We spent three days in Omegna on Lago d'Orta and loved our apartment, L'Escale. Such a great location on the waterfront with a view over the lake and very central to everything. The apartment appears to have been recently renovated - it certainly exceeded our expectations as far as comfort is concerned. Parking the car was easy - paid parking is just around the corner. Something to note though - on Thursdays, market day, parking is restricted. This was not an issue for us as we weren't there on a Thursday but if you are, you will need to make alternative arrangements for that day and park a bit further away. Marco and Anna were terrific hosts - always friendly and available to assist with anything. They own several other apartments in Omegna as well as Amelie Lago d'Orta Hotel and La Buvette, a wine bar, gourmet food shop and restaurant rolled into one. La Buvette is just downstairs and we frequented it way too often but couldn't help ourselves - we loved it. The food was so fresh and authentic and the wine selection was extensive. We have no hesitation in recommending Chocolat Relais et Maisons L'Escale and Omegna as a perfect base for a couple to stay and explore Lago d'Orta. We visited all of the other sites, villages and the Isola San Giulio during the day but it was such a pleasure to return to Omegna at the end of each day.

Location was perfect and Marco was a wonderful host. The apartment was well equipped and clean.
