season, you'll be able to enjoy the nature that surrounds you from our large screened-in porch -- so you can experience all of the fresh air without any of the mosquitoes.
Our cabin is in the shadow of Old Rag Mountain, the most popular hike in Shenandoah National Park. It's a quick drive to the trailhead from our place. We're also a short drive from another fantastic but lesser-known hike: White Oak Canyon. And we're just a three-mile drive from DuCard Vineyards, which makes hyperlocal wines and has great musical entertainment on Saturdays. The nearby local institution, The Little Country Store, in Etlan can hook you up with pizza -- and BBQ if you're there the right day.
There is limited cellular service in this part of the Shenandoah Valley. For those who must remain connected to the outside world, we offer Starlink satellite internet with Youtube TV and other streaming services. We do not have a landline, but you can make phone calls by enabling Wi-Fi calling on your cell phone before your trip. This is a free feature that most modern cell phones offer.
We have Starlink Wi-Fi Internet, with average speeds of 30–200 Mbps ↓ and 10–35 Mbps ↑. It is good enough for streaming and Zoom and other video conferencing, although speeds can be sporadic at times.

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. We were lucky enough to have marvelous weather of 70s and sunshine (and no bugs)! Only wish we had more time to spent there. You can hear the mountain stream as you relax on the porch and enjoy a multitude of birds chirping and butterflies flying about. We took advantage of the fire pit which was so nice. We grilled on the provided Weber propane grill twice. They had horseshoes, a cornhole game and a hot tub, but we just ran out of time to take advantage of those amenities. The mountain stream and hike are basically at the end of the driveway. A wonderful place to spend time. I did take advantage of the swimming hole for a refreshing cool dip. We flew in from out of state, so we weren't able to bring a lot of things with us and that included food. We went to The Little Country Store (2 miles away) for a few things - mostly egg and cheese breakfast bagels (and ham biscuits). If you need more substantial groceries, I would suggest Food Loin in Madison. It took us about an hour to drive to the Skyland Restaurant and Trailhead on the Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. We enjoyed all the peace, quiet and scenery on our stay. We had no problems with the Wi-fi in the cabin, but be prepared to loss some cell service on your travels.

Thus was the most well appointed VRBO I’ve ever stayed in! So many thoughtful details and amenities. We went for a writing retreat and thrived in the peaceful, relaxing embrace of woodland hot tubing quiet. Comfortable beds and bedding, all the cooking aids you can image needing (an oyster knife!) and a wood stove. Not to mention the Adirondack chairs placed by the run for optimal morning mountain zen. Sublime.
